I've been breaking this one in, good multi mission, lots of targets. Thankee.

Setting affinity for all my other programs "sticks", and remembers it next time I launch the app. Why doesn't Blackshark remember the affinity setting I give it like all my other programs? And are they gonna fix it?

I have exact same problem. I have static (fixed) ip, ports are open on my router. I have exception for dcs.exe on in windows firewall (have also tried disabling it), AVG antivirus only thing I'm running. I can conect as client, but cannot host via internet or direct ip. (UPD/TCP 10308, and 10307 are open in router settings). All my other port forewarded games run correctly. Also have another computer hardwired to router, but my host machine has static ip, so that should have nothing to do with it. I'm not diconnecting my LAN. Why ya have to be a network engineer to get this game running? Bad mp code in my opinion. [rant off]

Same problem here fellas. I can join other easy, but cannot host a game. All ports are open, firewall opened etc. Im thinking there may be a problem with russian and english game versions connecting, or the multiplayer code is broken. I give up on this one until developers say something.
-
Same problem here. I can join others as a client, but no one can see me when I host. I have ports open, windows firewall exception for DCS exe is on (tried with firewall off also). All other internet games run fine. It has to be buggy multiplayer code.

I've tried every combination in the editor to disable enemy external views. It can't be done. (but manual says its possible) I can disable ALL external views, but not enemy only views.
-
It cant be done. I wasted a couple hours the other night trying every enable/enforce view combination there is in the editor. I'm gonna post about this in the problems/bugs forum.
-
I have my units hidden. But what is the point in hiding them if the player can see them with external enemy view? No one knows how to disable this?
-
Port is forewarded. Connection is cable. Router is dual band...Netgear brand I think (im not home right now).
-
No one can see my server. Port is open, firewall is open. My router ip shows in the server/game info on my side (shouldnt that show the default gateway ip??). Clients cannot see me via direct ip connect, or internet search. All other internet apps/games are running fine.

I want to see friendly and ownship externals, but no enemy externals. I've tried every combination of Enable/enforce in the mission option menu, and all I get is either no externals at all, or externals for everything. How do I block enemy external views?

That works pretty good, thanks for the help. -

I give up. Ya telling me this helicopter simulator doesnt have a "hover" waypoint command? -
A Poor Man's Dynamic Campaign Engine
RichardG replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Forget about a dynamic campaign, they'll never be able to make one out of the way they have already designed this sim. Thats not what I'm talking about anyway. I want a random (single) mission generator, so I dont have to spend 6 hours trying to make something different to fly. (that I know everything about after I have made it). Cabiche? -
Editor Woes (How to make helo flight stay put?)
RichardG replied to RichardG's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I dont want them to rearm, or refuels. I want them to hover, overwatching a position until mission ends, or they land for lack of fuel. Dont want em moving, or looping. (speed is zero) -
I want a flight of helos to hover in one spot until out of fuel, then RTB. For the love of God, the editor will not allow this. Can someone explain this cryptic clunky thing to me?

A Poor Man's Dynamic Campaign Engine
RichardG replied to ericinexile's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I'm no programmer (and dont want to be), but a simple mission generator sounds simple enough to me. Include mission target, basic ground formations (company level based on real world TO&Es), with the option to have em on the move or static. Or static strategic targets (facilities, bases). An option for selecting difficulty/quality/density of air defense around said target, some random weather, and an option for mission length (distance to target area), and map location for variable terrain mission to mission. Some random variables as options and voila. If the editor had the ability to make a mission like this, I WOULD learn to program it, but it doesn't. I dont understand the persistant trend of game companies insisting on the end user designing (read: coding) their own gameplay, when some people have absolutely no interest in that. And the editor with Blackshark is about as intuitive as a square coconut, a sure sign it was designed by engineers with no thought for GUI, or ease of use for people who dont eat and sleep boolean string logic. (Yes, I read the 162(!) page editor manual.) -
Detecting enemies; Labels-on to easy, Labels-Off to hard
RichardG replied to eV1Te's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Flying at 1680*1050 resolution, 8xAA, 16xAF., high, high, medium. I spend most time hunting targets heads up with the naked eye, slightly zoomed in. I only go to the schval when targeting, or inspecting an area of interest. -

Thats funny, I think they are too easy to see. Vehicles stand out like a sore thumb in anything but wooded terrain. So do infantry. The color pallette of the terain seems faded, like a watercolor painting, whereas the vehicles are sharper, darker, easy to see. -

I was thinking the same thing. Or just a quick mission creator. I like flying sims, but I have no desire to program or build missions (thats work, not play). After a few solid weeks with blackshark, the same scripted missions are getting boring, so I find myself heading back for Falcon4 for something unexpected. -
It does indeed work. However, the part about having laser to standy, and HMS off is not in the manual. (tell me where if it is) Turns out that was what I was doing wrong.

Ingress mode is the blue home plate/ ingress button on data link panel correct?
-
Game will freeze. Image is frozen, and no keys/input will work. Alt/tab/delete to task manager, says DCS not responding. Waiting for windows error log si I can send ya something, but it never gives me one. Quad core, nvidia, latest drivers/ DX, etc. etc.

Having trouble slaving schval to target point that is sent over datalink. Example: If you create target point on the fly, then select TP on PVI and uncage schval, schval auto-slews to TP, putting it in view. Now, if I recieve a datlink TP (or send one), the person who recieves the TP should be able to select it, then uncage schval and see the TP in view. Is this correct? Its not working that way, and I'm not sure if its because of my error, or the function just does not work in the cockpit.

What stick runs on SST software?
