  1. Why oh why would you have such a huge plane?
  2. Well to be honest i'd presume they're going to be releasing something to appeal to the customer base they already have - a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush right? They know that if it is even Falcon 4.5 it will sell very well. If it was Falcon 4.0 with modern graphics/3d world, wouldn't you pay £30 for it??? Honestly it wouldn't be worth it?? Not to mention if it does sell, they will have a fair bit of money to invest.. They made enough off AF to continue developing this.. Just think of the future when they cash in on the prifits from this release. And as dev's of Falcon for a long time themselves they must be experts on the DC, so you would expect after a fair few years they'll either have expanded in in terms of complexity - or given in :(. Ahhh speculation, speculation.. I can't wait for whatever comes..
  3. For me it's one of those great things that you can say Britain actually made. One of the last of the many :(
  4. This is only my opinion, it's not supposed to be aimed at anyone and I certainly don't expect a reply or for it to be a common opinion (i'm not trying to represent anyone apart from myself here.. is what I mean ;)) Good work on the issues fixed, most of them weren't personally issues for me though. I was hoping that this patch was the AI/ME breakthrough that would turn DCS into a battlefield sim - that's what I thought the extra time taken to release was about. Not a problem though - I've got my money's worth already and i'm happy to chill playing some of the new games/mods that are out atm, until DCS:A-10 is released. Then i'll check the forums and see if the 'breakthrough' has been made. :)
  5. Harrier Gr.9 That way I could fly from wherever it's based via low level flight to my house in the Lake District [National Park], piss around a bit looking at the scenery and flying down the valleys, then land on a suitably prefabricated harrier-pad (I feel it would be rude to melt the tarmac of the local swimming pool). The obvious flaw in this is that the Harrier is not fitted with a Thatcham approved alarm/immobiliser. Insuring it with fully-comp would be a nightmare. (But these sacrifices have to be made, I feel).
  6. Found on a forum post written by an apparently very well qualified person in this matter: http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=6123 [TJ's post, halfway down] I've actually read the guy's book (many years ago).
  7. Thanks for shedding light on that, good reading.
  8. Good stuff! Lmao
  9. hehehehe such a pointless thing to make
  10. I just came across this phoenomenon and i'm still laughing. Anyone got any more 'material'? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJtLbAjRzmQ SOISOISOISOISOISOISOISOI OMG pwn4ge, lolzerz Some technoroflcopter A bland mix of different roflcopters. No action. Stick roflcopter action (wait for it.. it will come..)
  11. If I was a member of one of the peoples families I would have that video removed. Appropriate as a memorial perhaps at a private event, but most people watching will see it as little more than a 5 minute 'drama' that excites their emotions, only to forget about when the next video is clicked on. I'm sorry, but that's the YouTube 'culture' and I feel this video (when posted online), is actually de-sensetising, and will contribute to the 'war porn' culture. A bit like how I don't feel [extreme] strong emotions when starving African children are on the news - Having grown up with it unfortunatley it doesn't affect me as strongly as it should do (and I acknowledge that and it sickens me).
  12. Thanks for posting, good pics. Loud aren't they? lol
  13. Not meaning to hijack the thread any further, but in one of the images found in the reference link the prop is feathered?
  14. I've just got back, i'm gonna post my pics on here in case anyone's interested. Was a good weekend, weather could've been better though! We niftily jumped the queue on the first day (Sat) by making an illegal U-turn on a double carriageway and joining a shorter route in (Blue alternate). It still took us 1hr 30mins to get in though - we arrived just in time to miss the MiG 29 display and the Apache/Lynx display. Weather was ok, quite a cloudy day though but the acrobatics went ahead. Got sunburnt :( On the second day we also managed to beat the queues and made it in in 30mins (from start to end of joining the traffic). The weather was temperamental to say the least, but at least we'd came prepared, and when it rained we were nicely wrapped up. All of the aerobatics teams managed to display still, happy with that! (Plus we were in the tiered seating area, near the top. Nicer view than on Saturday!) When we got ready to leave though it absolutely p*ssed it down - You might notice if I post any of the pictures! These were all on a compact digital camera, I also bought a film SLR just before we set off down and if the photos from that are good I might upload them too. More tomorrow, here's the sort of thing I got. No air displays really because of lack of a zoom lens, but I got some [fairly] arty ones of the static displays. Excuse the rain! Oh yeah, I forgot to say, the hotel we stayed in was mainly occupied by the aircrew! They kept us up on Saturday night after they left the bar in the a.m, suppose we'll forgive them eh?
  15. Well you could've at least given a cryptic answer lol ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Edit: Anyway Wanderer you're wrong, I think you'll find that is a Fairey Swordfish However this is actually the ORIGINAL picture (like a peice of classic art, I re-used the canvas.) so I suppose it's your turn ;) Oh no, it's Topol's :0
  16. I'm really sorry folks, I was away for the weekend and hadn't anticipated this - I thought the game had moved on. Anyhow following the *bizzarre* photos in my absence (and before - no names) here's one that's not too hard (so we can all feel good about ourselves again if we get it ;))
  17. Paveway gps experimental guidance [Topol]? Edit: I'm not familiar with the colour coding used, but it's obvious this is an inert and probably experimental weapon.
  18. Oh ok Topol well i'm glad that at least one of us knows for sure absolutely certain 100% what this is ... ;)
  19. Haha yeah you can go and photo departures/arrivals, I was thinking for HER to do though lol. It's ok, i've booked a 4* hotel on the Sunday and i'm gonna surprise her by taking her to an otter sanctuary ;) You can't buy style like that. Thankyou, thankyou very much. I've just bought a film SLR camera from eBay, hoping to get a few snaps with that as well as with the two digital cameras we're taking. Otters included - I will post them here as well if anyone requests it.
  20. Well i presume it's a practise bomb, hence the blue. As for the red/yellow colours, what do they mean? The tail looks as if it wasn't made for dropping/free flight (a hunch), and there is a wire coming from the front [sensor] bit. Also you have blurred out the cradle it's resting on... Bit odd ;) is this a 'crash test dummy' bomb? If it is, erm... Mk-20? It's got to be a sensor package either way. Possibly for testing guidance control surfaces?
  21. UG Ugg Ugg lmao, +1
  22. www.f-16.net Care to enlighten us as to why? Take a little, give a little lol
