  1. I have had a good search for a model the 6-cell LY-60N SAM launcher without much success, I can put the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow in its place.
  2. Better than flying into the sea!!
  3. The Core Game Sea-Cats lua's are horrendous, to the point they actually are innefective, have a shocking launch pattern, it would maybe be better to use another surface to air missile code, but have it less effective than say the SM.2's I actually forgot that I revamped the Type 21 recently, I've got that many personal projects on the go. I'm trying to trace a decent model of the HQ-6 missile tubes... not so easy, they look like the Sea Sparrow launchers, so might have to use those ...
  4. Nah, that's the PNS Babur (D-182), the former HMS Amazon
  5. Both should be possible, as I have models for the Harpoon's and also for the Phalanx, I will look into my goodie box and see what I have
  6. As there has been an interest for a Type 21 frigate, I actually bought one from artstation a couple of years ago... I may as wll fix it up to be released then... I'm sure my coding genious who helped me with the Type 42 @Beldinwill be able to bring her to the Seas soon.. (not 2 weeks soon!!!) There's textures for every RN Type 21 as well
  7. I have a Type 21... I bought the model a couple of years ago from artstation... I will start a new thread so as not to clutter up the admirals releases
  8. Nah, not at all, but read back through the past 16 pages, there's a lot of disrespect aimed towards ED, you may see it as constructive crticism, others may see it as disrespect, word play. If ED say they can do this, why not let them prove it, if the module crashes and burns, and sales are less than projected, then 100% they need to take it on the chin. There's some here who have written this module off, even before a screenshot has been released... I'm willing to bet however, this is going to prove to be a very popular module... I will happily eat my words if it's not, and a pile of dogshyt. You do understand saracsm right?
  9. You did... "To those for whom realism matters, this signals a shift away from the reason they play in the first place. This explains the passion, and they (we) have a right to express our concerns. Some may think it's whiny, and others may think those who don't value realism are just fanboys, air quakers, whatever. But in the end we have to remember that we have to respect the reasons others play, even if it doesn't align with our own" And this cuts both ways, people have to respect the way ED does their business, and the roads they take to achieve this...
  10. Doesn't respecting the decision ED have made to go down this road not work in the same way though? Why not wait and see what gets produced, rather than bash it on day one of it going public ? Believe me, if I thought a product wasn't good, I'd say so, the Iraq map overlall for example is pretty good, but having spent 18 years there from 2004-2022, I was very dissapointed at how Baghdad, where I spent a lot of time wasn't that accurate, apart from some key locations, but that hasn't stopped me from using it, as I'm sure it will get better over time.. I'm always willing to give ED the benefit of the doubt, and this module is no different.
  11. DCS community is without a shadow of a doubt the most toxic one I've encountered in my 62 years alive... You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.. Ragging on word play seems to be a favourite passtime here.. I just don't get it, if you're upset fine, but for the love of God, why not wait and see what DCS can do first... Never in my life have I read so much toxic nagativity over soemthing that hasn't even been made yet...
  12. LOL, so you're basically pissed off about a module you don't intend to buy... yeah sums up the DCS community rather well..
  13. And you don't need to buy it.. imagine that, free will is an amazing thing.
  14. I'm sure the name of the forum heading might have given that away.
  15. Your argument like the crew chief's is very valid, but why not wait until the product is actually available and then criticise it, if ED believe thay can bring this to the table, why not support and commend their efforts ?
  16. That free mod is a shell slapped on top of another module, and has I believe an SFM... I'm waiting on this module to see what they can pull off... and if those testers who will inevitably fly it say it's fun, then I will consider buying it... That's why we're all here... fun pilots or serious pilots alike...
  17. You're a real Military pilot, thank you for your service, so why do you fly in DCS? Many people don't use VR, so the sensation of "being inside the aircraft" just isn't there, it's IMPOSSIBLE to replicate on flat screens.... so why bother making a game that can't do that to begin with? Seems a waste of money right? For those of us that do have VR (recent convert) that sensation of being immersed is there, and mind blowing.....but, you don't get the full motion feeling of winds and turbulance, or the movement over ground when taxing, it's impossible to replicate......again, why bother making a game that can't replicate those sensations to begin with ? Seems a waste of money right? Because it's for entertainment purposes only... and ED, and other flight simulations companies customers are the general public, and games are developed for entertainment purposes as there's a market for it... DCS isn't made for that 5% of hardcore simmers who have their Virtual cockpits in their garages, and wear helmets and flights suits, have $10,000 Motion platforms, have their friends call them by their fighter jock call signs and have cool bumper stickers, it's made for the 95% who just want to go out there and have some fun, fly around cool locations, shoot some shyt down, and then go and put the kids to bed... Some people are taking this waaaaaay too serious.
  18. I might also point out, there isn't a single simulation/game on the market that can truly replicate actual real combat, not one.. and that includes all those FPS style games.
  19. I know I would never get within 10 ' of a real F35, and never in a month of sundays be able to master the entire aviation suite, the F35 isn't my cup of tea, I've never flown a real harrier either, or a real F15E, or any DCS aircraft, but they allow me to feel what's possible on my PC, is it going to be 100% accurate, only a real F35 pilot would be able to make a comparison, I for one am willing to wait and see what DCS produces, if the feed back is good, and the armchair fighter jocks enjoy it, then I might buy it... I fly for fun, it's a hobby, it's not a game I lose sleep over because the rivet count is off, or the Ground radar isn't 100% like the real deal..
  20. Does anyone have a baily bridge unit so we can make a bridge over the river of tears that are flowing in this thread. ED should feel honoured there's so many real F35 pilots in here who can point them in the right direction.
  21. Oh yeah, the spinal cord compression really hurts, I used to be 6' 5" but due to the number of DCS world ejections I've had, I'm down to 5'8" my doctors says I have to find a much less stressfull hobby!!! Too many flight hours brother, your piss pack will be too full
  22. 95% of the community fly for fun, the 5% hardcore, flight suit and helmets and full simpit crew are a minority, and even then, with $$$$$$$$ worth of rig, and gear, it's never ever going to be like flying the real thing.. fidelity shcmidelity, I fly for fun...you should try that too...
  23. There isn't a sim out there anywhere in the world that truly represents realism, name one sim that if you fly into an object at 120MPH you actually die? Nme one sime where you have to do a pre flight walkaround, and remove all RBF tags... ther isn't one, that's realism. DCS is a game, it's not a substitute for the real thing, what it allows is for people who would never ever become real fighter pilots an alternate world in which they are pilots for however long thay can sit down for... why don't you support others being virtual pilots?
  24. You mean like VSN ? There's not many modders out there that have fully detailed/clickable cockpits, that look and feel balanced and accurate, so I'm not buying what you said. Slapping lipstick on a pig doesn't change the fact it's still a pig.. If you don't like the concept, why not create a module that people want, I mean, you make it sound easy as pie... I can't wait to see what you will release, I'm excited already, as I feel your expertise would produce something amazing..
