  1. Pull up the checklist page on a ddi and throw the dump switch to get rid of fuel til your under the 33k max trap weight. One of the legacy hornet's biggest weakness is it's limited take home weight of ordinance. Therefore if youre trying to keep things realistic in terms of trapping back on the boat with whatever you didn't expend in a mission you'll have to sacrifice some of the fuel. What you've described in terms of your on speed flying definitely sounds like you're jet is heavy and requiring more thrust to keep lift
  2. Excellent point. We currently have organized training/mission nights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2000 EST.
  3. Would be a lot cooler if you did...
  4. Virtual Carrier Strike Group 3 has begun stand-up of its squadrons under Joint Task Force 46.5. With this expansion, vCSG-3 hopes to embrace the complexity and flexibility of operating in an environment with a multitude of platforms to include the AV-8B Harrier, A-10C Warthog and UH-1H Huey. We are currently seeking experienced virtual aviators to fill these new slots as we ease into the activation of these units. https://vcsg3.com/news/csg-3-activates-jtf-465
  5. So just to confirm, are you keeping all settings to 50%? The engine rumble seems to drown everything else out
  6. Hi everyone, Just received my Jet Seat, thanks Andre! Anyone care to share a screenshot of their SSA settings for jets. Primarily for the F18. Thanks!
  7. Defense in depth
  8. For those in the US who have Andres jetseat, how long do you normally expect the package to be in transit? Mine was released to US Customs on June 3rd and made no progress since.
  9. Fencing in is at the discretion of the flight lead. It signifies the transition of the flight from administrative environment into a tactical environment. If you're leading the flight then you're best time to fence in is once the flight is rejoined and well before you expect any hostile contact so that you're flight is prepared if bad guys show up earlier than expected.
  10. Bump. Now recruiting motivated Tomcat and Bug aviators!
  11. Since the intro of the new dedicated server client, how is everyone now running multiple instances of same install? Previously I ran two shortcuts of the /bin/dcs.exe and added --server --norender --w Server1 and Server 2 to each shortcut. Now when I try the same shortcuts after upgrading to the actual dedicated client, if I launch to dcs.exe I'm asked for a Normandy key and the program goes unresponsive. If I change the shortcut to point to updater_dcs.exe I get "unrecognized command server or no render or server1 and server2" Also also as of 2.5.5 update if anyone having issues getting web gui to load their server?

  13. Recently purchased a DOF Reality motion platform. With that I’ll need a way to mount my keyboard and mouse somewhere. Anyone have a solution for their motion platform rig? I’ve heard clamping iPad mounts work well for keyboards. Any other recommendation or specific mounts that people use? Thanks guys.
  14. Any reason why -w command comes up unrecognized when I try to change saved games folder in shortcut?
  15. Very strange. Are you launching from the dcs_updater.exe which is the initial shortcut that the install makes and adding there or redirecting to another exe? When I add -w Server1 to the end of my target line I get a unknown command.
  16. That’s with this? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/server_beta/
  17. Morning everyone, With the release of the new dedicated server it appears that the -w servername parameter no longer works when trying to run multiple instances off the same install. Could someone from the dev team let us know if separate installs are now required? Thank you!
  18. @Delta followed a previous users recommended steps of deleting all traces of TM firmware from pc, reinstalling, resetting windows calib, running your calib tool and all is perfect. Thank you very much!

  22. Virtual Carrier Strike Group 3 is currently seeking to expand its ranks. vCSG 3 is a group of like-minded enthusiasts with decades of combined flight experience in various flight sims ranging from DCS all the way back to Janes Combat Simulations. Our group draws from all walks of life to include commercial and private pilots and military vets. Through our experience, we strive to create a culture which isn't overly serious but enjoys the challenge and camaraderie formed through games such as DCS. New pilots can expect a structured training program which is broken down into three distinct phases: --- Initial Qualification Training is designed to teach new pilots the basics of flight including basic administrative formation flight. --- Mission Capable Qualification builds upon the skills learned in IQT and focuses on non-combat related flight skills such as in-flight refueling and TACFORM. --- Combat Mission Qualification is designed to take a pilot and transition them into a lethal aviator as they learn the fundamentals of air-to-air and air-to-surface combat. This ranges from Beyond Visual Range tactics to precise route timing combined with st In addition to our training program, vCSG-3 also strives to maintain a predictable schedule which begins with Work-ups in the Nevada desert and the San Diego coast. Following work-ups, the strike group moves on to deploy signified by a fly-on to the boat. Deployment allows us to put our combat edge to the test. At the conclusion of deployment, the air wing conducts a fly-off signifying the end of a successful cruise and returns to the Nevada desert after a short period of downtime. Currently our organized training/mission nights are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays at 2000 EST. Member perks and benefits include: --- Adult environment focusing on camaraderie and team building --- Initiative based training program --- VPS dedicated server (Funded through member donations) --- Professional forum and webpage (Funded through member donations) --- Predictable training/deployment schedule --- Segmented and manageable training program Please stop by our page and don't hesitate to ask any questions on our discord. http://www.vcsg3.com Discord: https://discord.gg/A5vm4CM
