    Stick shaking?

So I see the temp setting has Auto at the top and Man at the bottom, then numbers around. Do I need to set it to the bottom first to activate Man, or as soon as it's not in the middle at the top it's using the temperatures? I will also do more testing, because it seemed it was happening at <300 knots but not >300 knots.

    Stick shaking?

I... can't tell if you're joking or if this is a detail Deka actually implemented... It seems to be a slow speed thing but still doesn't look right.
  3. Just ran into the same issue. Zoomed out works fine, but zoomed in it usually doesn't slew at all, or slews very slowly in a random direction nothing to do with your control inputs (while also shaking/jumping). I am using the ministick on the Thrustmaster TWCS throttle. Anyone else experienced it? Any update if this is a known bug?
  4. I noticed while flying the JF-17 that the stick in the cockpit shakes rapidly even with very slight control input. I have checked the joystick movement in the controls/axis page, the input-output is smooth. The flying itself is smooth, just the stick model in the cockpit visually shakes. Any ideas what this might be?
  5. I thought the speed limit for jettison was lower, Mach 0.85, but not aware of bank limit. I've dropped them in quite steep climbs, I think in turns too.
  6. No worries QuiGon, I know you're generally quite knowledgeable but we all make mistakes, the other guy over-reacted a bit but as long as we're all learning it's cool. I had to edit my post as I initially claimed the F-14 doesn't have maneuver flaps lol :) eatthis lol, so have I, though usually when I forget the main flaps lever axis in a random position (since it's mapped for other functions in different planes). It's also more "fun" when they get damaged asymmetrically... By the way, feel free to test the damage speeds and report back!
  7. I'm just glad I read this thread, was flying the other evening and my canopy started going frosty white. Might have submitted a bug report if I didn't know about this little detail being implemented :D Very nice touch indeed.
  8. QuiGon, the maneuver flaps+slats use the same axis as DLC, but wihout pushing the button first. Axis is the other way around though, thumbwheel aft is deploy, forward is retract. This manually deploys the wing leading edge slats and maneuver flaps setting, exactly what the auto does at high AoA. Just to be absolutely clear in case it's a terminology misunderstanding, that's not the DLC. The DLC is manual control of the spoilers that come out on top of the wing. eatthis, unless the auto system is broken there is nothing to be gained from using them manually in combat. You can definitely break the flaps but I don't know their exact speed limit. They also prevent the wings from sweeping, so if you break them with wings out you're a bit stuffed. The slats can deploy with the wings swept, best let them do their own thing.
  9. They are automatic, based on AoA. The manual mode is mainly for land take-off (meant to use these not the full flaps), or as a backup in case auto fails.

    C-704/705?

Neat and would be cool for completeness, but I agree with AeriaGloria. In DCS terms, if you can't carry it on 2/6 you'd always just use the 802 instead. That CM400 though... mmmm :P
  11.:clap::clap: You guys are awesome, looking forward to seeing it live.
  12. As long as it respects laser codes and can be buddy lased I can live with no spinning.
  13. Ah yeah for the MiG-31s that makes sense, but I meant for the Su-35 gun going off.
  14. Still makes me question why they don't have (or weren't using) some kind of training/simulation mode of master arm.
  15. I put it on first trigger stage so I don't accidentally fire the gun while using it. It wouldn't surprise me if it was like the Viper, the JF--17 was designed with cockpit commonality in mind for easy pilot conversion. But I would also like a definite answer.
  16. It definitely worked when the JF-17 was released, I remember doing the instant action and nailing that transport from the other side of the mountains. I assume it broke as part of ED's rendering performance improvements, if they introduced render range limitation then to help with that. If it affects everything are ED aware?
  17. Another few things about BRMs, while we're here. The "IN RNG" is not required for launch, as long as you're pointing the right way. In fact, they can and will hit reliably even when launched from 7 or 8 miles out from a 15k feet launch, which is very impressive. Longer than that though and they seem to randomly lose track in flight, not sure if they have an internal battery life, or maybe cranking away from the target too far causes issues with tracking. The ability to fire BRMs in pairs is a liability, don't use it. It seems there's a very high likelyhood they'll hit each-other in mid air before reaching the target. Given how good their hit rate and destructive power is, there's basically no point doubling up anyway.
  18. I want to know the backstory to this now.
  19. Surprised nobody here has picked up on this already: http://alert5.com/2020/09/23/russian-su-30sm-crashes-said-to-have-been-shot-down-by-su-35-during-dogfight-training/ so... apparently Russian fighters sit around loaded with live ammo and they forget to remove it for trainings? And do these jets not have a "Master Arm - TRAINING" mode, that simulates the tracking symbology but inhibits actual firing?
  20. Chucks is out of date. MAN is default off. There's a new keybind, Alt + O, to then toggle laser on/off while in MAN. Can the last digit on a plane using LITENING (F-18, F-16, A-10) go lower, so those could buddy lase you on 1113?
  21. Yes, this is exactly what I found in my earlier testing as well. But I was just going off what paco said, if S-25L can be buddy lased on 1113, maybe just on that frequency the BRMs will accept it too.
  22. Thank you for the update uboats. Howcome the AGM-65E scheme can't be used? For the meantime, I will try to test if BRM-90 can be buddy lased on 1113 like paco says S-25L can be.
  23. You can just use the Kuznetsov. Take-offs should be way easier with the ramp anyway. Not sure if going up the ramp after landing would make it easier by enough to compensate for the whole ship being shorter. Would be fun to try anyway.
  24. Ah, thank you. Good to know that you are waiting to jump on that when it comes out.
  25. That's a very admirable realism goal. For me though, even in VR it's more about not being able to see/read what I would IRL. If the FoV is realistic but in the virtual world I can't see what I would in the real one due to resolution... that's actually not realistic. In the end still need compromise one way or the other.
