  1. I really like the feedback from the devs and the pace of progress seen on the Mig-21 :) FinnJ
  2. I agree... I bought the Mig-21 with some fear about how this pre-beta would run, but the communication in here is really good and makes me feel more secure that this beta will evolve satisfactory. FinnJ
  3. Don´t change it back to LEFT !! I have updated and it´s back to RIGHT and the Autolpilt works, so I assume the developers has made the correct fix. If the AP doesn´t work for You, then there is something else amiss. FinnJ
  4. Not quite seperated.. Either fire MG131 And MG151 - Or Fire MG131 alone. FinnJ
  5. Thansk alot for Your feedback EvilBivol-1. The latest update did onyl include the autopilot fix, but it´s nice to see You back here and comment on some of the still missing features. FinnJ
  6. Mi-8MTV2 unable to turn on autopilot pitch/roll channel during training Yes father [emoji6] You are right, i have voiced my opinion many times in this forum - maybe too many. Time to stop. Next time BST breaks something that makes it unflyable, and I find a fix, I rather keep it to myself and those guys I'm in contact with. The rest might then wait for an official fix. Waiting for such fixes are just part of the beta programme. But I'm out now...... FinnJ
  7. 1. "ED is under absolutely ZERO obligation to cater to your wants in regards to beta software" - True if it wasn´t sold as pre-order, but at the moment You take money, You do have an obligation. 2. "...clearly labelled as BETA and WIP..." - WIP means "work in progress" - where is the progress ? 3. "If you don't like BETA then wait 5 years" - The longlivety of gaming software is very seldome 5 years. 4. "At that rate we would never have a finished module" - With Belsimteks businessmodel we also haven´t got a finished module. Sorry for clogging up this forum, but none of Your defences seems to hold. The point is that I don´t demand updated files now, but at least I find it fair if Belsimtek would drop in here and tell whats up with their modules for the next DCS update, even if it means 2 month from now. FinnJ
  8. AlphaOneSix.. I think many flightsimmers want to back 3rd party developement teams by pre-ordering. To buy something that's clearly not finished, but also has been told not to be is really a matter of trust. I bought the pre-order beta version of the Mi-8 back in 30-April-2013 and paid 49.99$. I really did that in order to support Belsimtek. At that time the Huey was not quite out of beta (we could also debate if that really is out of beta at this moment). A year after at April 2014 the last known updated files has been added and nothing has been done since. Thats almost 1½ year since the pre-order. No comments has been made to tell about the plans - simply no communicaton has been made, apart from EvilBivol-1's announcement about the manual. I was one of those confident backers paying the high price of 49.99$. In the meantine, where it has been updated and come nearer completion, the price has dropped to 24.99$ - thats half the price. For a full release version getting older, that would perfectly be Ok for me. First and foremost I doubt that You would disagree with me that a development time of 1½ year with no progress the last ½ year can be expexted fair and expected. I also doubt that You would disagree that it isn´t fair for those early backers who paid 49.99$, taking a far greater risc investing their hard earned money, now can see this halfbaked product beeing sold for ½ the price they did pay for more than a year ago. I really like DCS World and it´s modules, also those from Belsimtek, since they are great for what they are, but they clearly aren´t finished yet. Instead there seems to be a steady release of fresh pre-order betas, that seemingly also are stuck in developement once the price droppes and the income declines. It´s simply not a fair business model, so personally I won´t put more money into Belsimtek modules, before those I allready got start to show firm progress. It´s absolute time for Belsimtek to show up here and give an update on whats going on. The silence from them only feeds the growing uneasiness from the customers. FinnJ
