So, my usual bombing practice is, load up 10 Mk-82s, set to drop as pairs, which is 5 passes. After 2 passes, 4 Mk-82s, the next six passes result in only dropping one Mk-82. Even though the Jester A/G menu still shows "Pairs" as the selected mode. Today's test, after dropping six Mk-82s (4 in pairs, then 2 singles), I recycled Jester to drop pairs, and still only dropped one at a time. I have noticed this happening to me the last few weeks, first in the Caucasus map and lately in the PG map on a multiplayer server.

I have recreated the 1989 MiG-23 shoot down in DCS

Good job, well done! -
I am also a big fan of Robotech. Why don't you go with flatout Macross? F-14 or even F/A-18 is very similar to VF-1s. Just wondering, but I'll definitely keep an eye on your progress.

https://orbxdirect.com/ This is probably what you are looking for.

In wartime situations, I would think that as long as there was a long enough hard top surface, it would be used as a runway. So why are people questioning taking off from the taxi ways? Under normal circumstances it's not funny, but as an F-14 pilot, we did when the RIO bug was there when you crossed the runway.

Also please note the C/D variant did not come out until 1987 I believe. Thank you for acknowledging their retirement!

When in the Jester STT Lock menu, look at position 4 and 6. Four (4) I believe is select target, which in your scenario, would show 4 choices to choose from. Six (6) iis selecting by target number which I haven't quite figured out completely. Give it a try

Yesterday, I had the Jester bug explode. Jester went from one quip to the next, non-stop. So not sure if was fixed or new problem.

I had something like this happen prior to this patch. Did you do anything during the auto-start, i.e. rearm & refuel, set waypoints or tacan? Not that those things could cause the hangup, but if I just let it run and did all my stuff before or after, I never had an issue again. Just a thought, I'll let the professionals get specific
-
I have experienced what you are talking about, but what you have to remember is that TACAN is 'Line of Sight' (LOS). Meaning you have to be high enough for the antenna to "see" the TACAN station you dialed in. Just my two-cents to help you out, I have had no problems with TACAN lately on MP.

I am not an expert on the inner workings of systems (search and fire control radars), I just used them for many years. You just have to understand there are two methods of reporting contacts: True Bearing- Is what you are use to, North is 000 and you course or heading means nothing. Relative Bearing- Your nose (heading) is 000 and things are reported in that fashion. Again, not an expert, but I believe early systems (F-14 is not new) used Relative bearings in its calculations, not True bearing. Hence the TID shows Relative bearing. Any system experts help me out here if I am wrong. Hopefully that makes sense.

Same here, last night the Jester menu popped up without speeding the video up.

Joey45, not being mean, but a little smart. We know the list is based on distance, hence the request to look into placing the "tuned" airfield in the F1 position.
-
Thank you Wexler, I can definitely wait. I was just throwing this out there to see what you all think of the topic. I have heard of the ATC update, and I am looking forward to see what they come up with.
-
Let me be clear about this request. When I enter a freq into the radio, and then use radio (1 or 2), I would like to see the station I am calling appear as the F1 selection. It would be nice to contact an airfield 50 miles out and get a vector.
-
Kind of a question and a wish if it is not implemented already. So I take all the time to input the correct freq into the radio for landing at an airfield. I key the radio to call the ATC and report inbound, and the airfield I am heading for is not on the menu. Since I am tuned into the correct freq for the airfield, shouldn't the airfield appear on the menu? Here is an example I have had happen a few times. After messing around with the Carrier Battle Group, I am ready to return to Batumi. Climbing to a good altitude about 50 miles out with the radio tuned into Batumi ATC, I key the radio and all the ships in the CBG appear in the menu. No Batumi in the menu. What do you all think?

I found the plane where the cockpit was copied from!

There is a truck driving school :o) -
Just to make sure it's clear in this thread, with the canopy closed you can not talk/yell to the ground crew. Why, because the canopy is closed. That is a very good model :o) Make sure you use the "/" to open the intercom with the ground crew when you have the canopy closed.

I noticed something to that effect as well last night. My thought is when the menu opens, the radial point on you look access should be centered in the middle of the menu. So when you look at your target option, you are actually looking at your target option. What I experienced may be what you are saying. In VR, I opened Jester while looking off center (away from the HUD) and it felt like I had to leave my head in that position, and land the vector on my target option from where I was looking when I opened Jester. Gonna play with it more tonight. Interested to see where this thread goes.

Simple autopilot for planes that doesn't have any.
tstorey37 replied to Kongamato's topic in DCS Core Wish List
When DCS is modeling themselves as the best simulator in the business, dedicated to realism, why would you add features that are not real? You are asking for something that is not real, then telling people that want to keep the realism that you need it so it should be implemented. Why should the communities desires for realism, and DCS' goal of making a realistic simulation be changed. As much as you say we should accept your desires, there are many other games out there that have your feature if you do not respect the realism that DCS and this community are looking for in a game. -
Tweaking everything may help you out a lot, but if you are really into DCS instead of upgrading to the 2080Ti, I'd look at getting a 144Hz monitor. Surprisingly your monitor can bottleneck a high-end video card.
