Hello I would like to see a new command/feature in the editor. Example i would like to be able to create a trigger that I can connect to example a radar or other units.. that can activate something when the unit see the enemy. Example mission I wold like to setup 1 zone. And then I like to insert 1 large radar. When bluefor is detected by the radar in the zone ( or by the radar ) then I would like a trigger to activate example my mig29 planes so they can startup and takeoff to intercept bluefor.

Its a known bug DO NOT use the lower MDF when you program the HSI waypoints and cordinates.. Only use the top left and right MDF's. ( only use the lower MDF during flight dont use for programming ). https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3522401#post3522401

Hello Yesterday i found a bug in the lower MDF ( screen ). The problem is that when I enter a custom waypoint then I cannot change waypoint with the waypoint button on the DATA page and cycle though waypoint 0-1-2-3 On the screen it look like waypiont 0 all the time, but when you press the waypoint button then you can see the coordinates change. Both the waypoint number, and the Waypoint text on the data screen do not change on the lower MDF behind the joystick. But if you program a custom waypoint and enter coordinates via one of the left or right MDF then you can change waypoints. If you only use the top left and right MDF for programming waypoints then everything work perfect.. But if you use the lower MDF then the above will happen. How to reproduce. 1). Use the Lower MDF behind the joystick 2). Press MODE 2 times until the HSI turn black ( then the text is more easy to see ). 3). Press DATA 4). In lower left corner press "sequens" 5). Press INS and press 0 enter.. press INS and press 1 enter Press INS and press 2 enter Press INS and press 3 enter Now you have waypoint 0-1-2-3 6). Press UFC button and click on the button named POSN An easy example with unrealistic coordinates that are fast to test. Press N22222 and enter. Press E11111 and enter Now your MDF is updated with the above coordinates. But when you try to press the waypoint up and down button on the lower MDF then it will not change the waypoint number. ( but the coordinate change) And it will also not update the Waypoint number on the top of the lower MDF. 6). If you Now try to use your your Left or Right MDF and Press MODE and HSI and DATA then you are able to change the waypoint via the waypoint buttons, and you also see the text update example waypoint 1. Notise that the lower MDF screen do not change its waypoint or waypoint text. I hope this had the required information to illustrate and find the problem.

I notised yesterday that when you program a waypoint hen ONLY use the top left and right MDF screens, DO NOT use the lower MDF behind the joystick. I notised that the lower MDF when programming you cannot change inbetween waypoints... ( however when you use the top left and right, and program manual waypoints then when you change waypoint it also change on lower mdf, so there is a bug of some kind ).

Here are my X55 setup... but i dont have a scematic for it.. But maybe you can view it in the saitek software and get some tips. Be aviced my keyboard is Danish so maybe 1 or 2 commands are maybe not compatible with your keyboard. Example on the joystick the left "4 way pow" when you push this right or left it uses the command altgr and æ on my keyboard. - Technical speaking i think the f18c uses the american keyboard as standard. Below i have attached the F18c profile and the A10c profile. f18 and a10 x55 profile.rar

Good question. Actual i dont know the answer but i could read about a similar question via. google and it say...: DCS is not capable of rearming and refueling AI. ( the answer is many years old ) But as far as i know I dont think the AI wingman can refule. ( i could be wrong) I think it would be wise to give your wingman unlimited fuel in the advanced waypoint tap or something like that, or at least give him extra fuel tanks. I think especially with the f18c the f18 wingman uses way to much fuel all the time since he uses the afterburner to much. The f18 is very thirsty

