For some reason Drag on AIM 54s are way less then on the AIM 7s when taking the 6 sparrow load out, If I switch out 2 of the AIM 7s on the wings for 2 AIM 54s the top speed of the tomcat increases by over 20 knots, even though the weight is heavier now, and there should be more drag. also a loadout of: 2gbu 10s, 3 AIM 54s, a lantern pod, 2 AIM 9's and 2 fuel tanks Goes about 20 knots faster with over 3000 pounds more weight then a loadout of 2 AIM 54s, 3 AIM 7s, 2 AIM 9s, and 2 fuel tanks.

Here it is on the Viggen same issue

Only on heatblur modules If it's for VR motion sickness. Why does it only occur on heatblur modules (F-14 does it too. head through canopy and parts of the cockpit) but every other plane by other studios doesn't have this problem?
-
So while I'm super impressed with the Tomcat. It seems just like the Viggen you can put your head through the glass of the canopy and into the front instrument panel. No other developers have this issue, but heatblur has yet to fix it for either of their aircraft. Helpfull in a dogfight though being able to stick your head out of the cockpit to see further behind ;)
-
Not new This is apparently a heatblur thing. You can put your head through the glass and the front panel in the F-14 as the pilot as well You can also do it in the Viggen. Unlike any other developer in DCS heatblur doesn't have boundries that prevent your view from going out of the canopy. Don't know why they've never addressed this
-
Yeah I thought that might be the case but i've made sure to press and hold the adjustment button no it's not that. I'm going to check if it has something to do with the rsbn and the prmg beimg on. Next time i'll fly out with them off and see if that changes anything though i can't see how. It's not pitot heat not being on either

Seriously has nobody else experienced this? Where the compass itself (not the needle) goes haywire and stops showing the correct course? Say i'm trying to turn quickly from my heading of 185 to a heading of 295 as i turn halfway through to 295 the compass goes haywire and continues to slowly spin even if I no longer turn and takes about 10-15 seconds before it stabilizes.
-
People need to stop saying it has small wings. It's wings are bigger then the Harrier and the F-5 and almost as big as an F-16s. It's just due to the shape of a tailed delta. Lol
-
Hey I can't seem to find this anywhere else but constantly when changing heading quickly to a GCI call out the compass will on the NPP will sometimes move in the wrong direction and take 10-15 seconds to show the correct heading. Is there anyway to prevent this? I've never seen it in other planes. Or is it just something unique to the MiG 21s NPP
-
Depends on which part of the war. Actually by the time Linebacker rolled around the North Vietnamese had the MiG 21 MF which is very similar to the Bis but don't have the new engine with emergancy afterburner.

Unable to slave Aim 9x to radar locked target while using JHMCS
CrazyGman replied to CrazyGman's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Unfortunaly that just turns off the display overlay. The AIM 9x will still not slave to the radar lock unless I turn the dial completly to off. -
So playing around with the JHMCS I noticed that with it turned on you can no longer seem to slave the AIM 9x to a target locked on by the radar. Is this how it's suppose to be? If so is there a way to disable the JHMCS on the hotas without having to turn the dial so that you can use the radar slave option?

I am using a custom setting for Track IR that works both in IL-2 and DCS. It doesn't have issues in any of the other modules I own but looks like it breaks the Viggen
-
I'm just wondering if anyone with track IR is also having this problem or if it's only on my end?
-
Except on the FC3 planes as well as the MiG 21, MiG 15, M2000, and Hornet modules that I own, your head cannot move outside of the canopy.
-
This is with Track IR though. Not with VR.
-
So just bought the Viggen today, and while playing around with it using Track IR, I find I can move my head through the canopy glass and bars when looking behind and moving to either side. Basicly looking over the shoulder. Doesn't happen in any other plane I own, and I was surprised I couldn't find a thread on it. Some collision detection issue I'm guessing. Anyone else have this issue?
-
So the clearer glass seems to only be in 2.5 beta. not in 2.5. which is unfortunate because the ACG server has moved from 2.5beta to 2.5 so it's player multiplayer with blinders on again.
-
yeah. i just downloaded 2.5, and apparently the clear canopy is only in the 2.5beta, but the ACG server has moved from 2.5 beta to 2.5 :(
-
So i was really excited the the glass in the canopy got fixed last patch, and I thought that the lighting in the cockpit at night would have been corrected to, but when I try to do the night time intercept mussion, even with all the lights on at full I can't make out the numbers on most of the instuments. but when looking at videos from older versions of DCS this doesn't seem to be a problem. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me. I've tried to tweek some of my graphoc setting to see if it makes a difference but there is no change.
-
my dreams have come true It's fixed. It's fixed
-
Hope they fix this soon. I've been flying the Mig21 like this the entire time I've had it, and I love the plane, but I really wish it was easier to spot F5, Harriers and Viggens in the cold war server. If contacts are ever in the direction of the sun it's extremly difficult.
