I can enter laser code and the people i fly with can. I think the problem is you doing something wrong.

Tip for easy refuel.. Line ud behind the plane and match its speed and altitude. Turn on the autopilot to fly leven and maintain height Now your joystick become very stiff and not very responsive = making it much more easy to do small adjustments and refuel the plane. You can also next to your trottle push or pull a small black level in the plane so the trust become less sensitive as well. You might have to add/reduce power a tiny bit while you refuel on/off all the time, but you will be able to refuel and keeping rather steady. = easy refueling. Once you do the above its become much more easy to refuel for everyone. PS:. if the tanker turns while you refuel then you cannot follow it.!!

My joystick is not 100% equal to the real f18c joystick so i moved my weapons select switch somewhere els. But i use the weapon select switch from the image / (also known as recce button )to act as the button that need to be pressed, while i slew the maveric "tgp" with a pov on my power joystick. My pov do have a build in keyboard press, but i dont know how to make it work that way and also it just feel more natural to do it the way i do. ;-) The keyboard button you need to hold in are by the way ( enter ) ( i have the virpil vpc-warbrd wit ha t-50 handle i think its called and the t-50 mongoost power joystick )

TIP.. Remember to dump fuel so your plane is not to heavy when you land. The lighter your plane is the slower you can fly, the more easy it is to land. land with less than 3500 fuel. tip if the ship is sailing in direction 300, then -9 degrees and then you shall land in direction 291. The last 100m when you are lined up and ready to land, then look at the ball and forget about your instruments.. ( 2-4 seconds before you land ) and add power/lower power so the ball is in the middle. It dont require much adjustment. Tip.. in general TRIM your plane when you are flying streight and at the landing speed you like to land with.. this make it more easy.. In genereal in all planes/helis in dcs and real world trim trim trim trim. And once you are trimmed use the power to add/reduce to gain height or loose height.. it require some practice but once you master it your landings will be fantastic ;-)

[CAN NEVER REPRODUCE] AA target could not be released
delevero replied to caponi's topic in Bugs and Problems
try to check that your joystick settings wasent effected by the latest update. It have happened several times that buttons unbind so they have to be assigned again. -
I did not read though all the pages of comments... just wanted to say there is an ILS mod for the f18c that allow you to land via ILS at airports. I only tested it on the persian map in the international airport but it worked perfect. I think i found the map here on the forum somewhere.. ( note make a backup of the file you ahve to replace.. and be aware everytime there is a new update for the f18c you need to install the file again... and be aware if you play online on servers that verify game files then it might be an issue ( but not 100% sure about that ))

Personaly I have had very few issues with windows 10 during the years. ( except for the first 5 month when it was released ). I use my computer everyday for gaming/internet and so on for many houres, and its pretty much rock solid.. By the way windows 7 is now outdated and a security risk since they no longer release updates for it/hotfixes.. But windows 7 was a very nice operating system. -tip..: if you need a windows 10 key, then you can online buy a cheap windows 10 64bit for for like 7 usd, compared to fysical stores that want like 150usd. Be very aware if the key is locked to work in your Region of the world... ( example work in europe or usa, or asia ect ) And be aware if its an OEM key ( it can only be used on 1 computer locked ot your hardware) or if its a key you can install on 1 computer again and again. But anyway 7 usd for a key is cheap so i guess you survive ;-) https://www.allkeyshop.com/blog/buy-windows-10-home-cd-key-compare-prices/ Regarding DCS that is the only game that CTD for me, and its kind of rare. I play in VR, and if i leave a server and return to it then sometimes it can crash, or the game crash in the main menu. But it rare it happen. Regarding the +100 other games i have then it cant remember when i had a CTD last time. So its very long ago. In my humble oppition its not good to Upgrade directly from windows 7 64 bit to windows 10 64 bit via the upgrade option. The very best will be to make a 100% fresh install of windows formatting your computer and installing everything new. NOTE!!!!!! remember to unregister your dcs keys before you format your computer.... and be prepared to download the +60gb DCS game again.

