This is not important, just something I noticed. And its not just the mission I took a screenshot for. In the documents for Bingo and Joker you have written lbs when I think you meant kg.

What was wrong with refueling in the KC-130. I did it all the time.

I personally just ignore it after requesting inbound. However, if you have an AI wingman and tell him to RTB within a short distance to a land base, make sure you land on the right side of the runway because right now there is a good chance the AI will land with you and if you slow down in the middle of the runway he will crash into you.

For DCS go with the 9700K. Intel purposely removed hyper threading to allow for up to 200% boost multiplier. DCS isn't well coded for multi core and so the boost will be a huge bonus.

New Z390 Build Upcoming - finally!
Kazius replied to dburne's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Sadly, the i9's won't be that great of a performance increase for a game like DCS that isn't well coded for multi core. A better processor would be the 9700k as Intel have removed the hyper threading from that cpu in order to allow for up 200% turbo multiplier. Also unlike the extreme line of processors the i9-9900k doesn't have the quad channel memory, so half the channels. This to can factor into the i9-9900k not being as good as the 9700k I run AIDA64 on a second monitor and have watched the cpu loads with my old i7-5820k and most of the time the half the threads are idle and there is only just brief spikes. i9's are nice for batch processing or maybe future games that are well coded for multi threading, but I actually think for DCS itself it is better to go with the speed boosts. So in some ways I am very curious to hear how his new system does. -
From what I am getting out of all the hype. It would probably be a very short list for Heatblur to just post what won't be implemented until later :)

So do you know if anyone has a good explanation on how to do level bombing in the Mig-21. Like what altitude and speed and how to reference visually when to release?
-
So just curious in what situation would a Mig-21 use two 4x - FAB-100 racks. Do these bombs have a preset interval? I noticed they all come off the rack at the same time so if you dive bomb 30-40 degrees they all hit in generally the same spot. So to me I would probably just take single rack FAB's for that. Now I couldn't find anywhere in the manual saying if you can drop individual or in pairs so I'm assuming these all have to be pickled in one shot. Only thing I can think of for a dropping 8 bombs at a time is interval bombing to bomb a strip. But if they all come off at the exact same time they will probably hit in roughly the same location. If it is amount of damage, why not just put on FAB-500's. Anyways, just curious of the purpose of the Mig-21 using these racks. I know the Mig-21 is more of an interceptor, but still fun to understand its other functions.

I had early access to Ark Survival Evolved for 1-2 years before release. It was in Alpha stage. I had early access to Minecraft for 2 years before release. It was in Alpha stage. I had early access to Lord of the Rings Online for 1.5 years (all that existed was the shire). It was in alpha stage. edit: I have had early access to Star Citizen for 6 years it will be in Alpha for at least another 2 years and probably not released until 2021 (if lucky). It's not just DCS. The term early access doesn't mean beta, it is a loose term and many game software developers have there own way of doing things.

I'm sure Razbam wishes coding went faster but I know from experience it take a lot of time and effort. Sometimes you even start something and have to redevelop to make things better. Sometimes the lead developers make something similar or make change that break what you were doing and you need to wait for them to finish or you need to redevelop to make your code work with theirs. Sometimes I feel sorry for the hate these developers get from people who have zero clue how hard developing things to simulate real world models as closely as possible actually is. First off, the Harrier in its current state is still pretty good. Yes it is missing features, but it doesn't mean it can't be used for what it can do in its current state. And with Razbam planning to keep improving in the future that is great. People here just need to be patient. As Decoy stated, you read about early access and if you buy the module you are technically agreeing to accept the condition that the module is early access and that it could take longer than expected to complete. It is an option they give to people and people have an option to not buy it in early access. I for one enjoy all of the modules all of the developers create and thank them for doing an amazing job with what there is so far. So thank you Razbam for what you have given us so far and I look forward to your continued development into the future.

I'm going to take a guess and say the GPS guided weapons in his screenshot are likely not coming until they get he TPOD implemented.

You didn't mention the AGM-154 JSOW. And need to ask the question: Do we get both A variant and C variant of the AGM-154?