  9. Following this announcement from Wags: "Regarding the announced cancellation of by Virtual Patriots of their L-39 project, there needs to be a few items clarified after the rather incomplete explanation provided by the Virtual Patriots team that painted an inaccurate picture: Eagle Dynamics has had an L-39 in development for several years. However, we put it on the back-burner after we awarded the Virtual Patriots team a license to create their own. A very lengthy amount of time was awarded to them and we feel that it is now no longer sound to hold off on our internal L-39 any longer. All third parties enter a license agreement with the full knowledge that they are not granted exclusive rights to develop the aircraft for DCS. Over two weeks ago, the head of the Virtual Patriots team was informed of this decision and was supportive of it. The Virtual Patriots L-39 license agreement was not cancelled. They are free to sell their project well before the Eagle Dynamics version. However, given the massive amount of work we still believe needs completed, we see that this would be difficult for them. This was one of the first 3rd party license agreements we granted. Our requirements for licenses has changed drastically. This same project (even in its current state after two years), would not have passed current 3rd party project requirements to get a license now. This is all that I and Eagle Dynamics have to say on the matter. " I need to ask what the terms are for getting a license ? Does the rules in the license agreement also hold true for other 3rd party developers and partners ? I ask, and I know I´m a PITA, because one thing is that the developement time for a project runs for too long to be acceptable, but we also have another 3rd party / partner who shows little progress on their developement for modules allready sold as open betas. Do I need to mention UH-1 and Mi-8 ? From a customer side prolonged projects doesn´t mean anything, cause we did not pay for them, but for beta modules we ahev paid for, developement progress should be first priority. May I ask about ED's thoughts on this ? FinnJ
  10. Nice to cu back here EvilBivol. It sounds promising with the Flight Manual. I know that You are not responsible for the coding and modelling, but can You shed som light on the following missing items: (From the product page): DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight is a highly realistic PC simulation of the Mi-8MTV2, a combat transport and fire support helicopter and an upgraded variant of one of the most widely produced helicopters in the world - the Russian Mi-8 (NATO reporting name ‘Hip'). Having serving in over 50 countries in a wide variety of models over the past 40 years, the Mi-8 is a revered veteran of countless military operations and civilian services around the world. Developed by Belsimtek and Eagle Dynamics, the team behind the hit title DCS: UH-1H Huey, DCS Mi-8MTV2 continues to deliver exceptional realism and immersive gameplay within the DCS World virtual battlefield. The simulation features accurate modeling of all primary aircraft systems, avionics, and proper functionality of nearly all cockpit switches and controls. Flight and other dynamics are modeled using real-time physics calculations and carefully tuned using actual Mi-8MTV2 documentation and pilots deeply involved in development and testing. The result is not only the most realistic Mi-8 reproduction on the PC, but a comprehensive helicopter model that correctly presents complex dynamic effects particular to helicopter flight, such as: autorotation, vortex ring state (VRS), translational lift, and many others. As part of the DCS World battlefield, you are placed in the cockpit of the Mi-8MTV2 to fly combat transport and support missions as the left pilot, right pilot or gunner. Equipped for close fire support, the helicopter can be armed with unguided rockets, gun pods, and on-board machine guns. In the transport role, a cargo of up to four tons can be carried internally or three tons on an external sling system to deliver and retrieve supplies in a wide variety of terrain and weather conditions. A series of single missions and a handcrafted, immersive campaign plunge you into the heat of battle in the DCS World battlefield of countless AI and a variety of player-controlled fighter and attack aircraft, helicopters, and ground units. Get online to play with or against other DCS players in a synthetic online battlefield. A quickstart guide and interactive training help you get started quickly while the comprehensive Flight Manual details the helicopter's systems and operational procedures. A wide variety of gameplay options allows each player to tailor their difficulty level as required. Key Features of DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight include: Unmatched flight physics providing the most realistic and dynamic conventional helicopter experience on the PC Multiple player positions, including pilot, co-pilot, flight engineer, and door gunner Accurate and highly detailed 3D cockpit featuring six-degrees-of-freedom technology compatible with head-tracking devices Interactive cockpit controls that allow you to operate systems using the mouse Accurate modeling of the Mi-8MTV2 instruments, weapons, engines, radios, fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems Highly detailed Mi-8MTV2 external 3D model, liveries, and weapons Accurate audio environment based on custom