Hello This Virtual clan have made their own mod for the carrier, and I can see in some of the videos on this webpage that you with their mod can stand i the tower and look via. trackir or Vr... and also you can stand as the LSO officer near the edge of the carrier, and i guess maybe even walk arround a little bit... try watching some of these videos maybe you find what you look for. I can confirm this bug. Tacan channel 1X do not work as standard. - I did not check if you remove the text and make a new tacan 1x channel if that work. In the editor do the following to make it work. Select the carrier stennis and select advanced waypoint. Delete the TACAN channel X1 make a new command and select Tacan channel 55X instead. If you program tacan channel 55X in the F18c then it will work. Also the default radio for the carrier is 127.500 but you cannot see this anywhere.. It would be nice if this info was visible ingame when clicking on the carrier. -

just want to say that I think the com Mix up AM and FM Frq so next time you guys have problems with the radio try to change AM to FM or FM to AM. Sometimes when i enter a radio channel that in the briefing say example 251.000 AM then i actual have to type 251.000 FM to make it work. I had this issue with the c130 refuel plane. -
Hello. I have attached a simple mission ( for the persian map ) You start on the carrier. - All required infor are in the briefing.. however the text is in Danish BUT you can read the tacan and com channel and guess what is what. ;-) As said its rather simple. ( name F18test1.miz ) There is 1 carrier 4 f18c that all start with bombs and aa missiles and 1 fuel tank. ( you can jettison or rearm to remove them ) Taxi to launch bar and press U and your f18 will be ready to go.. add full power and you are airborn. Waypoint 1 is an island about 5-10 minutes flight away where you can bomb targets ( there are smoke next to the targets ) There are also 4x mi8 helicopters you can practice shooting down. There is 1 c130 refuel plane that fly in a square box arround the island in 10.000 height at 254 speed. ( you need to be close to tanker when saying ready to pre contact ) and maybe have to try a few times to call it on the radio to work. ( com frq select M radio channel and enter the freq ). Technical speaking the mission ahve "easy radio", meaning just use the radio system and select what you want, and it will automatic program the planes radio for you.. You maybe have to call 2 times to example the refule plane or other to talk to them the first time. PS.. In multiplayer with this mission it happens that two planes spawn on top of each other.. due to a bug Also when you drop your bombs, it will as standard drop 2 bombs every time... this is also a f18 bug. And if you rearm on the ship after dropping bombs, then you cannot select the new bombs in the f18 and drop them.. this is also a bug. So basicly if you go shoot something and want new weapons, reastart the mission. PPS.. if you make your own mission with a carrier, then i recommend that you place the carrier and then click the carrier and select advanced waypoint... Delete the top line, and then insert a new command saying TACAN 55X. ( the std. com for the carrier is 127.500 no need to fix this ) Next place the f18 on top of the carrier and select "start from ramp, or start from parking" the difference inbetween are that one start the plane cold and dark, the other with engines running.. . You need to use the "stennis carrier" and the f18c blog 20 ( marked with yellow text if you select usa ). F18test1.miz

I think there are some bugs with the Tacan and also the radio com system. Yes sometimes i do actual help holding in the Enter key for example 3 seconds, els the com frq just dissaper sometimes. Sometimes i notised that example when it say tacan channel 55X, then i need to trype 55Y instead for making example a refuel plane show up in the hornets system. And regarding the com, then sometimes I had to select AM instead of FM and then the radio system work. As i said i think it might be a bug, not sure if it happne to you guys. -
My guess could be that you forgot to turn the "bleed air" valve, or maybe turn it 360 degree in the wrong direction. I think you need to turn it 360 degree in a clock wise direction after your startup the right engine. or maybe you try to takeoff with only 1 engine that maybe do not add enough power.. ( maybe you setup your joystick wrong so it only give power on one engine. ). Remember to take off with full flaps. Maybe also check if you press "take off" trim.

The default is 1X the last time i look in the editor. ( however in some pre made missions its 55X i presume ). As Default in the Editor the Carrier named Stennis have a tacan code of 1X, and the hornet start with the tacan 1X selected. However the above does not work and i think its a bug. Here is how to make it work.. In the editor insert the carrier and click on the carrier 1 time and choose edit.. Select advanced and there you should delete the first text that say something with xxxxxx 1X so the advanced section is clear.. Now add a new command and somewhere select "tacan". Select the tacan channel to be 55X Now save the mission... Now your carrier will be working on channel 55X, you do however need to select 55X in your f18. To make the f18 start on the carrier place it on top of your carrier and ask it to start at Ramp or parking location... Ramp is with engines running, park means hornet will start turned off. PS. default radio channel for the carrier is 127.500 FM

