One thing I noticed that Gonky said in his video was that the speedbrake isn’t used in the break? (23:30 in the video) I think that this is the first time I’ve heard that? Great videos, looked like fun was had!

Just seen this thread, yeah I have that problem too. I will also try the fix and put the water to high. Thanks

Nope, at least I’ve now switched back to Rift audio and all is good. Can’t explain why I don’t have crashes anymore but I’m really happy about it!
-
Hi, yeah I don’t seem to have loss of audio but I have read that on the forum before. I have a pretty old MB and all my USB ports are used (3x USB3 and a bunch of USB 2?). I also have to use a non powered hub for my TMWH stick and button box attached via front panel. Not ideal and I plan to upgrade very soon. Specs are z77 MB with 16GB of RAM, 3570k@4.0 (most crashes were @3.4), 1080, 500GB SSD..

I’m not sure yet as I need to reverse the test so I will amend this post when I have. Since I got a Rift a few weeks ago I have been plagued by constant DCS crashes on PG, Nevada and Caucuses with the F/A18. The longest flight I managed was about 55 mins but most would crash within 20 mins or less. One of the Windows events was AudioDG crashing so I decided to use my old USB headphones instead of the Rift audio which I disabled. Since then I have not had a crash and managed several flights of more than 2 hours! Like I said at the top I will re-use the Rift audio tonight and see what happens... Has anyone else experienced this? Cheers Dan

Thanks for clearing that up, you’re right, it is confusing...

Not sure, for me with the rift 65-67 is like a child’s size cockpit, 45 was like a giants cockpit. I will have to measure my actual IPD and compare to the software set IPD. I’m not sure yet if they are linked as IPD usually just helps with focusing (like my Fatshark FPV goggles for quad racing).

Thanks, that worked a treat. The default was 63.5 but a value of about 57-60 looks much better, I even thin that I would fit in the seat now.... Cheers
-
Thanks I’ll give that a try tomorrow.

Apologies for not searching the forums but I just bought a Rift and oh my *** the cockpit in the F18 is absolutely amazing! My question is how to make everything about 20% bigger? It seems as though I’m in the cockpit of a glider, am I missing something with the zoom or is it hard coded to be they size? Cheers

Awesome video thanks, I can now repeatedly take on 11-12000lb of fuel having watched it. One thing for me though is that I find myself drifting if I try and look at the AF symbol. I found it better for me if I focused on the angle of the left engines once in place. Cheers Edit: I should add that it is because I use a fairly low FOV that requires me to move my head to track the AF symbol.

I would monitor this thread in the mean time. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=219093&page=9

There’s an issue that only some of us are experiencing in that we can not use PG or NTTR maps at all. It’s been reported and is being looked at so I would say either take the gamble or wait.

[FIXED with HOTFIX 3] 2.5.3 openbeta crash(Nevada and Persian gulf)
danny875 replied to Sonoda Umi's topic in Game Crash
Is there any way to re-apply the patch and forcing http as the method? Just thinking out loud that maybe the peer to peer method spread the bad files or something? I usually use the http method but not for this patch... -

I'm also having these issues with NTTR & PG. Mine hangs on the loading screen when selecting any mission or instant Mission in those terrains. If I create a quick mission then it crashes and hence the log attached. Windows 7 x64 here dcs.log-20180830-183750.zip -
FA-18C difficulty in the internal management of the cockpit
danny875 replied to Mudeagle's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I just found this old post when googling which is better. https://forums.naturalpoint.com/viewtopic.php?t=6493 Worth a read of all 15 posts, I’m not sure if anything has changed much since then in terms of concept. I wouldn’t like to wear a hat and headphones... -

I’ve been using the track clip pro for years and it’s great if you use headphones as it clips onto them. It’s a little delicate and you’ll always want to put your headphones down so you don’t damage the sensors. I think I’m using the trachiR 5 software. It’s been a long time since I thought about it, maybe I’ve got the 4 with 5 software? Dunno. -
Yeah me too, it gets in the way on final approach.

In that case... the seat belt would have to go around your neck in order to blackout from it :) Edit: neck has been mentioned already... oh well I though it was funny

I thought I’d answered it on the second post? Don’t use the software finger lifts. At least that is what I thought you were asking about. Anyway, we’re all happy now so thanks for the advice FZG. -

Ok I’ve just reversed the lift gate so that it is now at the top part of the throttle movement. I have set curves of -16 on both throttle axis so that o get 100% throttle before the gate . My question now is how to get back to a linear throttle (ie remove the curve) but still maintain the functionality of the gate/ AB detent? -

Ok thanks I have a warthog with the detent at the start as in the default A10 configuration. Are you saying that I just need to move the detent? That would be easy I think. Edit: I’ve just had a look at the throttles and don’t know what I need to do (if anything is possible by default) to move the detent to the top part of the range. I have never had a look inside or removed the detent plate.