Mi-8MTV2 sound samples Immersive, handcrafted campaign with a variety of transport and fire support missions Training with interactive and video lessons Multiplayer coop mode for crew members of the same helicopter under development for a later update Developed in close cooperation with actual Mi-8MTV2 operators back on top ^ Mi-8MTV2 - General Design and Mission Overview The Mi-8MTV2 is designed to enhance the mobility of ground forces and provide fire support on the battlefield. The primary missions performed by the helicopter include: Tactical air assault Air mobility of ground forces Transport of internal and external cargo Destruction of ground targets on the forward edge of the battle area (FEBA) and within tactical depth, such as: infantry, lightly armored vehicles, anti-tank positions, artillery, radar and reconnaissance positions, anti-aircraft defense positions, forward command posts, helicopters and other aircraft positioned on the ground Airborne reconnaissance Airborne mine placement Search and rescue Medical evacuation The internal and external payload of the helicopter can be configured as required to perform the above missions, including fitting of armament, additional fuel tanks, internal and externally slung cargo, medical stretchers, etc. The helicopter can be operated in daytime or nighttime and under visual or instrument meteorological conditions. The crew consists of three members: the Pilot-Commander, Pilot-Navigator, and Flight Engineer. The text highlightet in red are features still missing. Looking int the files, it's clear that no real progress has been mad for almost 6 month. What are the plans ? Note that I don´t ask for a firm release date, but rather some words on what to expect in terms of progress and timeframe. I think we deserve som info. Best regards FinnJ
  11. I won´t say I have regret it, since both the Huye, Mi-8 and F-86F shows great potential. The Huey is very much close to be regarded as finished, but I´m disappointed that they haven´t got their acts together and finished the rest (Some manual items, and the EGT). The Mi-8 is not bad either, but the total lack of a flight manual as well as seeing the project merely at a standstill, whils still releasing new beta modules bothers me. The Mi-8 has hardly been updated since April 2014 ansd still lacks alot of the promised features. I bought the F-86F and find it very promising too, but I regret having bought it due to the Mi-8 not seeing progress. I really fear that it might end up like the Mi-8 once they release the next eta module - the Mig-15. Personally I won´t buy the Mig-15 before I see real progress on the 3 other modules, or at least a clear statement from Belsimtek why there is no progress. I truely find that ED should take a serious talk with Belsimtek, because their businessmodel also afaect ED. Im not saying that I won´t buy the next ED module (BF-109K), but I certainly will not buy it either before having seen progress on the FW-190D9. I simply find that my DCS install now has been filled with more than enough beta modules. But the main problem here is, that I have doubts about wether Belsimtek actually reads this forum. All I have seen is a single Beta tester who told he would forward our gripes to belsimtek, but no feedback has been given yet. FinnJ
  12. I have tried to tell ED that via a support ticket, but ED's stance on this is that it´s not their business, since Belsimtek is a 3rd party developer and it´s their problem. In other posts ED suddently tells that Belsimtek are not just 3rd party developers, but partners. I´m the one who found how to do the interim fix, but from my side it was merely meant as a stop gap fix until Belsimtek got their acts together and make their own official fix. I find it sad that people who buy the Mi-8 module now, risc not finding how to fix this issue and stand back with a product thats doesn´t really work. People should not find it necessary to search for a fix in this forum after the Mi-8 module has got broken, especially not serveral weeks after the bug has been reported and a fix has been found. FinnJ
  13. Also noet that air containing more moisture will expand more than dry air. I think most people have found that their cars perform better in moisterous/foggy weather than in dry air at the same temperature. FinnJ
  14. It is beta and has been so for quite a while. If progress had been shown, then I wouldn't see a problem either. But the Mi-8 has been at a standstill since April. In the meantime they have send out the F-86F as a beta. FinnJ
  15. And why no soley Mi-8 Patch ? I thought aircraft/heli addons are modules, so I see no problem. Actually we are not only talking about patches (bugfixes), but rather about further developement of a beta version that has been at a standstill since April 2014. If it had been a closed beta, then there would not have been any issues with that - since then we would not have paid for it yet. But with a businessmodel that builds on pre-pay, they simply should commit themself to finish each module i a reasonable time. FinnJ