In my editor I am able to set the Tacan channel of the carrier to 55X and that work perfect every time. - If i change the tacan channel of a refuel plane, to example 18X then the F18 can only show me the direction, but no information about the range. ( that is strange ). ( the c130 refuel plane ). However tacan 1X that the f18 start with, and should be the std carrier tacan channel never work for me... ( on the persian map, did not test on other maps ). By the way to change the tacan channel go in to advanced waypoint and deleted the tacan 1x and then make a new advanced waypond command with tacan 55X. and by the way the std. radio for the carrier is 127.500 no need to enter this in the editor, thought it would be handy to write this number in the briefing so people know. ( actual it would be good if when you click on the carrier on the map ingame that you get information about the carrieres tacan chanel and radio frq, just like if you click on an airport ). -

ADF static sound bug. ( when using the ADF 1 and 2 then sometimes you get a static sound that you cannot turn off... ) -
Thank you, i was able to disable some of the static sound, but I cannot turn off both radio 1 and radio 2 at the same time with the button SQCH button since there is a bug. How to reproduce. 1). Tune any radio channel so you can see the FRQ on the screen ( pull in radio preset channel selector dial ). 2). switch ADF1 on and then click the button SQCH, now the static sound turn off. 3). switch ADF to off. 4). now turn on radio 2 so you see the FRQ on the screen. 5). Switch the ADF to 2 possition and you hear the static sound again. 6). Now the SQCH button do no longer work, and you will never be able to turn off your both radio 1 or 2 at the same time, and the SQCH button stop to work for radio 2. ( you can technical speaking turn down the volume of one of them. as work arround. Technical speaking just use radio 1 with ADF 1 and avoid using ADF2 then problem will not happen.).

same problem here. Tip. Maybe game is monitoring the wrong plane/player. There are 2 f18c in the game. The AI plane F18C ( unplayable ) And The F18C lot 20 ( early access playable ) -
Hello. When I try to activate the F18 in the main menu ( i see the popup install f18 ) Then the game crash and i get an very long error tekst. 00003.482 ERROR: Unknown module FA-18C I am running dcs world Beta How can i fix this ? autoupdate_log.txt

I imagine the Radar in the f18c is much like in the F16 The f16 also have many radar modes and many mfd pages. I would imagine if you look some videos of the old falcon 4.0 or Falcon BMS that this is what you can expect from the f18 radar. There are several sub modes such as GM- GMT - SEA- EXT 1, EXT 2 and other modes. Tip..: here is BMS 4.33 video.. there are more radar in this one, and by the way a cool video that show how far the old falcon 4.0 have advanced into what look like a more modern sim.. by the way it is fans of falcon 4 who keep developing on the sim since it was discontinued more than 10 years ago.. really amazing what they are doing I like to say this is a guess, i dont know the f18c that well, but they are from more or less the same era, and have the same look alike cockpit with some differences.. Example the f15-f16-f18 and other planes all have the same MDF computer screen with buttons arround the display. And they have many other things in common. PS... If some of you do not know Falcon 4.0 that can be bought on steam. Then i can highly recommend it, especially if you get the mod BMS then the old game get some newer graphics and many new more "real life" features that add more to this old game...However there are less buttons to press than in dcs, but never the less the falcon 4.0 game have the best dynamic war campaign avaliable. game cost 10usd on steam.

I can confirm that there sometimes are problems starting the mirage 2000 in MP. My friend fly the mirage and sometimes we have to restart the mission for him to be able to start it. Must be some kind of bug. It typical happen when respawning after being killed.

+1 I can confirm the bug of missing runway lights in multiplayer. I could see the runway light, but my friends could not see the light. ( this was a few days ago did not notise version name ect ). -
thank you Hi guys. Just wanted to say thank you for all the many good, and funny comments to my origial tread about "reverse taxi on carrier". I did not imagined today there would have been 45 posts, but never the less thank you for the interest. And ofcourse I still hope to see some kind of reverse feature to make it a little more easy to park og to get unstuck on the carrier ;-) I think this video illustrate pretty good, why it could be usefull to reverse or park a plane in dcs he he
