I agree with RCj as well, the res is usable now. Is it perfect, no... but 2 1080 screens compared to one split (DK2), that will be mucho better. I can't wait...

I can't use a 2d monitor anymore... when I do it seems so lame trying to twist my neck around with track IR. I had and built full pits as well and VR really opens up a new way of simming and training. I use my DK2 to practice emer procedures for the b206, works awesome. Even the military training devices kind of suck ( unless you're in the real aircraft), so I use my own and it puts me way ahead of my peers. Vr is good and will only get better/more accepted down the road.

So what's the word on dk2 paired up with Dcs 2.0...? Hoping they have it working smoother! I really don't like flying without my rift...

Hey guys, I'll offer the files to print your own warthog extension parts for $19 dollars... you will get 4 part files plus a BOM on what you need to build. This is the best stick mod out there for the Warthog in my opinion. Also, for the folks that have the mod already, let me know if you need the files to reprint parts.

Using Stereo for monitor config?

What sims did you fly? Just curious... Both options will have there places in the sim world... I guess it all depends on space and money at the end. I would like to build a dome, like flyaces.

Here is one I took before I added the 5th ( back View Projector )... Honestly I didn't take a lot of pics because I was busy trying to make it all work. I can tell you there is a lot to making this work correctly... type of projectors, distance from wall, mounting, aligning, etc... the list goes on. Also, it takes a lot of tweaking on the PC as well- View ports, performance, video cards. The last setup I built before I moved was 5 projectors, 360-180 Vertical with one touch screen using Helios. I had it working nicely with around 40 fps on a single video card. I never took a video of the last setup, but there are a few links to earlier testing. Now, the view point will not look right in the videos because the eye position needs to be in the center of the Cube to look correct. A lot of the tech info is in the thread. PIC of the CUBE A-10 PIT---- this pit was specifically built for the Cube... Seat height, etc... VID LINK Now, if you can figure out a professional projector setup with the top view, then I would be in. In the future anyway, need a house first. ---- Btw, Sorry about getting a little heated in the Topic, we all should be working together to make simming better!

To each his own... you go look at the Cube thread and check out what I worked on last year. I can say that there are plenty of issues with projection and HMD setups, we'll see which way it goes in the future. Would like to see a video of the first post pic...

First off, I never used track Ir with the Cube... that was the point of having a 360 projection setup. Also, I had the cube working great; aligned, centered, and sighted for head position. If I had the space ,that is what I will build again. Since you are a visual engineer and so- called expert on this forum, I'll let you keep trying to show others how smart you are. I can't believe I'm wasting time with this crap, need to get back studying the 737... later.

Well, the pic above looks worse than Dk1... Yes, I have flown missions in Dk1 with no issue. Now, I'm using the razer hydra for 6dot, which make it easier to lean and see instruments. The sense of immersion compared to any projector setup (excluding full dome) is not comparable in my opinion. I will gladly take less res for more immersion! The best projector option is the Cube if you want a real pit... about $3500 in cost to build. In time, once the CV1 is out... I think you will have a very difficult time with your argument. btw, track ir and a large projection screen... that will make you sick!