  16. It´s not because I´m not happy....I´m just not "Babble happy":clown: I´m happy with DCS, KA-52, A-10C, P-51D, FC3 and CA. It´s not that I don´t like the UH-1, MI-8 and F-86F. It´s just the slow progress that bothers me. Especially the Mi-8, where no major changes has occured since April this year. FinnJ
  17. +1 I really like all what these Belsimtek products promise, meaning that both Helis and the F-16F are great. But they never seem to finish stuff. I´m not sure, but I guess that the higehst point of income for a certain modue is when it´s pre-released. Therfater sales of that module quickly drops and thus they loose real interest in finish it. I have now 3 betas (Huey I regaqrd as being beta too) and I won´t buy another Belsim module before I have seen at least 2 of them beig developed to a state where they can be regarded as release versions. I did not feel let down with the A-10C and P-51D betas, since they where delivered within reasonable time. Therfore I bought the FW-190D9 and probably might buy the BF-109K. I don´t care wether Wags call Belsimtek 3rd party or "Partners". While it might make sense for him to distinguish, it doesn´t for me. FinnJ
  18. Honestly I dont expect any set date or the like to be announced here. While I know wich modulses ae developed by Belsimtek and wich are done by ED, I just feel it´s increasingly frustrating to see the very slow progress on especially the Beksimtek modules. The MI-8 in particular stands out. The latest files that has been updated stems back from april 2014 and very little, apart from introducing new bugs, has been done. I really want to back ED and 3rd party developers by buying their products, also if it+s beta, but since we actually have paid for them, I think it´s fair to expect a certain progress. Maybe the price, the day it will be released will be even lower than what we pre-paid, since it´s allready regarded as an older module. In my opinion, modules should not be released before the developers has a certain believe that it can be finished into a release version within 6 month. If more developement is needed, then we are talking Alpha rather than Beta versions and alpha versions should really never be released in public. FinnJ
  19. Just a simple question... How often can we expect updates ? I now see that the BF-109K can be pre-paid... I allready got the UH-1, MI-8, F-86F and FW-190D9, that all can be regarded as being beta (The UH-1 is release version, but I find that there are still items that makes it beta). The UH-1, MI-8 and F-86F are developed by the ED partner Belsimtek, but progress on these betas are really slow in my opinion. I hope that it will go quicker with the FW-190D9. Bottom line is, that I don´t want to get into yet another beta with the BF-109K, if progress will be as slow as the other mentioned modules. FinnJ
  20. Note that there is a guard that needs to be flipped inorder to be able to push the button for raising the landing gear. FinnJ
  21. What makes You think the tailwheel is broken in the second video ? It´s a free castoring tailwheel. FinnJ
  22. Try to read through this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117948 Post #5 and #9 explains how to setup the weapons system for dropping bombs using the Co-pilot panel. FinnJ
  23. Here is take off and landing video. No take off assistance. Curves for aileron, elevator and rudder at 15. I know that I initially come in too fast. FinnJ
  24. In real life we would be able to feel the slighetst lateral movement like skid, yaw and turn. Sitting on an normal chair with a 10 inch stick and rudders with no feedback, looking through tunnelvision into a monitor or even 3 monitors, simply doesn't give the all important subtile feedback and periphical vision You would get in real life. Many expect that developers are able to deliver us 1:1 replicas, but in the end all we get (and what we paid for) are only a virtual aircraft flown with the very same hardware controls we use for jet-airliners, GA-Aircraft, combat jyes, helicopters etc. I belong to the croed of hardcore flightsimmers who strive for the ultimate realism, but having been around this business fo almost 2 decades I also know that compromises and ommissions has to be accepted. In 10 years we will wonder how on earth we where pleased with the simultors we fly today and that how it should be. Apart from some angryness about some of the beta modules (not the FW-190D9), I still find that DCS is among the leaders in flightsimulation. That doesn´t mean it´s perfect, but it´s still very good and immersive. FinnJ
