  1. I’m sure that I’ve had this once with the F14, she would not launch from cat 2. I decoupled, turned around and used cat 3 I think, strange
  2. Ok found out why in this post, either method works... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=237464
  3. Thanks is this the correct procedure or a workaround? Just thinking of work load...
  4. As the title suggests how do you un-designate a target after using LTWS? I have one target at 12 o’clock and STT works as expected in that I can lock him up and receive target info the HUD then un-designate him using the NWS pinky switch. If I use LTWS mode the HUD target box updates with the scan pulse and a second designate will lock him up. Using the un-designate button returns to LTWS mode but can not be completely un-designated as the HUD will not remove the target box around him. I can switch LTWS off but whilst returning to STT mode I can not undesignate him as before? I have to re-designate and get a STT lock and only then I can completely undesignate him... Does this sound right?
  5. Don’t forget that there was an “unrealistic” TDC option added so that you don’t have to hold down the TDC depress button to slew. Have you tried that option in the settings specific to the F18?
  6. Change the drop down menu to F14 RIO and assign a button to get back to pilot seat. You are most probably trying to assign an F14 Pilot button.
  7. Just tried it and my trim worked fine. Steps: Level out, engage alt hold and auto pilot. Disengage autopilot (alt hold disabled a automatically when disengaged auto pilot) Trim functions as expected. I have not updated since the F-4 came out so I don’t have the hot patch installed so maybe it was broken then?
  8. Don’t quote me on numbers but the Concorde could only have something like 6 ins waypoints so the crew would reuse the previous WPs after flying to them and I put new coordinates for them.
  9. Maybe yeah, but I’m not sure if I’m right about heatblur doing anything to ensure they work off the bat but that is my experience. True, but like I said there are no curves added by me, just a linear throttle set. Do you have a TMWH? Why are you having to add a curve? I must admit that I was surprised that I didn’t have to set one. Attached is my current throttle setup at max MIL power, the area below this is AB separated by the detent.
  10. For me it worked right off the bat, just assigned the throttle axis and the detent in the TMWH was set perfectly, no curves needed. Given that it worked straight away I can only assume that Heatblur had this in mind when designing the F14b?
  11. Or do what I copied from others and once installed correctly so that you need to lift over the gate, have a look at how the plastic piece (already supplied with TMWH) actually lifts the throttles up and then remove it and remove some of the plastic with a electricians knife so that the angle of lift is much less severe. That will enable you to push through the gate without lifting. Works a treat! And it’s free. If you look at the photo of mine you can see just how little you need to remove from the leading edges on both sides. Doesn’t look pretty as I didn’t have a file so did it with a knife but just keep refitting and test, then shave off some more until you get the pressure right that is needed for your taste.
  12. Thanks for this, my VR experience seems smother now and reading panels is easier!
  13. I think it is because the logic of the manoeuvre flaps matches that of the soeedbrake (aft for extension). I like to think of it as forward = go faster and backwards =go slower... The DLC matches the logic of the flight stick pitch axis (aft for lift - spoilers down and forward for sink - spoilers up).
  14. I had a very hard landing on the carrier and my HUD ladder was skewed 45 degrees to the right, no amount of repairing fixed it so I guess there is some damage modelling in there...
  15. Yep was the switch position for me, I had it set to just fuselage. Two clicks and she fills right up... Thanks
  16. Thanks I’ll give that a try. Just tried my Nevada basic refuel mission and all is well, even if I manually sweep as soon as I hit auto they go to auto. The mission where that doesn’t work in from a carrier. Both missions are parking hot.
  17. I’ll habe to try out the switch positions as I can only ever get to 12,200 lbs by moving the refuelling probe switch down one position, even with 2x tanks. I hoped that I just had the fuel quantity display in the wrong position (if there is one like the A10)
  18. I have a similar issue in that I manually upsweep them to take off from the carrier but then auto doesn’t actually work. Maybe I’ve done something wrong, I do have buttons mapped for auto and bombing but the auto setting never moves the wing angle, just the suggested value so I have to manually move them to match. Edit: the indicator shows auto but doesn’t move the wings at all
  19. I had this thought when I first went VR in the Hornet, it reminded my of sitting in a glider. Luckily someone told me about the Force IPD option which actually just scales the world around you. I can’t advise on a correct number but have a play with it until you get that “this feels right” moment.
  20. Hi, yes I did engage all three SAS channels first. Perhaps I’ve just missed something in my eagerness to get flying as I generated a mission where I takeoff from parking hot. Edit: ok I’ll try that thanks. What about attitude hold? Surely it should just hold the current attitude (up to vertical 20 degrees and 60 longitudinal)?
  21. Hi, Great looking cockpit in VR by the way, frame rate takes a little bit but I have a question about the autopilot... How do you engage it? I’ve tried selecting attitude hold on the left console and then engaging autopilot via the engage button but it doesn’t hold? What am I missing? Thanks
  22. Rather than try and explain it myself here is a link with a simple explanation: https://www.boldmethod.com/blog/lists/2019/11/the-four-types-of-airspeed-and-how-each-works/
  23. Mover provided a link earlier in the thread where he wrote his thoughts a couple of years ago as well as some other very interesting reads. Thanks for the link Mover, some great articles there! Cheers
  24. Thank you, didn’t think to look at KB
  25. Great mission set, only tried a couple so far.. Just a question on day 2 I think where you refuel and then engage the two F5s, After hit passed WP 2 I think where you are then told to find the tanker on 26Y, I found him and flew towards him but I wasn’t sure how to contact for fuel? I just tried all the frequencies until I got a reply, is that right or did I miss something? At the merge with the F5s how do we employ the TST ordinance? Is it a laser shot or something? Anyway, every time I hit the trigger DCS crashes, I believe there is a fix for a similar bug where changing from CAP to TST would crash DCS. Anyway great work, Cheers
