So I downloaded the helmet template, is there any way to test it in game?

I don't think the TPOD reads, you will have to use the Laser spot tracker, and then mark that spot and try to slew the TPOD to it. Or you can try to see if you can use NVG's to visually find the laser and slew to it. However I am no expert.

Cockpits (General Question)
Mesha44 replied to jsr9597's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
You can, but you also have to swap the exterior model as well. -
Yep, I just bound both of them to buttons and solved the issue of mis-clicking the cutoff when I wanted to release the brake.

Check the user download section of the site https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ for checklists of whatever aircraft you are flying. Youtube has a ton of tutorials as well, just search for the aircraft of your choice and the thing you want to learn, like DCS Viggen Radar and you will come up with a lot.

One more thing about landing, hold your nose wheel off the ground as long as possible and stay off the brakes. Once the nose wheel comes down brake hard. -

Just to the left of the throttle you will see a switch for the spoilers. Make sure they are on before you start your landing approach. They should deploy once you have weight on the wheels. Also, I find that 120 mph is a better landing speed. -

Make sure you have the weapon function selector switch turned to the left for Rockets. If you have it at the right, Bombs and GM arm, you going to just drop them. -

Great Job guys, a great little aircraft. My father flew them and I am thrilled to have it. -
I have had issues before with the laser not working. I was buddy lasing for a group of 3 other harriers doing runs for practice dropping LGB. About 30-40 minutes into the mission no one could pick up my laser any more. Not sure if it was an error on my part or overheating. I got no indication of an error.

Yes, tell your commander you fired at him and saw an explosion, then aircraft parts falling to the ground. He doesn't need to know the rest.

Welcome Decoy, and may I say, such a great name for a PR guy.

I think you are reading into things, by your argument it seems that because they didn't tell you no, you think it's going to be included. You need to read the page for the module when you buy it. The F-14 is clearly being sold as two versions of the aircraft. There is nothing on the AV-8 module page that would lead you to believe it's anything other than the NA version.

Thanks, I don't have the Viggen yet but I am sure I will need this someday.

How about Razbam makes a "building" that is nothing more that a grass cover that hides the airfield.

Off the top of my head the Mk 77 firebomb is the only one that I think is missing. Also we don't have a Mk 81 option, which is a 250 lbs bomb.

They tested this last weekend with the Su-33, like other steam free to play weekends it's gone from your library at the end of the free trial.

I recently went through the same decision process and ended up getting the AV-8b. Not so fast but the trade off was it has two multi function displays, which I find just great for nicely handling all the information that comes at you. The Viggen was the other contender, and it lost out in the end due to non english cockpit and no multi function displays. What it does have is speed. I am sure I will get it at some point. I don't regret getting the Harrier, I still can't land it on the Tarawa but I know that will just be a matter of practice. In the mean time it will do conventional takeoff and landing just fine. It's weak points or lack of range and lower speed, and she can be tricky at times to fly. It's strong points are good general ground attack, good selection of rockets, laser guided bombs and two types of maverick missile. If you are having trouble deciding make a chart, put the characteristics you want down the side, put the aircraft across the top and then rate them, add up all the numbers and then just pick the one that feels right based on the scores and your impression. Of the Viggen, Harrier and Hornet, you can't really go wrong.

The news for today posted here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3625468&postcount=159 I have looked through my mission folders and can't seem to find it. Am I just looking in the wrong place or is it not available yet?

I would say get a pair of cheap shoes or flip flops and screw them down to the foot rests on your existing rig.

I'm incapable of detecting and countermeasure incoming missiles
Mesha44 replied to kunterbunt's topic in DCS 2.9
My advise would be to build a mission with just a few enemy radar units on it, no launchers. Keep the widely dispersed so you know where they are. Practice flying towards them at normal altitude and see how your radar warning systems work. Now try sneaking up on them. Now add the launcher and see if you can evade the missile at long range. The SA-6 is a pretty good one to start on, it has a high minimum altitude, meaning it cannot launch on you below a certain altitude. It has a huge visible cloud when it launches that can be seen for miles. It is a good starter opponent. -
Well this fixed the issue for me, I am now hearing the warnings (still got shot down but an improvement).
-
Ok, but what range were you at when the missile hit the target?

Thanks Ironhand