How to use the com in vr... you press the same button and you turn your head right and look up and you see the radio menu. I recommend to assign a button to your joystick so you can activate either radio 1 or radio 2.. if you just play singleplayer radio 1 is properbly enough.. TIP.. if you press esc and go into the f18c hornet keyboard configuration.. then instead of selecting a topic in the drop down menu then click it and you can search for words.. example write radio or comm and my reply to the top post but other people answer first before i finish writing it. ------------- when you are parked in the airport, then press the radio key ( my key is ' ) ( its a key left of the enter key ) and you see a text pop down menu in the top right corner. Select to talk with the ground crew, an select rearm/refuel Some planes in dcs you can refuel/rearm while the engine is running, while other you have to turn off the engine. ( example the less advanced planes from flaming cliffs such as f15 need engines turned off ) The f18c you can rearm/refuel with engine running. Note..: dcs have a simple radio and an advanced radio feature. Meaning, that in simple radio when you press the radio button and example press F2 then it will automatic change the radio frq to that channel. While on "advanced radio" you have to tune the radio your self. It is the mission builder via. the editor who chooses wich radio system that is active. I think as standard the easy radio system is active.

The standard inf m16 soldier on west side can laser mark targets. ( i use him in my own test mission for the f18c maveric missile and the maveric can find his laser marker without any issues ). I presume the same goes for the russian std. infantry man. But yes would be nice with more infantry by the way. example west do not have any AT infantry. And many of the nations do not have Infantry at all

I dont think it was to hot for the a10c since it was not part of the first wave that soften up the defences by taking out known dangerous sam sites. For that job they used stealth bombers or cruise missiles. In second wave it was CAP and sead planes and some bombing runs form up high that all soften up things. And then in third wave it was the a10c and so on. ( take my info with a gram of salt ) What im saying is, the a10c can ofcourse operate low and fly in and shoot something.. But any army/airforce ect. work in such a way they have a tool for every job. meaning that they properbly would not send in the a10c alone without it having friends to protect it, and they use the best tool for the job. The a10 have its strenght and other planes have theirs. And also pilots know not to fight a battle they cannot win. Example the a10 vs an advanced sam site that can track and shoot at low flying targets from far away is a treat you should stay away from. The a10s longest range weapon is the maveric and it can maybe fly 6-8nm, but the enemy can fire 50nm well that is not a fun fight. Also in reality a sam site is not "alone".. enemy air defence sites is like the layers of an onion... the long distance sam shoot first, then the medium range, and then finaly the AA guns and low range missiles. So before the a10c can get to the big sam site it have to go though all the other defences first.. well that is really bad odds for the a10c even if it fly low ;-) So the a10c first fly in once the large sam site is down, and maybe also the medium if they can find them. But in the end there are no gurantee, in war enemy sometimes just popup without warning.. but then low flying might help you to get away... distance is safety. Example if the a10c goes in on a mission to kill tank colum, then there would be CAP planes in the air to protect the airspace form enemy planes that the a10c really cant fight against. And there would also be SEAD flight ready to kill new sam sites that turn on their radar or get spotted.

A friend of mine have a 2080ti but what im about to tell you now have nothing to do with dcs but his card in general. - his old card was a 1080ti card. Anyway he bought the card and install it and it could run games but had issues with it performing worse than his 1080ti card. He went to the store where he bought it since he thought it was defective.. After a short test it turned out the 2080ti worked perfect. He then went home and tried uninstalling/updating drivers ect ect.. But in the end he found out that the problem was his PSU ( power supply) one of the cables where a little defective, and also the psu was old. After he installed a new cable the card worked with 100% performance, insted of just running with 65% performance. He did by the way buy a new psu since it was an old one. Anyway, my tip.. try to change your cable from the power supply to your graphics card.. ( maybe change both cables ). if that doesnt help then maybe you should consider a new PSU/power supply.. but i will not gurantee this is the problem just saying maybe ;-). BUt if this is the case then the 2080ti should run poorly in other "demanding " games as well.. if its only dcs then hmmmm dont know

