  1. I already have the next one. Alpha testing it now. I'll post a screen shot. DCS Flying Toaster
  2. Perhaps one of these are what he/she meant to link to? http://www.dcswiki.com/index.php?title=Climb_charts_%28A-10%29 http://www.dcswiki.com/index.php?title=Climb_performance_%28A-10%29 http://www.dcswiki.com/index.php?title=Category:Performance http://www.dcswiki.com/index.php?title=Angle_of_attack_indicator_%28A-10%29
  3. Haha, this is a cool picture!
  4. Regardless of whether or not the world being round or flat is important or not, it does make for some interesting talk and reading... :smartass:
  5. While I know that an exact release date cannot be given, is it possible to know if the Nevada project is on track or if it is running into issues that may perhaps delay it? o.O
  6. While I'll reserve most praise for when I actually see it in action, I will admit that it is a good next move. Any idea as to how it's done? A skybox trick? I've never taken the hog up that high to know if the cirrus cloud actually modeled or not. One of these days there will be another big leap in this area for flight sims (the latest being DCS's dynamic weather system imo). I hope that ED is the team that makes it happen :)
  7. Any new news on this front lately?
  8. I do wish they would tell us how big the map is and some key features it contains... That would be nice. But, perhaps they plan to feed us those pieces at a later time.
  9. That's what I was guessing he was asking (see my first post). However, I don't really know the answer. I was just hoping to understand, translate and then have someone who knew answer. But Bengo is right, his best bet is to ask on the German forums. I'm sure they already know.
  10. Suchen Sie das Spiel in eine Box oder auf das Internet? Was ist das Problem mit dem Spiel auf Amazon? Sind Sie nicht in Deutschland? Ugh, es tut mir leid, meine Grammatik ist ein bisschen rostig lol
  11. I believe he is asking what the most current German version is, maybe? Christian, fragen Sie wann, was oder wer?
  12. Probably the latter with a visit from the suits and men in blue. lol
  13. Yes. ;)
  14. Unless you've lost a large amount of money at some of these aforementioned casinos, Rustynuts, your comment is a little... nuts... lol
  15. Hahaha... oooh, this made me laugh. Sorry, I shouldn't because it's kind of mean to laugh at him just for not knowing how to fly; most ppl don't know how. But it made me chuckle, nonetheless. "....they do give you about 30 different options and boxes that you can check to make flying as easy as possible. I have every single one of them checked because when I turned them off, the plane was being battered around in the air by wind." lol But, back on topic, yes, after seeing the videos, the clouds are very well done in that sim. I'd love to see clouds like that in DCS. :)
  16. Don't forget my cloud question! lol I feel like that thing from Dr. Seuss, but instead of speaking for the trees, I speak for the clouds... -_-
  17. I suppose one way they could handle it is by simply making a portion of the right side of the monitor the monocle with it's own images while the left is in the cockpit. Perhaps some people could use a second monitor for the monocle but if they only have the one, then it'd be like 25% to 50% of the right side of the screen is has the monocle, and that can be lowered or raised with a keystroke like the NVG. Regardless, the solution would be interesting to see.
  18. huh.. I didn't realize it would be free. I will admit that the clouds in the third image look a little weird. They look like... idk... blurry whipped ice cream? It could be better in motion, but it looks like there, it's not meant to be seen so close. It looks too smooth and blurry. Or something... But the fact that they have more than just cumulus, cirrus, and perhaps nimbostratus clouds, is nice. (again, I'm not bashing DCS. ED, you are by far my favorite. I only want your sims to get better and better. :) )
  19. That Apache video was really cool (despite the fact that I already saw it on tv), it did sort of bring up a problem, though. How would we use the monocle? One can't exactly shift focus on a flat monitor... Unless that is an exclusive feature to the Longbow and the A variant would not have such an issue. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see DCS do the Longbow. I'm just pointing this out. Unless someone made a small screen monocle that we could wear. That would be sweet.
  20. Hm. If you're point is that the real screens aren't as clear as 1024 is, I suppose that may be true. But I couldn't help but note that that video, even at 1080, was still slightly blurry, even where it shouldn't be (the text on the screen). So, it stands to reason that while it may be true that the real screens are slightly blurrier than the sim's 1024 resolution, it isn't quite as blurry as that particular video makes it out to be. Now, I have not ever tried 256, purely because I try to have the best graphics I can, I will try it next time as I have noticed that I lose some frames when I activate my TGP. So, I'll probably switch over for the frame boost, if nothing else.
  21. I agree that the terrain looks amazing. It really does. It is a great improvement. But, I feel that after inquiring about cloud improvement I'm obligated to ask, does this new terrain engine have any cloud improvements? The screenshots only feature a few extremely high clouds. (granted, in the desert there aren't often huge cumulonimbus clouds, but there still can be.) Perhaps there should be some giant rolling haboobs lol
  22. 1024 every frame is "forbidden"? Why is that, exactly?
  23. I suppose I'll have to drink some Guinness now! ...And I say that like that's a bad thing... Correction: I'll drink some Guinness to these great new screenshots! :P
  24. It amazes me too. Especially when considering the issues with water. Yay for the rapid depletion of the world's clean water supply! Yay for over population! But, that aside, deserts, imho, are just a beautiful as mountains, forests and jungles, and oceanic beaches. I don't think there is a place on Earth that doesn't have something amazing about it. Especially in the skies! :pilotfly:
