Thanks for your input but I’m not talking about losing speed at all, quite the opposite because in the experience with any Roll angle and increasing speed the pitch attitude will decrease (along with FPM I know). Could you also try this out just so that I can know if it is an issue with my install or a bug, either way I’ll be a happy camper... Cheers

You can manually start the update by running the updater from the bin folder in your install location. -
Not really sure what you mean but if you download the manual from the top of the page and look at pages 37-40 there is a description of the real HOTAS, the TM stick is virtually identical to the F16 stick and you can workout what goes where on the throttles. The default control mapping is very good but there are some changes you’ll want to make to the throttles, for example I’ve added JPS start, throttle on and off, and a few other tweaks like removing the master power button (currently the flaps button)and using it for gear up/ down :)

Yeah love the sounds on the Viper, the engine whine in the background makes it really easy to set or adjust engine thrust. I posted this in the real life videos forum: ED have it almost spot on!

Yep I gues my oringinal post title was probably incorrect I should have called it Autopilot Pitch Attitude Hold switch ONLY engages Roll Attitude Hold. The fact remains for me that the pitch element is not respected (ie, no pitch hold that I can rely on), I was initially unsure of how the AP worked on the F16, now that I have read and been told how it is supposed to work I am convinced it isn't right. Yes the paddle is a nice easy way to adjust the system. BTW we can not post anything out of manuals on here, do yourself a favour and delete that part... I have not engaged the AP whilst exceeding limits. Cheers

${1} Saw this one years ago, its an airshow practice in Barcelona Spain from 2011. Took me a while to find it again. 20 minutes of pure goodness from taxi, takeoff, display, landing and taxi in. Agreed that is confusing. In my mind (not a pilot but have used MSFS since 2000) Roll attitude obviously does just that but the pitch attitude is used in any situation where workload is high and you want to engage autopilot, Hold a set attitude to either climb or descend either straight ahead OR whilst in a turn / Hold. Like i said this is just me and what I have come to expect from an autopilot. Having said that good speed management is vital so that the AOA doesn’t increase. Granted in a fighter jet this mode may not be used much / if at all and it would be good to get some real life examples of which modes are used in different flight regimes.

OK well if that is true then why is my pitch not being held? As you can see from the track (and from my experience of this issue) the pitch is not held in this mode just the roll attitude. Edit: You are correct that the roll should be engaged when a pitch mode is selected.... didn't mean to sound s***8y but my pitch attitude hold isn't working... :) Track attached. As title suggests: Pitch Attitude Hold switch engages Roll Attitude Hold. This can be verified by selecting a Roll attitude and engaging Pitch Attitude Hold then after a few seconds pull the paddle in for another few seconds and watching the Roll Hold release. After release of paddle the previous Roll attitude is resumed. Thanks and I’ll try and get a track file tomorrow.

Probably already reported but I can not refuel the external tanks on the ground, instead I need to re-arm and remove tanks then re-arm and add tanks. If these steps are not followed then only internal fuel is replenished. Thanks

So when I’m in a slight bank the pitch attitude hold only holds the bank angle... This can be checked by pulling the paddle briefly and watching the bank angle change back toward centre, release the paddle and it will revert to the last held bank angle. All this whilst the pitch of the nose is slowly declining. Am in not understanding something here? Thanks

Me too, definitely rolls over time and the trim is too much to counter the roll.

I noticed that you enabled active pause so I don’t know if that is the issue, also near the end of the video it did move? I also fly in VR and I have no issue with the heading select bug and that is how I realised the autopilot heading function isn’t working yet. -

That reminded me, I have had that too. I couldn’t get rid of the tone when I was pointed at a source of heat, even a plane on the ground would set it off. Stranger than that when pointed towards a plane 30 miles away would also activate the lock tone. Using the instant action ready on the ramp at Nevada.

Is the autopilot finished? I ask as I can only get the Altitude Hold to work, I can’t get Heading Select or Attitude Hold to work at all... Thanks