just use 1 infantry man, he can lase for you. ( in my example the inf man is to close to the target, maybe move him a bit away so his gun is out of range of the enemy tank ). PS.. for me jtac work 100% pps.. mission attached.. named test-lgb. Dont get fooled by the name, i was editing bombs and testing LGB bombs but they would not track the laser... But you can just select Maverics instead.. just load mission in editor and change the loadout. Target is on the X shaped airport in front of you, and jtac might first reply you after 1-2 minutes since you start a bit off the coast. no need to tune the radio, even if the text is "black" just select it and it auto tune. test-lgb.miz

Example if stennis is saling in a 100 degree heading. Then you have to -9 = you have to land in a 91 degree angle. :)

[PLANNED] Option for JHMS display for both eyes in VR
delevero replied to Silversmith's topic in Wish List
My guess is that it wont last long before a mod will be avaliable so people can choose what eye to use, or maybe even on both eyes. I dident try the JHCMS much, but in vr i could imagine it might be more pleasant in the long term to use both eyes. but lets see :) -
JHMCS question - AIM-9M - slewing radar - A-to-A
delevero replied to Banzaiib's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
might also be that when he say you can try it out next week that he where refering to the steam version or the "official" open beta patch that normaly is first released 7 days after the "pre testing patch" that many people uses. ( dont know what its called ). So maybe it will come wednesday or friday this week :) -
The logbook for the F18c have been kind of bugged, reset a few times, and i have formated my computer and such things and say 20 houres. ( that is very wrong in my case ). But i guess 100houres in the f18c and most flights where in multiplayer.

regarding damage to the plane if you disable the G-limiter and go above the limits. Well i dont think its implemented yet in the game, since i never had any damage to my plane due to the g-limiter all though i only use the g-limiter in A/A combat. And i think in real life once a pilot uses this feature and goes above a g-limit then its not like the wings fall off. Actual it would be the best way to design a plane that the plane protect it self for extreeme user input to prevent damage. When we speak about damage from the g-limiter and high G forces i would imagine that the service crew now need to do some extended inspections of the wings/pylons/structure integrity for damage and such once they get back to the ship. That is why the pilots in peace time should not go above a max peacetime g-limit simply to avoid the extended service inspection or even worse reduction of the life time of the plane due to "stress/cracks" ect ect.. its expensive planes and a new wing is very expensive ect. Also keep in mind there is a difference inbetween peace time and war time servicing of things in the army/airforce/navy.. In war there are less "high" service standards than in peace time. ( example helicopter A in peace time need extended service every 50 houres. In peace time the helicopter are grounded until the service have been done and it wont fly.. In wartime they might just command the heli in the air anyway or extend service to 60-70 houres instead and even in some cases with systems not working 100%.). ect ect. With other words lower standards.

I just wanted to add, that the past 2 updates have resulted in some joystick keys being used 2-3 times in the hornet making them react against each other. Example after the update your trigger button was assigned to 2 buttons instead of just one. So i recommned that you go though all of your assigned joystick/trust/rudder commands and make sure non of them have 2 joystick buttons/axis connected to the same function. My guess is that one of your controls are making the problem for you and sending the wrong signal and that is turn off your autopilot or is responsible for it not working. check the joystick buttons assigned to this button... The A key named = autopilot nose wheel stearing (disengage ) paddle You only need 1 joystick button for this feature.. ALso check that your trust axis or rudder axis is not assigned to this "button" either. if they are, then that is properbly you problem. It could be everytime you move the rudder og trust your auto pilot turn off..

How do I contact and receive messages from my wingman?
delevero replied to SPOKEY's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I found this info via search ( maybe the info is old ) to command wingman with easy comms I must hit the UHF mic switch - then wing/flight commands are white text and he obeys So try and find the key for UHF mic keyboard command and try again ;-) -
At least i had hoped the fixed the radar so it does not get stuck all the time. But i had also hoped for something new, even an "easy to make" gpu-12 that jtac and example the a10 could lase for the hornet.. ( like in the mirage2000). But unfortunatly nothing. So i really hope they pull something "big" out of the hat next week, there havent been much the last 3-4 weeks.