I purchased the Viggen in the early summer. It did have some issues but I think Heatblur fixed most of it now and I have flown the paint off it this past month and loving it. So far zero crashes for DCS itself. You might need do as corvinus said. Only bug I know of so far is sometimes my kneeboard doesn't work but I just respawn the plane to fix that.

did you forget to change the tpod to laser instead of TRNL or MRKR. I have myself forgotten in the past. Attached 3 images, my cursor is where I mean. edit: Tested 4 sorties and it is definitely working. Also reminded myself how I'm not a fan of the tpod in the harrier, its ability to zoom sucks and lack of ability to set anything to hotas makes me sad.
-
I just thought of something. Are you talking about point mode in T-Pod? I couldn't get it working so if that is when your having an issue changing targets it might be broken. Since I couldn't get point mode working all my targets were done on non-moving targets. I also just noticed on Razbam bug tracker that point mode is being looked at with the support of ED: https://www.razbamsimulations.com/index.php Edit: I could test again with a hot start so I can test the point mode.

Used 2 MavE's both hit there targets. Also tested 2 GBU-16's both hit there targets. Also I am on open beta. Maybe it is your install?

going to load up DCS and test out for you. Haven't flown the harrier for a month or more so I might not reply for a couple hours.

I use the two partitions at the top of the HUD glass to line up with the light on the back of the refueling pod and then keeping the light roughly in that area. Then also once connected use a point on the side of the tankers fuselage to know if I'm moving forward or back. So either the emblem, or the 3 windows or whatever else works for you and keep that point near the partition for your canopy.

I actually found the Mig-21 pretty nice to land. Get speed to 400 by around 5-10km out. Gear down, full flaps and trim for hands off and about 5-10m/s decent rate. Keep the touch down goal marker on the runway near but not on the bottom of the HUD. Gently flare at 10-20 meters. Only reducing throttle a little bit. Then once rear wheels touch you can throttle down. I don't know if the plane is meant to be aerobraked but it aerobrakes nicely too :) For practice at first, you don't need to touchdown. Practice getting the plane configured (gear out, full flaps) for the 350 kph and 5-10m/s decent, with hands off trim and end of runway near bottom of HUD glass. Then wave off, increase to military thrust, raise gear, flaps off, and go fly around to practice that again. Once comfortable with getting configured for landing, then try some touch and goes. I myself just bought the module. I'm loving the hands on feel of the aircraft. It is a nice challenge. Personally I still need to learn to navigate and then use weapons myself. But still a really nice module if you want a more hands on experience.

I have planes in a mission I have been building on those locations and they work. Only issue I had is the planes when taxiing to take off would get jammed up. I moved my AWACs and Tanker to Dubai Intl then back to Al Minhad and it fixed them so they did taxi properly. So maybe if the repair doesn't work you can try what I did. It might be due to the change for hold short request to take off (Thank you ED for finally making this a bit better).

I'd love to see you guys in a few months from now after maybe having a chance to get more comfortable with the Sim. As pilots in reality, you literally flew by the seat of your pants, or should I say flew by feeling the forces (maybe that makes you Jedi's). The longer you fly a sim, the more you build up other senses. However, I don't know if this is bad to do for someone who is still flying as you are.

[REPORTED] Possible F-18C Lot 20 AI air to air refuel bug
Kazius replied to Kazius's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks Deano, I will look into the ME and see if I can find where to set it so they are not allowed to use AB until after Fence In point or even IP and maybe at takeoff from carriers or airfields if loaded with near max loads. -
From things I've read about aircraft, over stressing issues are usually seen in the fuselage first because aircraft are designed for flex in the wings for the purpose of handling loads.
-
I've never payed a lot of attention to this detail. But as developers they are probably wanting to get all the systems completed in the module before they tweak the flight model and systems to perfection. Sometimes adding things break things later on. Also, tweaking is best done with all systems completed. Then when they are tweaking the flight model they can make sure it works with everything they coded in. I'd say keep giving them data though. As we have seen, the moderators keep a close eye on things and I'm sure they forward these concerns to the developers whether it is in bug reports or not.

Question. If I already have FC3 and most of the planes in MAC, is there a good reason to get MAC still? Or is it just the replacement for FC3.
