Currently reworking the pit to the C model. The good news is that we have a somewhat believable flight model, it will be SFM. Still some carrier launch and recovery bugs that we have to work on but again it launches and traps on the carrier. Had a test the other night with I think 8 T45s in the stack doing traps and launches. Internal testing. The other news. Because we are reworking the pit to the C model it's somewhat in a state of disarray. Some of the team are hard at work on a bigger project right now and we are trying to pull it together ASAP but there is still a lot of work to do. Rest assured we want to see this aircraft as a staple in DCS as part of the fleet of aircraft that support the full complement of training type and carrier capable aircraft. Will update as more milestones are completed. Thanks for keeping up the energy and sticking with us. Cheers! -Particleman

Quick update. Quick update. Successful testing continues with the flight model and overall land and carrier based functionality. Currently working on the pit overhaul to the C model and hope to update with images as soon as we get something not completely terrible. Enjoy the image above from our internal flight testing this week! We continue to press on! Cheers, -Particleman

Still Progressing. Reworking for the C model It has a ways to go BUT it is definitely something we are still committed to. Keep the faith. Little more then 2 weeks. ;P

T45 Progress Update Hello. So we are still working on this mod. We have decided that people are more interested in the C model so we have been evaluating what that would mean. i.e. Remodelling the pit basically. We have also been actively working to try and get it converted to an EFM but it's been a bit slow going. This is not the only project that is being worked on so it's not our full time focus. I don't want to make any promises but we do fly it, we can drop ordinance and it will takeoff and recover to both land and ship based ops in it's current state. We ultimately want to see if we can get the multicrew base functionality in before we release the first version of it as well as the C model conversion. Hope that info helps and when some of those major milestones are reached we'll be sure to update the community. Our goal is to add another highly desired aircraft to the rotation of airframes pilots can experience. Just for the record, as I think we stated before, this will be a free mod for DCS. Cheers! -Particleman

Update on the airframe model. These are renders in the DCS engine model viewer. Getting more detail in. Also I fixed the vortex gens as that was on my list. Nice catch Joshloar10. ;)

Art update on the T45 airframe model. Raw model is almost complete. Color, Roughmet and Normal maps in progress. Flight model being tuned. Still a bit out but it's getting there.

Well damn! Would love to see how they pulled that off. That's great work. Will have to see if we can collaborate and get ours working this way. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes it's a camera view custom setup to the back seat. Entire cockpit is being constructed right now in tandem with the airframe. When we have some solid images we will definitely share them. @Silo01 - If that is true, which I'd love to see but don't think that's the case, then that's a huge breakthrough and would hope that they share that info with the mod community. I doubt it but hope they have. There are alot of features we would love to have access to in DCS, 'Buddy Tanking' for instance has been a huge one as we also have an S3-Viking in development but without that feature it's just a basic flyable aircraft. As we have more info and progress with the project we'll post it here, on our FB page and our VNAO website. Thanks for the questions and keep em coming.

Not true multi-crew. You should know that's not possible without the SDK. But yes we have it setup so you can jump into an aircraft then jump to the backseat of the T45.

We currently have an "Instructor View" working in the aircraft so a second person can ride along in the back and do what you said.

VNAO VR Ready Room Mod
Particleman replied to MadMaxter's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Dark room I just posted this in the mod download comments but will repost here. I've been told the ED shaders have gotten darker and is a mistake. It happened after the original images of the room were taken and should be fixed on the ED side soon. I don't want to update the room textures now due to the fact that when the shader fix is in they will then be too bright. I'll keep an eye out for the update and post again when things are looking brighter. -
Better VR loading menu. Or you could download the one I made so you don't have to look at a very old model in a lo res hanger. Get it here. VNAO VR Ready Room. Fully customizable for your squadrons needs. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3302055/ Enjoy! -Particleman

Adding more functionality for aircraft. I'd like to ask if there is a way to add specific SimShaker audio functions for things like: -F18 Module - Dropping the launch bar - Hooking up to the cat - Launching from the cat - Trapping on carrier, rapid deceleration - Connecting to aerial refueling basket There are more but these would be great to add. Is there support to add this on my own or is this something that needs to be done on the developer level? Cheers! -Particleman

Quick question. Say you want to revise the collision model on an aircraft but don't have the original art for the model. If you just export the collision_shell is that sufficient enough to have it be picked up by the .lod file? I'm finding that when I preview the collision and the edm in the model viewer they line up perfectly but when I call the collision in the lod file in the /shape directory at runtime it appears that the aircraft is not picking up the new collision and immediately exploding at spawn. Is exporting both visual and collision at the same time a requirement? If you export them together does the 'Export Selected' .edm export create both the edm AND the collision .edm? Been searching for an answer to this and haven't found any solid data. Thanks for any info you guys have regarding this. -Particleman

Anyone have any doc/process to set an arg value on spawn of aircraft? I.E. I'd like to set wings to be in folded position on spawn for a carrier based aircraft. This is on a custom modded, player controlled new aircraft. The animation and args are setup and I can fold the wings when in the aircraft but they spawn unfolded. Thanks for any advice and tips in advance. Cheers! -Particleman

VNAO VR Ready Room Mod
Particleman replied to MadMaxter's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Menu located at front of room. So the reason we decided to put the menu to the right is so you can enjoy the environment more but still interact with the menu when needed. Originally we planned on mapping the menu up where the projection screen is at the front of the room but getting the tracking to match up was more difficult then necessary. The full realization of this room is to have it as a place able structure in the mission editor, which we are testing internally, so the squad can assemble in the room, brief the mission and just jump into the jets without having to load to another mission. The added benefit here is that our 103 Plat Mod uses the Hornet manual so each pilot can use that as a briefing guide so they can follow along with the commander for mission call outs and notams. So in summary the reason it is there is purely aesthetic. If you really want to have it spawn at the front of the room just modify the rotation and position in the SceneVR.lua in the Scripts>DemoScenes folder. In addition for anyone who wants to dress up the room with additional models or deco you can add them in this lua and they should show up in your room. It will take a bit to tune the positions but it's possible. Cheers and hope this info helps clear up our reasoning for the choices made. -Particleman VFA-103 OPS -
Just wrapped up alpha development of our VNAO DCS Ready Room VR Mod. Here are some screens and a quick video. Let us know what you think in the comments below. Keep in mind that this project is still in development and could change direction at any stage in the process. What would you like to see done here? https://www.dropbox.com/s/33yazi8p2w9ji69/VNAO%20DCS%20Ready%20Room%20Mod%20v1.0.mov?dl=0
