Anyone connected a potentiometer to A-10C yet?
m0jo replied to TigersharkBAS's topic in Home Cockpits
DCS:BS solution with some modification to export.lua should work also with DCS:WH, see this post for more details: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=935486#post935486 -
The mission is quite simple, F-15, Su-27 and MiG-29 have a common waypoint 2 between their respective airbase. Some AI flight will take off and have a fighter sweep mission set at waypoint 2. For the A-10, Su-25 and Ka-50, each of their waypoint is a group of ~20 ennemy ground unit randomly placed on the ground. All these group spawn at the start of the mission so you can choose which group you will attack first. There are also some AI flight in ferry mode between friendly airport to fill the sky a bit.
-
Start the mission as a MP server instead of the normal SP game, when doing this, every planes are avalaible. This should not have any impact on performance. Random AI flight will take off and either just change airdrome, attack ground target or attack air target. Awacs will also respawn when they are shot down or landing at a airport. Also, sometime the generator can produce a invalid .miz, just re-download a mission and this will solve the problem.
-
The mission do work inside the game, nothing is shown in the mission editor but the unit are there ingame.
-
The units does not appear in the mission editor because I did put both coordinates inside the mission file. The game is using X/Y coordinate while the editor is using lat/long and those are set at 0-0 in the generator. I will probably recreate a new generator from scratch for DCS:WH this summer so I will not update this script.

You can already do that with export.lua and oakes export script

In the current export.lua, the method EKRAN:get_actual_text_frame() is only working with the Ekran. This method could be extended to the different apha-numeric display inside the Ka-50 and the A-10C. In the Ka-50, this function could export a string from the PVI-800 and the weapon panel. This function could also be used to export from the CDU and the countermeasures panel. Ka-50 PVI-800 (14x 7 segment display) PVI-800 (negative coordinate LED) UV-26 (3x 7 segment display) UV-26 (left and right LED ?) Weapon panel status (6x 7 segment display ) R-828 channel ID (7segment display) R-800 Radio frequency (6x 7segment display)

Another missing function on the KA-50 is a correct force-feedback centering on the pedals (yaw axis) because right now, the FFB settings are ignored on this axis even if the FFB is working perfectly on the X-Y axis of a Microsoft Force feedback 2 joystick. Right now, im using a Logitech force feedback wheel on the rudder and DCS:BS do not support either the MSFFB2 or this wheel on the rudder axis. However, The force feedback of the wheel is working correcly on FC2 because Im getting stall warning vibration on both the MSFFB2 and the Logitech wheel. The wheel seem to be even more sensitive to a stall because the pedals are shaking before the stick does. A few pictures of my Ka-50 cockpit with the force feedback rudder (with hall effect sensors) and the MSFFB2 (also with hall effect sensors) with a saitek X52 handle

User can only join with the default export.lua, like every other server. The mission are missing lat/long because i had trouble to convert the coordinate to from x/y to lat/long. I could correct this but the code for my program is ugly as hell, I will recode everything in Python next summer when warthog will be out and stable.

I have created a server using my mission generator I created a while ago. The mission on this server have random AI flight of plane and helicopter to the targets areas and between allied airport. Grounds units are also placed randomly around the airport in 5 different groups composed of tanks, apc, AAA and IR AA. Theses generated missions were not play tested before on a live server. Every type of aircraft/helicopter are available. (except Mig-29A) Also, this server has the Tacview .acmi available automatically ~1 minutes after a mission change. The Tacview track should be accurate because they are recorded live directly on the server, these are not recreated from the DCS track. These track are available at this location: https://www.simonguilbault.ca/dcsserver/ The integrity check on some files (export.lua included :music_whistling:) is also working on this server. Sometime, the server might crash because the generated .miz file might have some error in it. The server is running 2 different .miz file, "randomA" and "randomB" in rotation. I need to use 2 different .miz file because the game lock the file when the server is running. These 2 missions are generated with the same program and should be pretty similar. This server is hosted on a home connection (30 mbps/down, 1 mbps/up at the moment) and the server is running with a integrated Nvidia GFX card so performance will not be optimal. This server is just a proof of concept. The name of the server is "42th Dedicated with random generated mission". The IP adress of the server is 24.37.87.122:10308 I'm waiting for some feedback from the community.