Just wanted to say that i have the pimax 4k vr headset. It also happen to me that I can play for example 40 minutes - 2houres and then all of a sudden i get the VR loading screen og that I kind of have a blackout/loading screen for 2-5 seconds. Some times this only take 2-5 seconds, other times it take like 10 minutes before i get my ordinary fps back. I notised that it happen more often in missions with many scripts, and especially when a player die and respawn in the mirage 2000. So in case you want to troubleshoot your self, then maybe think about when your lag happen, what happened in the mission, did anyone in Multiplayer spawn or select another plane ? Also i have a 1080gtx card and run with like 35 fps. ( i guess that is 30-35fps pr eye, since my game run perfect except for the lag spikes.... so that is arround 60 fps i by the way think are hardware locked for my VR headset. ). I also tried with a 1080ti card, and i only had 2 fps more than with my 1080gtx card. So that tell me its a hardware limit. ( by the way my vr headset do not require 90fps to show vr and i have 0 motion sickness. the pimax 4k i would say is about double as good as ocolus and vive regarding image quality, and in early 2019 the pimax 8k and 5k+ will be avaliable.) I also notised that if someone host a multiplayer and i play in VR and the uses internet speed is kind of slow or is a tiny bit unstable then i also have the issue sometimes. In singleplayer i cant remember i had any fps lag or anything playing in vr. By the way i notised that my game run more smooth when i have a vr average fps of more than 30... typical when im airborn it have like 35-40fps pr eye... and in non vr i have like 120+ fps. The think that really kill vr fps, are the view distance, and the detail of the forest near you.. Also turn off "vsync". I have a ryzen 1800x ( 8 cores 16 treats, 16gb ddr 4 ram, 1080gtx, 3xssd windows 10 64bit ) and pimax 4k vr headset. Anyway, try to notise what happen when your game get lagspikes and what happen.

I personaly have no problems with ICLS in any weather or time of day. As the use above say, it could be becourse the carrier reach a waypoint and then turn off the ICLS. In the editor you should NOT activate the ICLS in the waypoint advanced settings... But about 2-3 buttons to the right of it... it look like a butterly icon. The difference trning on ICLS in a waypoint is that what ever advanced settings you make only count until the next waypoint, and then you have to set it up again. But if you use the icon that look a bit like a butterly instead then the settings you make are "forever". ;-) In this old video from the editor, you can see the icon at this excact time 15.52 and in the right side in the middle there are 3 small icons... it is icon 2 that look a little like a butterfly that you need to use for ICLS and other settings that need to be turned on "forever".

Tip..: in case your cannot remove the wheel blocks, then release the handbrake and add power and then cut your power to 0.. This will move the wheels a tiny bit and the plane will become unstuck. If not then restart mission.. ( its a rare bug have happen to me 1 time out of like 150 flights ). Regarding not being able to talk to the crew and get rearmed.. there can be a few reasons.. 1). In some planes you need to turn off the engines and they also sometimes need to be 100% turned off and not spinning anymore before you can rearm. 2). You are not playing with easy communication or radio assist ( this depend how the mission was made ) But typical people use the wrong radio frq. In the hornet you need to start 1 of the engines ( right engine ) to be able to turn on the radio... You need to talk on com 1 frq 127.500 3). im not sure, but it could be that the instant mission is made in such a way that the aircraft carrier have 0 weapons and extra fuel and you only can use what is preloaded.. ( a guess ). However regarding ground crew you shouldent need to tune any radio to talk to them.. and as you know as long as they say something they can hear you. ;-) When you ask to refuel/rearm with your hornet turned off, then try to move your trust joystick forward and back to 0 to see if that solve the problem.

you guys have been busy  But remember that a kill is NOT the only way to have a successfull mission. - Remember that if you stop the enemy from reaching his target, then that is also a mission success, no matter if he die or turn arround and fly home again. :)
