  1. I do want to keep this issue open, so it can be fixed by DCS. (I.e., update the DCS documentation for how to access screenshots taken in DCS, (which is an important skill to communicate bugs to DCS).
  2. Thanks Tholozur, Bunny Clark, AUS-Heracles and Ahmed for your insights. I do want to keep this open so DCS can eventually fix the issue.
  3. Yes, voiceattack is the way to go. Voiceattack is a bargain at $10, free trial period, and is easy to program.
  4. I need to set the barometric pressure to 27.69, but the DCS cockpit instrument only lets me go to 28.10 and no lower. I have this problem when I fly the DCS Mission in Nevada (guns and missiles against 3 Sukoi 25s). I fly to McCarran to land and get the tower's instruction to set QFE to 27.69.
  5. Thanks Pocket Kings, that did flush out some old screenshots I did not realize I had. I just discovered that my recent screenshots are shown on the Steam page, to the right of the "PLAY" button for DCS World.
  6. Per DCS, for finding screenshots go to: "C:/users/your username/ saved games folder for the appropriate DCS installation. You will find the screenshots folder in there." I go there and see screenshots I took prior to DCS OB 2.7, but none of the screenshots taken after installing DCS OB 2.7 are showing up there. (NOTE: The track files are still being populated after upgrading to DCS OB 2.7, just not the screenshots)
  7. Thanks RogueSqdn, I appreciate your excellent answer.
  8. I would like to use my existing keyboard and mouse, along with PointCTRL when flying the DCS F/A 18, is that possible? Thanks! In the unlikely event I can't get PointCTRL to work, is there a return policy? Thanks!
  9. MarkTurner - I contacted ED, they said minimize the Steam window (after hitting "Play" and DCS World starts booting), and then minimize the headset window as well. That really helped reduce my "windows out of focus" error messages. I noticed in your picture there is a black "Now Playing" window. That has caused me the "window out of focus" error...I would recommend minimizing that window. (And peeking at your monitor in flight to see if that is what is causing your "window out of focus" error. I also go full screen if I get a random "window is out of focus" error while flying a mission. Edited Tuesday at 05:27 PM by WS clarity
  10. I have been experimenting and have solved the issue for myself (I've got an original Samsung Odyssey WMR headset)... Before running DCS I always re-calibrate for a seated position. I keep the headset at my sternum pointed toward the flight sim monitor, and move as far away from the monitor as possible before clicking "center". I think it helps the cameras inside the headset to capture a bigger image, so it has more objects to reference, to help maintain proper calibration. My desk light is super bright and aim-able and about 4 feet from my flight sim monitor. I aim my desk light toward the flight sim monitor, to create more contrast, which I believe helps the headset cameras provide proper alignment. Looking toward the ceiling briefly, or pushing the "VR center" button sometimes works to restore proper headset calibration while flying a mission. What really seems to help is briefly looking directly at my bright desk light and then back toward my flight sim computer.
  11. Thanks Jason Peters, love it! I had a little bit of a struggle opening the DCS lua file, until I downloaded and used NotePad++ to open it. Just thought I would share that tip with others that may be having trouble opening the file. Will, Rancho Mirage, California

  14. Having the same problem, thanks FFJim1280 & Chappy197606. For what it is worth, the NVG toggle still works in the DCS World stable version.
  15. Please correct the Aerodrome data for all the DCS Nevada airports. For example McCarran Airport's runway is shown as 10,377m, but it is actually 14,505 feet. Similarly, McCarran's elevation is shown as 2,169m, but it actually 2,181 feet. Real F/A 18 pilots avoid runways less than 8,000 feet, having the correct aerodrome data in DCS World would really help figuring out where DCS users can land F/A 18s. I am a big fan of DCS! Thanks for all you do....Will
  16. This works to fix the "Window out of focus!" issue - Open STEAM, bring up DCS World, have Steam ready to hit the “PLAY” button. Activate the VR headset. If the VR Window opens on top of the Steam Window, move the VR window away from the Steam Window. Minimize the VR Window. Hit the “PLAY” button in the Steam Window. After DCS World starts, minimize the Steam window. AT DCS World Main Screen, close the “cross eye alert” window. Ensure the Options-VR Tab’s “cursor confined to game window” box is checked Press ALT + Enter to go full screen on the DCS Window (thereby confining the mouse cursor). (Take a peek out of the VR Headset to ensure the DCS Window is full screen on your monitor) Samsung Odyssey, i7 7820x, GTX 1080ti, 32GB ram, 512GB SSD, 2TB HD Storage

  18. I have a Samsung Odyssey headset as well, when that happens to me I usually move quickly left and right and stick my head through the virtual canopy and that does the trick to break the cockpit from moving away from my head movements. I think good room lighting helps to maintain proper headset calibration.
  19. I really love my XK-24. I could easily program all the keystroke combinations and they all worked in the DCS F/A 18 flight simulator. I use the XK-24 in conjunction with my Dell Alienware AW768 keyboard. I was very disappointed with the Dell Alienware AW768 keyboard, where Dell advertises 15 programmable macros. I could program a only a few macros which worked in the simulator (like gear up/down, flaps full down, flaps 1/2 way, flaps auto, but the majority I programmed did not work in the simulator - for example aircraft start up, aircraft shut down, pilot show/hide, master caution off, etc. I spent hours and hours with the Dell tech reps in multiple sessions and they could not fix the problem. They even sent a replacement keyboard, it exhibited the same poor behavior. The XK-24 solved my problem of the poor Dell AW768 macro capability. I am a big fan of the XK-24!
  20. The flashlight does work with my F/A 18 simulator and the Samsung Odyssey Windows Mixed Reality headset, really cool feature. You have to install the latest Windows 10 upgrade (1809) to get the functionality. I just say "flashlight on" to be able to look around to see the room (without taking the headset off). You can also see the keyboard keys in the "flashlight on" mode without taking your headset off. To turn the flashlight off, just say "flashlight off" and it goes off. I also have the COCKPIT FLASHLIGHT coded in a keyboard macro (L ALT+ L). I am using the XK-24 programmable keyboard for that macro, love the XK-24 by Xkeys.
