  1. I'd like to buy a manual as I did for Lockon as it can be used to read up whilst on the train to work or sitting with the gf while watching tv. Computer time is flying time and not manual reading time for me. :)
  2. Does anyone remember Tomahawk? http://www.mobygames.com/game/tomahawk/screenshots
  3. Was going mad trying to put an avatar up and I saw this so cool :)
  4. Awesome, am reading the book Warthog right now and on the way into work was thinking about when the DCS A10 would be out. In the meantime DCS Blackshark is more than enough to keep me going. DCS is proving to be an awesome programme and the software quality is pure gold. Best $49 I've spent in a long time and I'll be buying all the others. If the flight model is detailed enough to have the aircrafts instability which am reading about show up as emergent bahavior then that would be truely awesome. In the book it says it is a half joke that the trimming is so bad that rather than jink under AAA fire they just goes hands off on the plane and it flies randomly enough. :)
  5. To be able to buy the printed manual
  6. Have to totally agree, I didn;t mean to imply otherwise, personally I think this is one of the best 1.0 releases of any software that I have seen. Well done ED and I look forward to buying more DCS releases.
  7. After taking a real flight lesson in a R44 a couple of years ago I found out that flysing helicopters is really really hard compared to fixed wing aircraft. In BS I train myself by turning the autopilot off and flying around the airfield and also by putting a curve into the control options so that it isn't so twitchy. As the comments above indicate you have to get your muscle memory to learn to fly the chopper rather than trying to chase the controls and that will take a few hours of flying to do.
  8. From what I gather atm the engine just uses a single core and is more CPU bound than graphics bound. Am going to be upgrading my MB, CPU and RAM first before anything else, however even on my ancient rig it runs fine with settings set to low.
  9. Some valid points in this thread. I think it has to be borne in mind that DCS BS is still a 1.0 product and thus not everything will be fantastic at launch but will get better over time as new patches and products join the line. The inclusion of an editor allows for crowd sourcing of missions and campaigns so I expect to see some quality content to come.
  10. Shame, it's a nice helicopter that with apparently low costs would be a big export winner.
  11. I've noticed sometimes that the thing can drift very very slowly, thought it might be accumulative errors in the INU causing the drift. The comment about hover hold seems very appropriate. One thing I've noticed is that I can sometimes have it trimmed up etc, engage the hover and it starts going all over the place. Afterwards it feels like the autopilot is off (I've started to fly with the AP off to train up flying skills) even though the AP buttons are lit. Might have engaged auto hover under 4m though so that could be a trigger.
