If this is the same movie I am thinking of, about the georgian war, its 100% propoganda. the clips that were kicking about on the net a whileback made the film look uber retarded. Also it was made by a georgian film company.

Flying computer useless due to annoying problem- help?
bumfire replied to Speed's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Seems to me that its either your keyboards or your windows installation, I know you said that you tried two keyboards, but try another, ps2 prefferably. If you have tried a new mobo, the only thing it can be is Windows or keyboard, it wont be your cpu, it wont be your memory, it wont be your dvd drive, it wont be your video card, it wont be your harddrive/s, so that only leaves your windows install OR your keyboards and mouse. You have ruled out faulty ports since you replaced the mobo so, I would try a brand new keyboard, ps2 version and with only that connected try again with a format and reinstall of windows. Dont plug the mouse in, when filling in boxes durign the reinstall, use TAB to change to a different box/field. EDIT: You might also want to change mouse aswell to see if the mouse/keyboard combo is the cause. Also, did you update your bios on the motherboards lately and if so, did the problem start after that ? if it did, roll back to the previous bios, if you havent updated your mobo bios, see if their is a newer bios available for your mobo. I cant see that having any effect unless the motherboards that you tested/used were the exact same model with the exact same bios firmware. If both mobo's were the same then that could mean that a certain mobo bios caused the problem ? or it could mean that the mobo/bios combo doesnt like your keyboard, which if its a usb keyboard can be quite common, hence the reason why its better to use a ps2 keyboard as they suffer from less compatibility problems than usb keyboards do. "IF" and I say "IF" lightly, if your Vista version isnt legit, which I have no reason to doubt you, and I dont care either way, but if it isnt legit, then problems like these can crop up due to the spyware and other crap that is hidden in these so called ultimate windows versions that float about the net that come pre-cracked. If thats the case a legit OS may very well fix the problem if its just caused by that. <----- please do not take that as me saying that you use haxed software, as I am only saying "IF" not that you "DO' use warez. Also what keyboard/s do you use, as on certain keyboards, some buttons once pressed act as modifiers, which inturn would mean that if you tried to type something, the keys would act as whatever the modifier wanted them to do, example Ctrl+c = copy, so pushing C on its own would copy something. Maybe you have a stuck modifier on your keyboard/s and just dont know it ? To be honest tho, if some keys work in one program but dont in another, to me it seems like it is just a software related bug that has been caused possibly by your spyware/viri crap that you caught, so I reckon a format would cure it, as you know the keys are working, but just not working in certain apps. -
I had to google the dudes name, now that I have. LOL

Oh yea, for sure they wanted him alive, that would of been a great trophy for the US, but having him dead serves the same purpose so in the end it works out the same. But alive would of been the more preferable outcome, but alas everyone knew he wasnt gunna be taken alive.
-
I find the way that Obama told the world how he died was funny. He said that "Bin Laden, AFTER a firefight was killed", not killed during the firefight, but AFTER. you better believe they took him out once they had captured him :)

Lol, I would rep you if it would let me, but it doesnt...
-
So, do we now change his last name ? to Osama's Bin Killed :)

Ok, I know its old stuff but its hard to get hold of good ddr for cheap nowadays. I have 4x512mb sticks totalling 2 gig in total of Great Extreme low latency DDR 400 memory pc3200. They have timings of 2-3-2-5 and will run at 1t no problem if your motherboard supports it, otherwise 2t will do instead. As I say being able to find the good ddr is hard nowadays, the value kind is everywhere but the good stuff isnt and if you do come across any the price usually reflects the fact that their isnt much on the market. I will sell these for 30 quid if anyone wants them, maybe for a second pc ? I dunno, but they are all fully functional and work great and have never been overclocked. £30 is my asking price if anyone wants to get jiggy with it. I know that nobody is probably gunna be wanting them, but since I came across them the other day I thought i would try and sell them before I threw them out since I no longer have any kit left that uses ddr.

That pic you saw is fake Pilotasso, well its fake if its the same headshot pic that everyone else is showing, as that pic was faked up when Bush was prez.

Here's me thinking he was hiding in the whitehouse. How wrong I was.

Yea, the x52 non pro version will do perfectly well, infact I think they are great sticks, a little on the light side but apart form that it is great for flight sims and with a good profile it becomes even better. Their is no real differences regarding the 52 and 52 pro, a couple things here and there but nothing that really seperates them and nothing that makes the 52pro worth the extra expense. I have one, I use the warthog now but I think my warthog throttle needs to be sent back so I will be relying on my trusty vanilla x52 to get me through the rma period.

Problem with Warthog Throttle
bumfire replied to Jg2001_Rasputin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have noticed that with the leds enabled, the slider THR_FC thingy will jump back and forth between settings, not much but enough to cause problems ingame, especially if I have zoom mapped to it, as it will then auto zoom in and out a little touch by itself constantly. If the leds are disabled then no such problem exists, its obviously interference coming from the led's/led power wires, but it is annoying and something I wouldnt of expected with something that cost so much. I am in touch with thrustmaster atm to see what can be done, but after telling them I am using the latest firmware and the latest target, they told me to install the latest target and make sure I am using the latest firmware, huh, I already told them I was in my email. Anyway, I will go through the rigmaroll of reinstalling target and doing what they said in the email and then I will reply to them, but I have a feeling that unless I wanna keep my throttle but never have the leds enabled I will have to send it back to them to get fixed. -

Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals
bumfire replied to delta9856's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the combat rudder pedals from saitek and I think they are great, they work perfect for me and my flying has improved 10 fold because of them. I would advise anyone who hasnt got pedals to check them out, you wont regret it. -
I would sell my right nut to fly in a prowler or a A6 Intruder, those are amongst my fav aircraft.

