  1. More fortifications like HESCO barriers, emplacements, fences and gates for building more realistic FOBs and FARPs. The ability to draw a FLOT and other markers on the F10 map that players can see, almost Arma-style. The ability to interact and affect weapons stored at airfield warehouses so I can, for example, set a trigger to give an airfield 100 Mk82s without having anything delivered from another warehouse. And finally, the ability to place the Viggen as start on ground so we can have starts from road bases.
  2. Would love a C-130, or maybe a C-2 for carrier ops. Ideally we’d also get more troop deployment mechanics like paradrops, vehicle drops etc. There is something that for me would one-up both of these though: the V-22. You get a decent cargo capacity, VTOL for troop deployment and naval ops, and all at a decent cruise speed. Its newness could cause issues though.
  3. For the people who were wondering why people weren't more excited about this: now you know. Developing DCS takes a very. very long time; the timescales are much longer than other games. Why this is we can only speculate, but it means I rarely get excited for anything here anymore. When ED shows a new feature in development like this, it is typically something that is still months or years out. I don't expect to see any of this for at least another six months, and wouldn't be surprised if it is pushed even further back.
  4. When Deka was asked about this I remember them saying that the J-11 is effectively complete and they were waiting for ED to release it to Su27/33 owners. As far as the more knowledgeable people in DCS development whom I have asked know there is no technical reason as to why they can't, so it remains a mystery.

In lieu of a dynamic campaign, a save/load game option would offer similar continuity and player-dependent progression towards an end goal in larger, multi-stage missions such as the ones I currently design. You could perform a SEAD strike on a base, go to bed, then boot the game the next day and continue that progress by, say, doing CAS on that base with a buddy. It would also allow restarting multiplayer servers to preserve stability without losing progress or using janky state-saving scripts. I know that ED has a lot on their plate judging by the unofficial roadmap, but I think this could act as a highly effective stop-gap until we get a full DC, which judging from Community Manager comments is likely still several years away due to it's complexity. Unfortunately the only comments we've got for such a feature have mentioned it being in conjunction with the DC.

  7. Community-made missions are one of DCS's biggest strong points. Only allowing mission sorting by New and Old, however, really hampers the ability to find high-quality missions, since they quickly get buried. We already have a rating system, so why not put that to good use and allow the user to sort by Most downloaded, Highest rated, etc over x time period?
  8. I’ve wanted ED to implement something like this for the longest time, thank you. Does DSMC work well with MOOSE and how much Lua knowledge is required to figure it out given theres no manual?
  9. I would like to see a new waypoint type in addition to the flyover and turning point types we already have. It would allow you to place it at 0 feet AGL. Aircraft that support this type of waypoint (like the F-16, for instance) would also be able to see it like one in their nav system. This doesn't have to do anything for the AI since we already have other ways to make them target stuff, but it would be a nice addition for players, especially for GPS-guided weapons.
  10. The turret slew in most vehicles in jerky and uncomfortable to use; the slew speed varies from super slow to appropriate randomly, sometimes almost as if it's FPS-dependent or something. Compared to Squad or Arma it feels very strange. Encountered primarily in Multiplayer. Steps to reproduce: 1. Join any decently populated MP sever 2. Take control of a tank or IFV with CA 3. Attempt to slew the turret around in F1 view E: Just me?
  11. Air-to-air missiles that are fired but do not hit their target fly straight through the ground and keep going. On populated servers the large amount of missiles may be causing increased network stress and desync. Steps to reproduce: 1. Join any decently populated multiplayer server. 2. Take off with an air-to-air missile (issue primarily observed with AIM-120, AIM-9X/M). 3. Fire the missile with no target locked up or outside of WEZ. 4. Watch it eventually flt through the ground and keep going. Not sure if this is related, but I have also seen missiles, primarily AIM-9s, flying in a straight line at cruise speed in a gentle climb high up into the sky, flying sideways with rocket motor still burning and smoke trail. My wingman observed the same missiles as I did. This might just be a desync issue caused by network stress as a result of the original bug though.

  14. On certain servers like Hoggit GAW, me and many other players have lately been experiencing far more severe rubber-banding issues. They appear to have worsened since the update that supposedly "fixed rubber-banding in multiplayer", though I'm not sure exactly which update that was. Many people have since stopped playing MP altogether.
  15. The main menu music continues playing in the mission editor. I’m not sure if this was intended or a bug, but it sure is annoying. I know I can disable music in settings, but I quite enjoy the music in the main menu; it gets me hyped. I just dont like to listen to it loop for 2 hours.

  17. The transsonic shock vapor cone is an iconic aerodynamic effect in supersonic aviation. I’d love to see it in DCS. I’d also love to see more aircraft getting overwing vapor effects like the Mig-29 got.
  18. Interesting that we were originally promised high-detail aircraft carriers for free, and back in 2016 none the less. I guess they needed the monetary motivation of a DLC to actually start development.

Currently, the options for loading/ transporting troops in AI helicopters are extremely difficult to figure out; the most I could accomplish was having one guy mount up and the rest literally start running around in circles, whilst the helo never takes off again. I have found no guides anywhere on how to do this and have had to curcumvent the issue by simply havig troops on late activation on the ground once the chopper lands. I’d love for this system to be easier and more versatile to use. I’d also love for the helicopter landing to be cleaned up, at the moment the helicopter descends to 30 feet, flies in towards the LZ very, very slowly, and after about a minute or two spins round and flies the last bit backwards, before jerkily landing. It is also impossible for a group of more than one helicopter to land because they just try to land on the same spot and end up in an infinite loop of approaching and waving off.
  20. When the "Load Mission" trigger action is activated in a mission, it causes the game to get stuck on a black screen instead of loading the selected .miz file.
  21. At the moment the only options we have for finding goop SP missions are "Newest" and "Oldest". This isn't great considering the majority of players play Singleplayer, and the game's built-in missions, whilst being very good, get old after the 2nd playthrough. I'd love some more filtering options for the User Files page, like: Top rated - All time Top rated - This month Most downloaded - All time Most downloaded - This month I'd also love to filter by terrain, so that I can exclude maps I don't have. I know the forums are also a good place to find missions, but there aren't really any consistent categories or searchwords to go by to find missions that fit my modules.
  22. After expending ordnance and re-arming, the laser code cannot be changed. It remains the same after pressing enter on the UFC.
  23. The 52C is capable of carrying the C-805 missile which has land-attack capability
  24. When told to fire at a point well within their range, all 3 variants of warships will only ever use their main guns, and sometimes not even that. Cruise missiles and rockets do not appear to work. Ship-to-ship combat works fine. Is this something that has broken or is yet to be added? I think I remember using cruise missiles with these ships a couple weeks ago. E: Russian warships don't fire anything at land targets either
  25. EDIT: Sound was turned off in settings. I will now go sit in a corner in shame. ”Sound to all”, “Sound to group”, etc. functions are not working. I know it’s set up correctly because when i use a ”message to all” trigger it works fine, it’s just the sound trigger that isn’t working. Any ideas?
