Because DCS only uses 2 cores and FSX, AFAIK, up to 4 cores. You won't get much of a perfomance increase with that core in DCS (and many other games) as long as it is not a real multithreaded application. The only thing perhaps in new i5 and i7 is the auto-overclocking of cores in use when others are inactive. This trend of increasing the number of cores it's like the apocalypse for programmers, I think XD

Hi! Even with low latency servers (like 100ms) and good lines without much packet loss there is a lot of "warping" going on (by warping I mean strange displacements, not induced by the pilot but by the network). To supress almost all warps I have to play with 30-40ms latency. Even that, when helis are very low, seem like warping increase. I remember from my days in il2 sturmovik that I could play even with 200ms without almost any warps. I remember reading a lot time ago that the problem was about code in the client and/or server to interpolate and/or extrapolate player positions, etc. to minimize those warps during network bad conditions. Am I right? Anything on the pipeline about this? Thanks in advance.

No problems. Only during the installation, Starforce driver won't be enabled because the version it is installing is not compatible with windows 7. Only thing to do is wait for installation to finish and download and install Starforce update: http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvup.zip

Try the reinstallation, remember to uninstall, delete folder and install (not in /program files).

Yes it seems you pay to maintain the servers that make run games like Crysis at full graphics and high fps in your pos computer. You just recieve a interactive video, but the game is executed in the "cloud" server.

I see there is an horizontal slider in that control page. What is at the right of "mouse"? do you have more joysticks connected? Also, It's like your installation might be messed up. Try to uninstall, delete the complete folder and install again. No need to reactivate. Also, don't install it in /program files.

That's cool, the problem I see are latency, if this service doesen't have a server near my house, lag won't be good.

No triggers at all have activated in the first mission (DOW_mission_00) while playing in alpha group (not even triggers that simply show text about the campaign). Also seems like some triggers lack a rule (triggers for mission stalemante/filure/succes) and I can't see any trigger related to the landing zones, also some goals seem to lack a rule. Anyway thanks for the campaign!

Ingame throttle (yellow levers) is not ingame collective, watch out about this, those are two different controls. You need to setup collective to the saitek throttle axis. Ingame throttle (the yellow ones) are not usually mapped to the joystick. BTW you don't need to save profile, you just need to click ok. Save profile is used for export or backup profile.

It helps with Vista/7, don't know in XP. Also help doing it as an administrator.

I don't know why you can't to touch your system, but from time to time, Windows XP needed to be reinstalled, it "degraded" with time. Might be a solution, but perhaps something is being overlooked. The fact that LockOn doesen't work if you don't execute it with W95 compatibility is where I would start looking for solutions. Try to change to windowed mode instead of full screen, and if works start from there, changing nvidia driver options (no AA for example), etc. until everything works well, even in full screen.

ok forget about that .cpl file, I think it's just a control panel leftover or something. It shouldn't affect.

Using win95 compatibility is really weird. In any way, there seems to be some kind of problem with directx: "DirectX Files Tab: The file directx.cpl is a debug version, which will run slower than the retail version." "directx.cpl: 5.03.0000.0900 English Final Debug 8/18/2003 04:10:24 122880 bytes (problem)" You might want to download the whole directx package from Microsoft website and reinstall it.

Try to de-select "adaptative" from the multi-sample AA. Same problem happened to this guy with DCS:Ka-50 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=50380&page=2

I've never needed to unblock anything related to drivers nor any kind of software. I really think, everybody looses some perfomance with LO going from XP to Vista/7.

Everything seems allright. Perhaps you could try to unplug saitek joy and rudder and test. BTW, are you using windows default drivers for those or latest saitek drivers?