has anybody fully mastered the abris system?
m0jo replied to Bee_Sting's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
A fourth satelites is needed to correct the inacurate receiver's clock: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Gps#Correcting_a_GPS_receiver.27s_clock -

m0jo replied to Bee_Sting's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
ABRIS don't display the correct position without ~4 satellites, go deep in a valley and hover, the position on the abris will drift. -
This look like a logarithmic pot and these wont work well with any interface card because they are not linear. Get a linear pot (taper B) instead if you are not using these with a real audio signal.

The shark flies like a ship at stormy weather
m0jo replied to ArtMan_NL's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Recalibrate the stick might help, the FFB will not hold correctly if the stick is not calibrated to the full range of motion. Also, hold the trim button when manuvering, this will desactivate the AP hold but not the dampening AP. When the button is released, the stick should stay still and the helicopter AP will hold the trajectory even with slight wind. -
There is a missing ) in this line: The correct code is probably:
-
Probably not, I will probably redo my program in python one DCS:W will be stable. DCS:W seem to have a similar built-in mission generator
-
Wait for the laser countdown cooldown to reach zero, if the cooldown is not completed, only 1 missile will launch.
-
This setup might have some focus issus with the projector because the lenght between the lens and the surface seem quite different for some points(top/bottom and side/center).

With oakes export.lua script with opencockpits cards (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45377)
-
The Ka-50 can produce a lot of torque with the co-axial rotor and the rudder also help. Real Ka-50 are able to move sideway at speed up to 100km/h Trim before, the auto-hover can only compensate 20% of pilot input Not a bug, a target was probably selected and the heading shown was the heading to the target Trim before using auto-hover. The AP have desactivated themselves because you lost AC power somewhere 3 minutes before engaging auto-hover. The INU need 3 minutes to realign itself and auto-hover only work with a working INU/doppler radar. The lost of AC power was probably due to a low rotor RPM condition

Epoxy glue could work instead of welding

What ever would be included, you have to file check export.lua and any mods that it allows. That means for example, including mods that give external instruments in a mandatory download pack. Possible but must be agreed upon. Starting with just ERI makes it easier. My script allow some modification to the exported data without requiring every user to have the same exports files due to IC. The user can customised his script and even try to export some blocked function but instead of receiving the real value, the user is receiving "0" if the function is blocked. External instrumentation could set by the user because my script have some files that should not be IC to allow customisation.
-
Also this could solve the problem of the majority of pitbuilders if some export functions could be used. I have created a export.lua script some times ago to solve this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=55650. I could modifiy this script to include ERI depending of the variable "NotAllowed" inside the script.

That's normal at the moment; I don't have the mathematical formulas to convert cartesian coordinates to spherical coordinate and the mission editor is using spherical coordinate unlike the game

I created a mission generator for DCS:BS and FC2. At the moment, the missions are composed of a few random targets areas for grounds pounder and a common waypoint for fighter between blue and red airbases. This script is available at: (Still a WIP) Todo Triggers to hide target area until the precedent one is clean Right now all TA spawn at the beginning and the mission don't change when the objective is reach. [*]Briefing text [*]Briefing map with the generated TA displayed Can also be created with PHP on the fly I need a good map (picture) where airports are visible [*]Tanker, AWACS and transport [*]A better selection of unit in the targets area and at the airport defense Somebody could create a list of units [*]FARP support [*]Conversion of cartesian coordinates to spherical coordinates for the mission editor I need the mathematical formulas to convert the coordinates [*]Cleanup the slot selection screen (done) [*]Find a way to remove trees or move the TA away from forests [*]Season and weather random (already have random wind) 1 season a week ? [*]Dynamic campaign I'm going to analyses the debrief.log and calculate a general score with how many units are dead Somebody could make a list of stages(where the planes are spawning depending of the score) Contact me if you need help setting this on a server.
