BS1 Key Mappings and Campaign Progress to BS2?
C6_Hellfrog replied to normntaz's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
the default file for joystick profile is absolutely the same , with only 5 diferences : in BS2 we have 5 new comands : that's all. so with a manual edition of your ancient profiles, plus add theses lines at the right place (see the default file in config/input/aircrafts/ka-50/joystick) and save it in this directory, then load it in BS2, it should work ... -
a very good suggestion... which will be ignored probably... even if I hope no.

Can't seem to export ABRIS and Shkval in BS2
C6_Hellfrog replied to Froglips's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
in the install files of the complete bs version (not the patch) there is no more shkval and abris lines but LEFT_MFCD = and RIGHT_MFCD = lines... didn't tested it personnaly as I still haven't activated neither bought. -
Arality and empeck are very well resuming the customer attitude of at least half of french forums users if not the majority.

solution is in developers hands : just listen to user's community attempts, bugs feedback and so on... since 2008-2009 many people are still waiting about ED for BS... if developpers don't bring to users what they are asking for, don't be surprised or disapointed to see them "rude"... it is the client / market law... I think many frustrations are just expressed now, with this new patch, but are the sum of two years of developments and communications 'bugs'... perhaps two many time between beta release and final releases... perhaps too many bugs not enough quickly corrected, perhaps too many promisses not totally respected...

to pay is not the problem. the problem is to pay for what ? something new ? something inovative ? in the DCS series : BS2 is not new... it is a patch, an inclusion of bs ka50 (from BS1 = nothing new) in A10 (= nothing new) and a patch should not be payware... (donationware at the limit... to avoid to frustrate the aficionados...) :music_whistling: yes, there are somme adds, campaign, variable winds, and some details... but not worth the value to pay for it comparatively to the work achieved by some free modders... the other problem is : DCS series is not built as a modular project but rather as standalone different projects, and therefore there is the need of some work to regain compatibility by developers at each new release. BUT I don't think anyone will be motivated to pay for that because it is developers' policy consequences, game development architecture consequence, not market or users fault ! AND just remember : a start of DCS series, ED has communicated a lot about future projects vanting free warranted interoperability, and a modular development. Just have a look at directories and files in BS2 and you will just laugh... no, it is not the price the problem, it is the evolution of the serie the problem... many users are afraid for the future and therefore with no communication, with so many previous announcements not followed by products, the problem is the confidence between ED and users... my two cents

subject about accepting modified configurations on servers has been discussed here http://www.scsimulations.com/showthread.php?1255-DCS-BS-Hoster-configuration-to-accept-connexion-of-clients-with-modified-display EDIT : more testing concluded to server rejecting connection because of some mods inocmpatibility, mainly don't use gun pods mods on network, they edit some configuration files tested by all servers...

C6_Hellfrog replied to PeterP's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi, all ! bravo for the good explanation about softTH, it is a valuable initiative !! and interesting question and remarks here... about Helios therefore I asked for that question on Helios forum with link to here Gadroc (Helios developer) is a bit overbooked these times but he will certainly have a look later I think. -
HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
C6_Hellfrog replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
we had the same regional issue with helios development about xml parser... it seems to be a "classic one"... do you plan to develop DCS BS input/output and other software/games support or not / only A10 ? -

C6_Hellfrog replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
yes of course ! I don't dream of a mega organization stopped in efficiency because of its size and administrative stuffs... but it is not an oposition to team work. in a good team you need some competition to gain emulation and progress... and a team is (generally) more powerfull than some individuals... therefore don't make too quickly some politics shortcuts about what I said please... :smilewink: (moreover here is not the place for politics debates and forums spirit is about helping and exchanging) -

that is a great progress to functionnality and ergonomy (and still a lack in Helios) ! It was an advantage of touchbuddy extensions ! Great for mission briefs, maps, helps and charts !!! -
yes I didn't look on the others sub forums... many thanks for the links !

HawgTouch - Free Panels & Gauges for A-10C
C6_Hellfrog replied to ClearDark's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi all, I followed all touchscreen threads from touchbuddy beginnings... to Touchpal and then Helios, to finish with this last soft. I had no much free time last weeks to follow HawgTouch subject... and it is very recent indeed ! I just read the whole thread tonight... And after that, I had a dream... With Helios coming free and the brilliant talents of both Gadroc and ClearDark... I am wondering if we could, on middle to long term finish with one universal product... elaborated with all people contributing and interested in this subject... because on last considerations, there is not so much people contributing and competent with those sort of things... working alltogether is best than competing each one on his own... maybe could divide work load and accelerate developpement and various sims support... maybe some time is needed to achieve such goal yes the road is not well known, and collective work is not easy, yes many GNU projects have some difficulties to born and complete... but opportunity exists, it is up to people working on it to evaluate that, and to forum readers to manifest their support on such idea... it was my utopist contribution of the nigth...but Utopia has that interest : it is a potentiality that may become reality, it is up to anyone to push on that direction... -
I noticed nobody informed that Helios is becoming donation ware, and no more payware : see details here http://www.scsimulations.com/forums/showthread.php?1182-Helios-Licensing-Model-Change

hmmm ... Gadroc still remain extremly modest : I'am smiling when earing at him with "several" and "little"...

TouchPal - Touchscreen Cockpit
C6_Hellfrog replied to Gadroc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You can stay with your current options.lua, no need to go back to the original one. But if you have a multi screen, generally all people have reported the need to have it write protected. When the options.lua is write protected you have errors when attempting to edit any options in the BS game. therefore you have to edit properties of the options.lua to go back to no write protection before making changes in BS. after that go back editing properties and make again write protection. (about write protection of options.lua : This is particularly necessary if you go to screen options without wanting to edit it... the game will not list your personal multimonitor setups in the choices of screen configurations ; if you do that, you will have to go back to options.lua and edit it to reset to your multimonitor configuration.) -
TouchPal - Touchscreen Cockpit
C6_Hellfrog replied to Gadroc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think you had to write protect your options.lua to have it work... not overwriten by the game. (necessary for any multiscreenconfig) therefore you can't go to options menu without bug, because BS need to edit options.lua.... therefore soluce is : have a backup copy of your working options.lua somewhere un write protect options.lua, then launch BS, go to options menu and make the choices you have to then close BS then rebakckup your new options.lua (incremental, like that you can go back and up bteween different setups) then rewrite protect the options.lua to have game. these should clear your last errors. for the other errors, I don't know and don't have time enough... sorry. -

Thank you for the compliment Trigger, but I am neither the only contributor, nor the main boss, C6 is not "my" site. I am only a regular writer and member of the staff, many people work altogether to have this result. I will pass your rewards, they will be happy ! Many thanks from french simers community ! and have good holidays ! -

As trigger's thread is much read by many people, and he is always searching and thinking about "how to do better", I post a link to a french thread about collective DIY. a french mod about collective with "electrovannne" stopping (I don't know how to translate this particular technical term in english) seems to be a good idea see pics and quick tech ref here : http://www.checksix-forums.com/showpost.php?p=1107299&postcount=21 -
