  1. We've gone from "imminent" to "getting close" to "very soon" ...translation... Two weeks.
  2. Exactly...I mean a post that says, "we're getting close now" is absolutely meaningless in DCS-land, particularly when in December 2022, release was described as "imminent". Wouldn't that be described as close? How much closer are we now then? For the record, I have nothing negative to say about ED or Razbam. I'm dedicated to both. I just wish they were more careful and considered in their messaging, that's all.
  3. That is ridiculous. If that were the case, they would NEVER announce a date. Otherwise, something unforeseen could always happen and delay it. This clearly is not the case, as they always give notice of the date so people can buy at the pre-order discount. Because in December 2022, they said the release was "imminent". Then, when EA was announced, they said a "few months" away and likely sooner. I'm surprised you're surprised.
  4. They apparently have a date. Why they wouldn't reveal it in this Friday's newsletter is beyond me. I agree...its getting old.
  5. Remember…in DCS, even “imminent” can mean six months to a year.
  6. This is exactly how I felt about the Tomcat. The early access unveil trailer had me in tears. lol
  7. I wonder if ED wants the release of this map to coincide more closely with the release of the Strike Eagle. Maybe at some point offer a combo sale, sort of like they did with the Hornet and Super Carrier modules. I hope there is no connection because the Strike Eagle is already well overdue with no telling when we’ll actually get to fly it.
  8. The hype for this map was really building with preview videos from content producers on youtube, etc. I really thought release was right around the corner and then seemingly out of nowhere, Normandy 2.0 takes front and center. This seemed surprising. What happened? Has something occurred to delay the release of this map? Since Normandy 2.0, I haven't seen much about the status of Sinai. Is there any further news on when we can expect to see it? Thanks!
  9. I have the P3, but I am new to it. Just finished initial assembly last week. When it works as I expect it to, its amazing. However, these things are not plug and play and require a lot of tweaking, modification and trial and error. They come with no real instructions and the videos on youtube for assembly, while generally good, leave some very important questions unanswered and some steps unclear. Even so, assembly is the easy part. It is the balancing and setting up with the software that is really the difficult and sometimes frustrating part. if you can accept this, they are great. i disagree with the last poster that H2 with pitch and roll is enough for flight. You at least want 3 DOF...pitch, roll and yeah. Some will argue the 6 DOF rigs are even better for flight...they add heave, sway and a combination of all axis to the mix. Overall, I'm happy with the 3 DOF for now, but it is nice that they can be upgraded later on.
  10. Well, I just assembled my DOF Reality P3 a few days ago and have been configuring it, balancing it, testing it and tweaking the software settings. Building it was actually the easy part. These things are not simply plug and play and do require a lot of tinkering, modification and trial and error, but that first flight? Wow. I'm still pulling my thoughts together. Adding a physical dimension to virtual simming is something entirely new to my senses. It is definitely going to take some getting used to and it is going to take some time to learn the SRS software in order to tweak the settings properly to balance the most authentic and yet comfortable motion experience. Just as VR was a huge leap over trackIR, the DOF motion rig is another giant leap forward for me. It is another essential step in the never-ending pursuit of the most authentic flight experience available from the comfort of my home.
  11. Meh...with all that is on the near, or as ED likes to say, "imminent" horizon, I rather thought that was an anticlimactic dud.
  12. I reported this problem in the general module bug thread, but since it is persisting, I thought I'd create a separate thread. MT appears to run well overall, but I'm getting a CTD every time I try to load a mission with the Apache. This only happens with the Apache and no other aircraft so far. DCS crashes when loading training missions and when loading a fast mission that I create. Initially, when I first experienced the issue, if I kept trying, eventually I was able to successfully load a mission, but yesterday, DCS kept crashing and I had no success loading an Apache mission until I created a mission with clear weather and no clouds. i didn't have time to test this further without clouds, but will do so today. 13. Wishful thinking, bruh. Don't get your hopes up.
  14. Maybe we will have the Phantom before the Strike Eagle...at this rate, maybe even the Eurofighter!? ...I'm still amused that in mid-December 2022, RELEASE was described as "imminent". That's a quote.
  15. What a huge God damn frustrating disappointment. For a module that was supposed to be released in 2022 to potentially not hit in EA until practically mid-year 2023? After being told release was "imminent" in December? Sorry. I usually don't bitch about this kind of stuff, but the quoted comment is a tough pill to swallow.
  16. ^my mistake. Sorry for the false alarm. Interesting theory on the multi-threading. I’ll be happy with either update!
  17. The absence of a February update led me to optimistically speculate that 3/1 would also include the F15E. However, the Marxh update is not only for open beta, but for stable, too. That makes me nervous. Would they release a pre-order early access aircraft directly to stable? I dont think that is typical.
  18. Someone called March and I was like, “no way…they said “imminent” it has to be before then…” but the guy must be a fortune teller because I think he’s pretty close to the mark.
  19. Great news, but I’d be remiss to not remind everyone that Razbam used the word “imminent” back in December? Once again proving that nobody affiliated with DCS understands the meaning of that word.
  20. Stolen valor. It's an air force guy who clearly wishes he was a Marine. The level of detail in DCS never ceases to amaze. It is so realistic.
  21. Thanks for your post Gunnars Driver. The motherboard is an Asus Prime Z790-P Wi-Fi D5 DDR5 ATX w/ Wi-Fi 2.5tbt LA. Based on some advice in other forums, I’ve used process lasso to tinker with the e-cores on the varjo base exe. I’m not sure if this solved the problem or not, but let me tell you what I observed. When I started using process lasso, I was able to visually observe the functioning of the cores. What I see is that initially, only the top row of cores are active, but as soon as I start steamvr (and fps vr) a whole second row of cores becomes active and this resolves the problem with stuttering. So all I can deduce is that for whatever reason, until steamvr is active, only a portion of the cores are being utilized. Once steamvr kicks in, the full potential of the cpu is put to work, and the stutter is gone. Performance in game is fantastic. The best I’ve ever had on any rig. Curious to know your thoughts.
  22. What planet are you from? 60FPS in VR is "poor performance" and 90FPS is "low but marginally acceptable"? In my world, 60FPS in VR is very good and 90FPS is exceptional.