A f15 and a mig25 both hit 100k+ feet in years gone by, 114k feet for the mig25. The f15 was the uber stripped down streak eagle version dedicated to breaking records and the mig25 had uprated engines, I dont know if it was also modified to gain extra height, it probably was also stripped down to make it lighter. But those are crazy heights for real Aircraft, supposedly the streak eagle was faster than the apollo rocket getting to 50k feet. Also a english electric lightning intercepted a U2 at its working height and also intercepted and passed concorde from astern when concorde was going supersonic across the ocean to america, supposedly at the time the only nato aircraft that was capable of such a thing, as no other aircraft including the f15 could intercept concorde from the rear when it was going supersonic, I think the highest the lightning could get to was 90k feet before its engines started to pack up. Really crazy power thats contained in these jet engines.

Is their any word regarding the release of the printed manual for DCS A10C ? I am going nuts here alt -tabbing in and out of game, what makes it worse is sometimes my game shows uber graphical anomalies when alt tabbing and for me the manual cant come soon enough, as I loved the shark manual and cant wait for the a10 version. So is their any ETA regarding the manual or is it a case of "when its ready"?

If i forgo the computers before my amiga a500, if i forget about them then the first decent sim I flew was FA18 Interceptor circa 1986

FFS, I bought mine today for 49 bux, and got taxed 9 bux ontop. came to 35 quid all in, but this is BS cutting the price hours later. faggots for doing this to me.

I have similar system to succellus but with 280gtx and I run the game on max settings no problem, you should have no problems power5, maybe not everythign on max, but most things I would think. lovely game, also the same people made Wings of Prey, which is another wonderful looking game, with excellent ground graphics, why oh why IL2 CoD didnt use those guys or even use the same engine for the ground is unknown to me, as IL2 guys did help them model wise for wings of Prey, they made the aircraft models for them. Getting back to RoF, dam its crazy, the foker d1 has crazy lift and since no planes ave trim, its a never ending fight to keep things straight and level unless you use the level autopilot, I just have to figure out a good curve for my warthog so that I am not constantly fighting the aircraft. Anyone got any good ideas for a decent pitch response curve for the warthog for RoF ?

Heart Broken cause of my warthog stick
bumfire replied to bumfire's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yea oritpro I already have slight ulnar nerve problems, my pinky and the finger next to it curl in on both hands and go numb sometimes, it isnt bad, mostly happens when i am sleeping and also happens when I am leaning on my elbow and have my face in my palm and staring at the monitor, but the carpal tunnel problem is new and alot sorer than the ulnar nerve problem, everytime I touch anything with my thumb or forefinger, it feels like I am jabbing a pin to it, even the slightest of touches. Doc did say to me awhile ago that he could inject steroids into the elbow for the ulnar problem, but I took a pass as somehow I didnt fancy an injection in that particular place of my body since it doesnt affect me much. I will say tho that the pills and the rest do seem to be helping, as it doesnt seem to be as sharp a pain as it was at the begining of the week, so if I was a betting man I would say that if it keeps up at this rate, I should be back to normal within a month. :pilotfly: -
Heart Broken cause of my warthog stick
bumfire replied to bumfire's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yea, no way do I want an operation. My neighbour had an operation on both hands due to the same thing a few years ago and she said that it made it 100% worse and both her hands are now constantly numb and with a pins and needles like feeling, it wasnt nearly as bad before she got her op, so thats the last thing I want. I got diclofex, diclofenac sodium NSAID tablets to take for a month from the doc, heres hoping that the 2 week rest and the tablets will sort it all out for me so I can be back to flying pain free in a couple of weeks time, even using the keyboard is hurting now, so I reckon its a 2 week breather from the pc aswell. -
Heart Broken cause of my warthog stick
bumfire replied to bumfire's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was looking earlier on at what junk I have kicking about and I came across two black adjustable speaker stands, basically a thin tube with a flat top on it that can hold speakers and a U shaped base. Soo, I have decided after some quick testing to see if it would fit and be comfortable, I have decided to drill 4 holes in the top surface of the speaker stand, its only 3mil thick metal, drill them 4 holes and then take the base off the warthog and then screw the stick to the speaker stand and have it between my legs. It works, but will take time getting used to the new style. I will also need to position the throttle on the second stand, as if I move the stick to the central position, then their is no way I can leave the throttle on the desk where it is atm, as it just wouldnt be comfortable to fly like that as it would be to far away to reach without stretching. So I will give both stick and throttle a try on the speaker stands and if it works out, cool. If it doesnt work out then it looks like I will have to go the route bad crc has, having the stick to the side, should that and the 2 weeks rest fail, then its either an operation to cure it or to give up flying altogether and see if it gets better on its own. I aint giving up flying no matter what, so fingers crossed that it either goes away after a couple weeks rest and the new positioning stops it from coming back, or an op cures it so I dont have to worry about it anymore, I am praying for the former solution to do the trick. Cheers for the love
