  1. What are the deliverables expected of the F16 Viper before the developers move back onto completing the Hornet?
  2. Can you say why the walleye is closer than TWS. I din’t Know understand why a niche MITL weapon of dubious usage (post jdam and jsow) is even been worked on instead of a highly useful capability for a2a? What is the logic behind that? Why after LTWS was put in was TWS not next on the list? Many things are ‘on the liat’ But there appears to be no disernable logic behind what happens when. I would highly advise Ed to our in place either (or both) an updated ‘flow” to show the order of system integration planned, and/or allow the (both single player and no) community to provide a priority list to help Ed keep their customer base updated and happy and rebuild bridges that are deteriorating.

  4. Ed, The hornet is currently sub par in multiplayer. The lack of TWS means an opposing pilot is always alerted prior to you being able to take a shot so removes one option. The incorrect flare count makes the hornet vulnerable in a multiplayer engagement. I do not understand why the walleye is more important than TwS from a priority perspective, and I am baffled why it has taken over a year and a half for tws to come out. Now you have taken part of the team off the hornet to get the viper ready, this has further delayed TWS. (I do not like what you are doing here for the record and given my experience with the hornet I will not be purchasing the viper till the hornet and the viper are completed). Please therefore with the resource you currently have, and furthermore when the hornet team is back to strength get TWS into the hornet and fix the flare count ASAP and more Importantly in future consider multiplayer more when prioritising aspects to work on.
  5. Hi, Not sure if a bug or not however if you are using JDAM and 'deselect' them on the stores page and 'reselect' them - the alignment process countdown clock will restart. If this process is similar to alignment of a Plane INS alignment - then I would not expect it to restart. Track file attached simply showing me taking off, selecting JDAM and toggling them on and off to show the countdown clock resetting. Arc jdam align restar when reselect.trk
  6. So - just did three sorties with my new Rift S on Blue Flag in a Hornet. Pro: Visual quality much improved with the higher resolution and move to RGB stripe. I can indeed 'read everything'. Spotting seems easier now as well. Cons: Audio. Just sucks. Plain crap. When I'm flying my Hornet I don't want to hear the fish tank in my room. Iplugged in some clip ons I had and it's now better, but now there is another thing to faff with and cables to tangle. The person who 'okayed' the audio on the Rift S made a colossal cock up, no other way of looking at it. I had a couple of individual frames of 'noise' like a colour tv snow - not a problem really if a bit jarring. Tracking however... I sit low on the floor in a home made simpit - Rift kept dropping me back down at inconvenient times... not good. On the whole I think I'll keep the upgrade in the expectation of improved software - simply because of the resolution upgrade.
  7. Any UK/EU people know anything about release this side of the pond?
  8. Right now angels are singing 'Hallelujah!' Great news Wags, just in time for the Index, the S and the Reverb, What a time to get to experience DCS in VR!
  9. You currently need the beta SSA I believe.... http://dsteam.azurewebsites.net/SSA/beta/publish.htm
  10. I thought Reverb minimum was 1080? I know that one of the reviewers was told a 1070 would be ‘ok’ but ‘ok’ and DCS doesn’t sound good...
  11. Resolution leaked... notes day. Take with pinch of caution.... DCS VR optimisation when?
  12. Water on high. Flying the PG I can't stand poor water quality in either a Huey or Hornet....
  13. 1440x1600 is the smallest of the resolutions made by the two companies linked in the leak. One option is a monster 2160x2400....
  14. PSA - If you get effects on your Forcefeel getting 'stuck' - make sure to try your Forecefeel on a PC Motherboard USB (preferrably USB2.0). I had mine mounted via a Powered USB hub (this one https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/computer-accessories/power-and-cables/external-usb-hubs/advent-hb312-7-port-usb-2-0-hub-13828377-pdt.html?store=2329&&istCompanyId=bec25c7e-cbcd-460d-81d5-a25372d2e3d7&istItemId=qqpallmt&istBid=t&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~1020%20(PLA)%20PC%20PERIPHERALS~1020%20(PLA)%20PC%20PERIPHERALS%20ad%20group~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&kwid=GOOGLE&device=c&ds_kids=92700038411102233&tgtid=1020%20(PLA)%20PC%20PERIPHERALS&&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhPfkBRD0ARIsAAcYycHaSJbL2p67WzACZcnAhJ3Try8JoJKOgeazcppDrVQilMduXypw9Y8aAi06EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) What we figured out was that for some reason the Forcefeel would 'disconnect' randomly (probably bandwidth based) and the driver wouldn't realise it. When it was plugged into the PC the disconnects stopped.
