I just received the x65 today and it seems pretty dang good for a force sensing stick. It compares equally with the cougar fssb, but I say the x65 is probably better due to the force selections (which I really like), and you can screw the stick down. The cougar does not have screw holes and has to be zip-tied down. The quality seems good, but not as heavy as the cougar(could be a good thing). The only thing that is lacking in quality are the buttons, really easy to push and move. It is something I can get use to and is not a deal breaker. I have used basically every Joystick ranging from the cougar, TM Warthog BETA,Cougar FSSB, FCC etc.. The warthog is a quality stick for sure, but in arena of force sensing , the X65 is a good stick.

have any of you used both the 65f and a modded cougar fssb? I wonder what the difference is in quality?
-
I ordered the x-65 for testing and to see how it would do in a cockpit environment. I have a cougar Fssb to compare and will give the 65f a good test. Also I have some time with the TM Warthog and really like the stick, but I also like force sticks as well. While using my fssb in Blackshark , I had no issues and could fly the helicopter perfect, so I guess it is what you get use too! I'll will report back after the 65f is compared to the Cougar Fssb.

We are trying to get to that point! We are a small group of guys that do this stuff on the side , but we have made some great progress. Currently working on the side consoles and center instrument panel for the f16. The front console will be based on a 23 inch touchscreen for cost, but the side consoles will have panels , switches, and electronics to run the switches.
-
8 inch lcd's work perfect for the TM mfd's, or you can buy a touch screen and use our virtual MFD's which are designed just like the real A-10c. ( coming soon)
-
It will be a stand-alone center console and instrument panel. We will be doing a Modular Cockpit which consist of the Seat, seat mount, Rudder Floor, Center Instrument Console, and lastly Side consoles. Each section can be bought separately over time. We are trying our best to make this affordable and is why we are building parts in a Modular concept. This hobby is comparable to Rc airplanes ( cost) , any full cockpit that works will have a few thousand invested plus electronics. Later addons will be Laser Panels and switches for the side consoles, or the option to add touchscreen panels. We will sale the thrustmaster products on our site here shortly, such as the mfd's and Warthog Hotas So, for the front A-10 console you will need a 23 inch Acer touch screen( $300 est), mfd's( $50), and then of course the structure. The structure will come kit or built/painted. The kit form will be the less expensive option and will be around $400. The software will be sold separately when it is finished. Currently I'm finishing the F-16 atm and will give you all a good idea on what we can do!

BTW guys, Gadroc has done an amazing Job with the software and we will be releasing a front console for the a-10 very soon. It will be cnc'd in a kit form with an option of being built and painted. IT will be a mixture of birch and aluminum. It will be designed based off the Acer 23 touch screen lcd (the software will work based on touch as well).

I'm currently working on a stand alone Aces II seat with stick mounts. This will be our entry level product that you can set in front of a desk, monitor, Large LCD, or projector. IT will be similar to the ACES at E3, except will be mostly aluminum held together with flush and round head rivets. All seats will be pre-built and painted gray. I should have the newer version in a couple of weeks. Lastly, we will hopefully have a pre-order for the TM Warthog and ACES TM stick combo's.

I had a chance to fly DCS for a second and all I can say is it is very realistic!!! Since DCS is so much better then anything out there, it makes it hard to compare it to anything. DCS combined with the TM Warthog, you have a perfect mate!

New info on DCS A-10C and on thrustmaster HOTAS!!
Flim replied to kingneptune117's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
No, but no need too! The stick and throttle are very smooth and the tension is perfect IMHO . Yes, I have been testing the sticks for a while, so if you all have any questions then ask away. -

Flim replied to kingneptune117's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
No, twist rudder does not exsist. The tm warthog is the best stick that has ever been built for pc gamers. I have been using the stick for a little while now. -
Hey man, good job! I have a laser myself and IMHO contrast is more important then backlighting. I see that you tested the white acrylic, looks great while backlit, but does not have good contrast. If you want to make it easy, use .030 Or .062 engravable plastic along with a .25 clear acrylic layer underneath. Then glue together , paint flat black , and lastly laser engrave. This is the easiest and best method I have found. Btw, the panels are still backlitable.

Hey , sorry So, about that bent lever in the A-10!! Seriously, I would Like to make one , but would be a project for the metal shop. Any up close pics of the gear box?

Um, I'm sorry you feel that way- I'm really not sure how I mislead anyone, but I have been working lately on the A-10 trying to get it right. The seat was never official here on the site, just random drawings to gain interest and insight. \ If someone buys a part/seat/etc and is not happy- ( I will do what I can in my power to make it right)- that is what separates us from others. BTW, you are first complaint about the seat- there are many folks that have the f-16 version including a real f16 driver. I'm not sure what your issue is since you do not have any of my products nor have even contacted me about your concerns. A little unfair based on circumstances, but everyone has there opinion right or wrong. On the other hand, you can give me a call anytime and talk about your issues. Sorry Swine for Hijacking your thread! Last post about this

Well, I have spent many hours in cad and testing the seat personally before anyone else has touched one. I can assure our seats are very close to the real thing. Second, it takes a 30,000 dollar machine to make the seat which is impossible by hand to the accuracy required. So, the time saved in the pit building process is big. The A-10 aces is different from the F-16 Aces, but no one here has seen my version of the a-10 aces II , it has not officially been released. The A-10 seat angle is correct--- It will feel and function like the real seat. So, I think there is a little rush to judgment! I do my best to replicate a metal seat from wood, but it is impossible to get the wood version 100 % accurate. There are a few folks who can really net pick products, but those folks can never be satisfied unless they are sitting in the real cockpit. IF there has to be 100 % accurate attitude , then why would anyone bother pit building? ( IT is impossible) My goal for the products is to get very close , but make it functional. Many people that buy our products just do not have time to build one from scratch. There is a real fine balance in accuracy compared to functionality/time/price, and sometimes I have to change parts for manufacture reasons. IF I was only building one part then I could make it accurate , but I make a lot of parts and time becomes a big factor. SCS is here to help make pit building easier for people who do not have time or the resources. I have received many positive emails from customers that have built our products, and if there is something wrong or inaccurate, we do our very best to fix it. I'm always up for suggestions! FLIM SCSIMULATIONS

Ok, got it fixed! I installed windows 7 Home 64 student version- I installed a driver off nvidia that came up automatically when I logged into driver downloads. It seems that the whole driver did not install, but not for sure. I re-downloaded the Nvidia driver manually amd it fixed the blackShark white UI Screen. So, hope this helps others!
-
Hey guys, just installed windows 7 home pre and the main screen is white. The Multi-player is fine. I'm using the lastest Nvidia Drivers on my 9800gtx. ANy word on this?

Like What? LOL

I would not trade my FSSB in for one of those vibrator sticks. Why does a stick need to move to feel realistic? Force sensor stick is by far the best way to go in every way! I'm glad someone finally figured that out.

Thanks!
