Hey man...just checking in on the status of your build videos. I've started making the 3D printed parts, but eventually I'm going to need to move onto the more "technical" parts and some tutorial build videos would be EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks.

fixed 2.9.6 quad views foveated Varjo Aero issue under 90fps
Jarhead0331 replied to Rexxxy77's topic in VR Bugs
Why can't we do both? Skipping the "band-aid" is sort of like cutting off your nose to spite your face. It prevents us from being able to enjoy the sim as it is intended and to no good end really. Having people with your expertise in our community is critical. You and those like you are invaluable assets. But I feel like you've let the issue with ED get too personal, which I understand, and now the entire community is left suffering. I don't think having third-parties with the right know-how finding interim solutions to the problem and loudly demanding that ED take action to repair the underlying issue are mutually exclusive. I hope you'll come around to seeing it that way because we really need you, bro. -
fixed 2.9.6 quad views foveated Varjo Aero issue under 90fps
Jarhead0331 replied to Rexxxy77's topic in VR Bugs
^How do I try this? Some have said to "disable" QVFR. Others have said to "uninstall" QVFR. What exactly needs to be done to try this? I'm on a Crystal. Thanks. -
fixed Pimax Crystal Quadviews seems to broken after last patch.
Jarhead0331 replied to tikijoetots37's topic in VR Bugs
This is soul crushing. I shut off eye-tracking in the Pimax Device Settings and that solved the problem. I'm getting some frame spikes and the overall quality of the image is not as good, but it solved the problem and at least let me get into the air over Afghanistan. Fixing this bug needs to be a priority for ED. -

Same problem here with Pimax Crystal. Devastating to rush home after work to try the new patch and see this. Just ugh! -
The explanation is great, but the lack of a new date is concerning.

RAZBAM Situation Post Archive (will be deleted)
Jarhead0331 replied to Rhinozherous's topic in RAZBAM
This is a fair statement and the only one anybody should expect or feel entitled to. This is a private contractual dispute between two parties and despite our personal investments into the community and the products at stake, these are not issues that will be resolved in the court of public opinion. We just have to give it time, hope for the best and wait it out. That doesn't mean that we cannot voice our concerns and hopes for a preferred outcome, or that ED has no obligation, in good faith and conscience, to post periodic updates like the one quoted above. So for now...fingers and toes remain crossed. Who is with me? -
What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
Jarhead0331 replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
My friend, I wasn't offended. I guess it could be the cultural difference, although I am not sure what planet you may be from. In my culture, we show respect and we pay attention to Subject Matter Experts. We just have intelligence and common sense. I'll spell out my point for you, since you clearly misunderstood. No, if Casmo jumped off a bridge, I wouldn't follow, because that would just be dumb. However, when it comes to the quality of the Kiowa in DCS and its authenticity compared to the real thing, I'm inclined to pay attention to a guy who has more than 2,000 hours flying the airframe...in combat too. To ignore the information provided by someone with that kind of experience and think that my judgment could possibly be better when it comes to those things is what we would call in my culture, foolish. But you're a dude with a computer from another planet, who must know better and who would rather just complain about what you perceive as sound and graphics issues instead of focusing on the module as a simulation, so rock on!- 591 replies

As a lawyer, I really just want to see the contract between ED and Razbam. That would give me great insight into the obligations, rights and remedies available to each party. As a paying customer, I wonder if a court with jurisdiction would determine that I have standing to subpoena the contract? lol -
What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
Jarhead0331 replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
That is a pretty bone-headed comment. The guy flew Kiowas for over 10 years and has commented that he likes it and that it rivals and in some areas even surpasses anything they had in the Army to train with. What are your bonafides, being a career complainer?- 591 replies

[No Bug] Cockpit brightness issue in VR
Jarhead0331 replied to Jarhead0331's topic in Bugs & Problems
Thanks, HB_Painter. I need to test this a little more, but my initial impressions after turning Global Cockpit Illumination on is that it has improved the problem substantially. I'll give more feedback once I have some time to really explore the new setting. -
Hard to see console controls (brightness/contrast)
Jarhead0331 replied to Deyth's topic in Bugs & Problems
Yup. Same problem here. Using Pimax Crystal. -
Very strange issue while in the cockpit. Brightness is very low making it almost impossible to read gauges, dials, etc. However, if I go into the F10 view (ie. the map) and then go back to cockpit, normal brightness is restored. Unfortunately, it is a temporary fix. Timing on when it goes dark seems to vary, F10 always fixes it temporarily. VR gear is a Pimax Crystal. I will test this on my Varjo Aero shortly. For the record, i have also experienced this in the Apache, but not as severe. I tend to not be as distracted by it because it doesn't seem as dark and once fixed, it seems to stay fixed. F-4 always reverts to dark so far. Any ideas?

DCS F-4E Phantom II Release Date Announcement- May 21st 2024
Jarhead0331 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Really? That's your response? Then how about running the final check the day before the holiday!? Alternatively, pick a release date that does not fall on the day after a holiday. This isn't rocket science. You can go through whatever mental gymnastics you want to excuse poor planning, but that is the bottom line. It is so obvious that it is almost hard to believe that it isn't purposeful. -
DCS F-4E Phantom II Release Date Announcement- May 21st 2024
Jarhead0331 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
I have a better idea...commit to a date and come hell or high water, just stick to it! There's a novel idea. I mean seriously, why are you doing final checks on something like this literally the DAY OF release? Couldn't this have been simply done the day before? If not, why not? What is the nuance here that prevents simple redundancy or getting ahead of an obvious possible problem before the actual day of release? This is another entirely self-inflicted wound that easily could have been avoided with just a little bit of better planning. This is the frustrating part.- 715 replies