  15. We finally tracked down and resolved the issues I was seeing on my Forcefeel (Thanks f4l0!) Now using SSA my Forcefeel makes the planes come alive in a way I hadn't thought possible. What a great program! Thanks for all your work! :-D PSA - If you have a Forcefeel and are getting 'stuck' effects - ensure your Forcefeel is on your MotherBoard USB (2.0 preferrably) - it seems the Forcefeel doesn't play nicely with powered USB hubs!
  16. Haha! No wonder! I've got a link to a video where someone who has tried the Reverb has been told by HP that a 1070 or 1080 would drive it if you dropped the settings. ( - 9min 20) Going to hope that having a PD of 1 or less with settings lower would give a better pic than my CV1 with PD 1.5 and lots of quality.
  17. That doesn't seem right. You should have more than 45fps with that rig surely... 45fps = ASW kicking in. What happens if you force it to be off?
  18. Thanks John. I think i’ll Be waiting for reviews to come in to see if anyone tries this out. Even if they have a better gpu, it would be interesting to see the utilisation/headspace it would release.
  19. Ah. Bugger. Just spotted the CPu requirement is an i7 too. Well that sorts that out. Would need to upgrade CPU and likely MB as well as i’m Only on an i5-4690k OC :-( Edit. Or maybe not. Just checking some benchmarks and they look comparable.
  20. Yes, I can complain about the S. No integrated audio. I am wary of the lower refresh rate. I dislike the new form factor, both in terms of snugness of fit, the space it will take up on my desk when not being used, and because I will be unlikely to use my Widmovr lenses without changes For the price it isn’t a ‘good enough’ upgrade when I am likely to only be able to upgrade ‘once’ (irl considerations) No announcement/consideration by Oculus for those who want the next step up, not an sidegrade. A LOT of reviews are saying it is ‘good’ because it gets rid of the sensor faff which I don’t care about and the ‘slight’ increase in resolution, so if you have an original Rift, the upgrade is debatable. At $299 (once adjusted for UK prices) it MAY have been of interest. It’ll be £450 (or more!) by the time it gets to us which is too much for a ‘sidegrade’. I’m currently running with supersampling to get the best out of my Rift, so my question, (if you would like to have a stab at answering it?) is whether I would be able to run the Reverb undersampled (0.8 or 0.9) to get an acceptable frame rate. If not, then fine. Time to start saving up to replace the GPU too.
  21. Well, with the S Oculus have lost me. Looking at the Reverb with a LOt of interest. Only slight problem is my house is a 1070ti. I’m hoping a PD of 1.0 will give me acceptable frames via steamvr...
  22. Hmmm. Sounds interesting. Is the ‘driver getting stuck’ likely to be the cause of the ‘stuck’ vibrations we’re seeing? I would say for those flying in vr an ‘auto restart/reset’ would be a huge benefit. Of course - it would be better if the Forcefeel driver disb’t Get stuck at all! I guess that that is something the Realteus devs will have to fix.
  23. I've just run two tests using the experimental monitor. the first test I disabled damage I took off under afterburner and the effect persisted when back into military power. Experimental monitor showed this even after I crashed the plane. https://imgur.com/m0WThxI I then disabled afterburner, and took off on military power. Got some speed and popped out my speedbrake. An Effect persisted but when I looked at the monitor I saw nothing 'active' (If I understand correctly) https://imgur.com/dYd5lcL
  24. Hi f410. Only motor 5 gets 'stuck' when doing the test run in SSA. When in game, and an effect gets 'stuck' it's every motor (all 8 ). Closing the ibeJetSeatHandler has no effect on the forcefeel seat. I have to press the physical button on the seat and restart.
  25. Is it just ejecting? I.e. does afterburner or turbulence or ground roll also cause it? Does shutting down ssa stop it, or did you need to press the physical button on the seat?
