  1. This And this It’s supposed to remain on lo throughout the takeoff roll per the Natops manual
  2. Mmmm, let me think. You should probably check your info before you decide to be snarky.
  3. What are you saying isn't implemented? The carrier lights? or the carrier lights in VR? When I contact the carrier and report inbound they turn on the runway lights including the centerline.
  4. I don't have VR so I can't check but you are contacting ATC to have them turn on the lights, correct?
  5. I'd say slow around the boat is more dangerous. You're closer to stalling and with a higher angle of attack you have a greater chance of catching a wire in air before your mains touch down. Being shallow and fast has a greater chance of a bolter and go around which I would take over catching a wire and slamming down on the deck.
  6. The colors are different is all.
  7. Yes. On land you press the t/o trim button and confirm you have 12 NU. Done. On the boat you hold t/o trim until you get the advisory and then add extra trim depending on weight.
  8. Think you're only supposed to be using 12° NU trim on land. The plane probably thinks you're on the catapult and is doing it's thing for the end of the cat stroke.
  9. Just gotta make the trip to the far carrier. Occasionally there’s an idiot out there but for the most part it’s pretty chill
  10. Going that far downind is going to screw you up on final especially if you descend through the turn. You’re going to be way low and have to fly straight and level until you intercept the glidseslope. You can break later but I would extend an extra .5-.75 miles after you are abeam max. It gives you a little more time and doesn’t throw off the numbers too much. Aim for 400ft at 1 mile on final. 1% of 350 is 3.5g... and 1 g per knot is 350g. That’s not the issue. The issue is you have to relax on the pull or you end up too close to the boat and the way it’s explained doesn’t make it readily apparent to some that it’s not a continuous 3.5g pull until downwind.
  11. The last 90 degrees of the turn you should be stealing looks at the boat and adjusting your turn so you roll out properly lined up. That's all there is to it. Look at boat, back to instruments, rinse and repeat.
  12. I still need to know how to set them up properly
  13. Can someone share their settings? I'd like to know how to use them when they do get fixed. I'm doing something wrong because I never see any effect on the ground unless I drop them FF but then the canister never opens.
  14. Turn around and try again...
  15. I noticed this yesterday but not on Wednesday or Thursday. My issue may have been lag. I’ll do some testing today and see how she behaves.
  16. These are two references I use
  17. I'm just trying to help people so they don't need to use F2. Calm down
  18. You just need a good visual reference for how close your are to the cat. Use F2 to get close to the shuttle, get in the cockpit and look around for something. I use these two for Cats 1 & 2 edit - files are mislabeled but you get the idea
  19. Np. Enjoy
  20. It’s magnetic vs true north. The amount of deviation varies per map, iirc it’s 6 degrees in the Caucasus theater. You can change the setting in the airplane. HSI - DATA - A/C and I think the option says TRUE/MAG. It’s the middle right option in the A/C submenu. HUD symbology will change and you’ll see a T instead of the normal heading caret (^). Now your heading will match what’s on the F10 map.
  21. ICLS is not implemented yet in the Hornet. When it is I'm not sure it will be available at every airfield. If I'm not mistaken CF-18s are the only legacy Hornets that have the ability to use regular ILS.
  22. I've been getting this too. The last time I selected GUN and then I could select my A/G munitions like normal. Will try again to confirm.
  23. Wings folded?
  24. Yeah because it’s going to take longer than a week to iron out that stuff. C’mon, common sense people.
