When are the devs of this flight simulator gonna take Virtual Reality seriously ? The random lag and stuttering while flying in VR is absolutely game breaking. Just take a look at my case; https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sDPc3lCye68ZGSXJvR-lgIgTHMQDjvey (I know Google drive has a bad rep of playing videos but it was the best i could do under my current circumstances) I am quite sure i am not the only one who has this problem, but the point is, this problem has persisted ever since VR compatibility has been introduced to DCS: World. I feels like the devs just slapped some bad code to make it just compatible enough to "work" and never looked at it again. It is quite frustrating to know that the devs have seemingly "abandoned" the VR scene and deemed it "good enough". I wonder how long it'll take before DCS Developers realises VR is something to properly develop into a real, flawless feature.

Well it looks like i need to invest in a Rift S when it comes out.

reported earlier searchlight ...lack of power/distance
DeTesla replied to mastercosta's topic in DCS: UH-1H
The emitters of light is outdated in DCS. We need a rework of the lighting system aswell as new sprites. -
To Belsimtek and Eagle Dynamics about the UH-1D Huey

But does not that make us helicopter pilots the special kind ? I am all for more modules and good updates, but if we're a minority, we will be less prioritized than the jet flybois.. -
Addon Tents, Watchtower, UH-1-Cargo

Well apparently some textures from the mod is missing indeed, however from the models ive seen, not all is texture-less. Its only a few apparently. I reckon its outdated, so if it does not show up ingame, its because DCS is disabling the mesh due to missing textures. -

I might get lynched for bumping this, but this is too good to be true. Does it work in the current version ? -
This looks awesome so far. I wish you the best in your efforts, my dude :)

As a person who've flown the Huey for years, there is only one way to master that helicopter; Practice, and when you think you've mastered it, you have not, practice some more. If you manage to stay away from VRS you should be fine, just keep a stable glideslope above 35 kts, and you'll be fine.

Let me just start off by saying: I would pay real money, again, no regrets, for the Huey to be properly updated. And i know a lot of people would disagree with this. The Real Flying Angels.. I love the UH-1D Huey, and I've loved it ever since it got out. I know it costs a lot of money to work on such an intricate simulator like DCS: World, with all its modules, its decades of combined work to make it the most complete, never before seen military flight simulator, and i applaud every developer across the different companies, i thank you greatly for your hard work, as they are the real flying angels of our game-dev generation. For me, DCS: World in a nutshell.. As a dedicated DCS Huey pilot doing mostly C\SAR and sling loading, I have learned so much in general about the aircraft, from hundreds of hours of flying, the joy I've had is nearly un-measurable, because I finally had the most advanced and complete helicopter simulator ever made, which other flight sims like FSX and X-plane could never do, and I have not touched FSX nor X-plane in quite a few years. I have learned more from DCS than i ever did from the other flight simulators because the "realism" wasn't really there. The Virtual Reality implementation made all this even better, and I can live with reduced resolution and lack of pixel density because, the amount of situational awareness i, and im sure you too, get from VR is absolutely unprecedented in our time, thinking back a decade or further where people used CRT screens and "pancake" screens. But, alas.. Even now, several years after its release, it still has a few bugs and knacks around, which never seem to get fixed, due to either complications or issues not known by us, but only the developers. We have the famous navigation lights which illuminates through solid objects, like the floor of the Huey, illuminating the cockpit. If you have anti-collision lights as well as position lights set to strobe\flash, you can have a rave party while you're flying, which I am all for, although, during Night-Ops, it can get tedious if you're flying in formation. The landing light and search light is heavily outdated and it does not look good in any sense. They also does not illuminate far, and in C\SAR, to have searchlights having the ability to properly illuminate an area in which you're searching, is literally invaluable, but for now, this is not possible unless you lower yourself to an altitude too low for C\SAR. I could go on about every bug till I scrape the bottom of the bucket, but that wont do anyone any good, because I am well aware it has been raised in the past in numerous posts, and I am quite sure Belsimtek knows this very well after many years of feedback. In Another Timeline.. No, this post is mostly to try to appreciate the developers of Eagle Dynamics and its fellow module-companies, because without them, without their immense and unending work, we would not be here today, and DCS: World would still be a heavily outdated LockOn: Modern Air Combat, but i am quite sure if that were the case, people would still play it till kingdom come. I myself played LockOn back in the day, on my CRT tube-screen on a computer from 2005. Good times indeed. Now if you still are reading this, I hope that you too will appreciate the time and dedication of all these developers, providing jobs and opportunities more than one developer, because I am in heavy debt to them for the countless hours of fun i've had over the years, and that is why i am willing to pay, again, for the Huey, because it is well worth the money, and it goes to a great team of people who need it to get their morning coffee. Thank you for reading, hope it wasn't too long.

[REPORTED] fix for nav and beacon lights shining inside cockpit
DeTesla replied to bkthunder's topic in Bugs and Problems
+1 indeed. Flying night-ops with nightvision (not that you'd need external lights for night ops) is impossible. Also it get tedious in length if you fly at night without nightvision. -
Pressong F10 while in VR is a death sentence
DeTesla replied to DeTesla's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I am running DCS off a SSD yes. Thing is, its not my system, because normally i can fly nearly lagless on the Aerobatic server MP, even fully populated. Its when i switch from F1 to F10 and back again it nearly always happens. Its like russian roulette "Do i want to risk it just to see where i am relative to the map".. No, my rig is fully capable of running DCS lagfree, singleplayer shows that enough with 40-50 FPS.. -
Honestly, i love DCS in VR, its gives you a situational awareness that is unlike anything before in FlightSims. I love it! However, the laggspikes that persists till you quit\restart the game, caused by most prominently switching between F1 and F10, and the random lagg in MP, makes this literally unplayable. My rig is in my signature for those of you who wonder if my specs are up to date. The effects are mostly shown by that the oculus rift drivers is desynced with DCS, by looking left and right, DCS cant keep up, so you see the "window" of blackness in your peripherals. I've seen this brought up many times before, and thats all fair, its good that it gets known, but my question is: Why is this even still a thing ? Enough time has passed to allow ED-devs to recognise a problem, then find a solution to patch up the preformance issue. Are they deaf to user input ?

Because oh boy that FM.. Ive heard stories, but i never believed, much because of the Huey and MI-8, even though its from a different developer, but now i believe. No way i'd pick this up at full price. I would be quite furious if i did and found out the FM is as stiff as BF2..
-
Dude thats brilliant! I never thought of that. Will implement asap!
-
Yes, im running DCS Beta branch. This happens primarily in MP, dosent matter which server. I usually avoid looking at the map all together, however, it makes it a bit harder to find out where the Stennis is etc.
-
Thanks, my dude. Now i know it is known.

Anybody noticed severe lagg when switching from cockpit view to F10 map view and then back to cockpit view again ? I've never experienced anything like it. It ends up with me having to forcekill DCS through terminal. My specs are up to date.
