  1. When can we expect to have the textures template?
  2. Yeah, on a very outdated graphics engine..
  3. 90% of the 3rd party developers have delivered, including Razbam, and I don't understand this concept of using the word "promise" nowhere in anyones terms and conditions or EULA uses the word "promise" it's a word used by consumers to feel they're entitled. ED roadmap for 2024 and their 1st newsletter for 2024 doesn't promise anything, it states that the year looks promising, nowhere have they ever said " we promise that you will have X, Y or Z" Love or hate them, ED have delivered according to their January newsletter. Every 3rd party developer has similar roadmaps, buy not buying their products you're not hurting ED, you're hurting the developer, if sales are down, and overheads are up, then cost cutting starts to take place, and manpower is one of the first areas to be reduced... you reduce the manpower, then the roadmap time frame gets longer. Then the consumer bitches and moans about products not nearing completion. If you're wanting to sing HB's praises, then where's the A6E? Showcased 2 years ago, their carrier still doesn't have rotating props, has issues with one of it's cats being underpowered..the last 2 are simple lua edits and 3d model edits that would take 30 mins tops to fix... The people that want to see ED crash and burn fail to see that there's nothing out there that comes remotely close to what DCS world offers.. prove me wrong.
  4. And yet nothing "official" from Razbam CEO or legal team, since when was Smiley appointed to be the Razbam spokesperson?
  5. That's correct, just like a few other modules. You might not like or agree with the answer you got, but the fact really is you have to leaen to create missions if you want to use the module. You can open any F18 quick mission in the editor, change the Lot 20 into the F/A18E/F and save it as a different name.
  6. That's not how things wotk at all when the issues are at corporate level, and it's obvious whom they're allegedly wanting to be gone, personally, I think spreading such idle chit chat without a shred of evidence to back the claim up that this is what Razbam want in order to return to DCS is incredibly foolish, as ED corporate can easily double down... and this saga will drag on well into 2025, and maybe beyond. Razbams devs who are choppsing off need to shut their mouthes, ED doesn't need Razbam, but Razbam need ED..
  7. Name one 3rd party that has decided to stop updating their products in solidarity with Razbam, and their current predicament Name one 3rd party that has decided to stop development of their product in solidarity of Razbam. Despite private conversations between RB and another 3rd party developer, that were deliberately released by disgruntled razbam devs in order to stoke the flames, in which that 3rd party distanced themselves with the situation between RB and ED, they went to to succesfully release one of the best Modules ever to have graced the skies, where exactly is this erosion of confidence between 3rd party developers and Eagle Dynamics ? What methodology are you applying this erosion of confidence on ? Are you a stakeholder in every single 3rd party developer for DCS, or are you simply basing it off your own personal feelings that made you stop playing and enjoying DCS? Cutting off ones nose to spite their face seldom reaps rewards. The way I see this is there's main 3 factions present. 1. The ED loyalists, who continue to buy into the game they love and enjoy and continue flying their favourite modules 2. The Razbam loyalists, who see ED as the great satan, and can't wait to see ED crash and burn, and cannot wait for a competitor to push ED off the top spot, and have more or less stopped playing, despite every single RB module still functions, who tend to follow Reddit rather than ED forums 3. The flight sim enusiasts, who don't care about the personal issues, ED or Razbam as all the modules they bought are still working, and they're having a blast. You're right about one thing, the level of toxicity that I've seen, sadly mostly coming from one faction, though not completley isolated to them is staggering.. and saddens me, but not to the point where I feel it's enough to stop me enjoying a hobby that has spanned over 40 years.
  8. Considering ALL the Razbam modules are still as functional as they were when this situation went public, then it's 100% a personal choice.. "The Razbam situation is the sole reason I stopped playing" .... sounds like a personal choice to me
  9. Thinks they know...
  10. Which is the same as every other software producing company out there, it's called keeping your business interests going. Why should Eagle Dynamics be any different ? They are not in business to cater to your personal qulams, they are in business to maintain /increase their profit margins, and I hate to say this, but their business model doesn't revolve around Razbam, sure, that situation doesn't help garner public opinion, but the most significant fact here is that Razbam needs Eagle Dynamics more than what Eagle Dynamics needs Razbam, irrespective of what we, the general public/consumers may personally feel about this. Not every consumer owns all the RB products, and what's represented in these forums is a small percentage of the overall player database, a great deal have kept on purchasing and supporting Eagle Dynamics, there's also no other alternative out there that comes remotely close to what ED has achieved, and it will be years before its nearest competitor gets close to what ED offers. Irrespective of what camp you sit, look back on the 1st newsletter of 2024, and their roadmap, as it seems they've (ED) pretty much delivered on everything they set out to achieve, and had this distateful episode between RB and ED not happened, 95% of the consumers would be more or less satisfied with 2024. They've achieved their business KPI's. I am unhappy about the current situation as a long term Flight simmer, right back from the early Flanker days, but rather than a glass half empty kind of guy, I'm still flying the F15E on a regular basis, it still works at least on my end the same as it did on day 1, and the Harrier is still super fun to fly, I still get a lot of satisfaction out of sitting in that Mudhen cockpit in VR, looking around and feeling immersed, and yeah it's a pain to not have the updates that were on the the RB roadmap, but it's not stopped the fun.
  11. Oh but they do, and constantly bang on about "promises" made by ED and from 3rd part devs.. Not once have I ever read that ED will promise anything, whether it be a weapons platform, or a radar update.. I constantly read on YouTube video comments that "ED promised X,Y and Z" but when challenged to post a link to those promises they can't....because there's never been such promises. Take a look at ED's first newsletter of 2024, it does use the word promise, but it's the context of how it was written... "This year promises to be an exciting one", or words to those effects..and then goes on to discuss all the up and coming modules, and work, in other words the 2024 roadmap, and if you look at it, they've pretty much delivered everything they were aiming for, from a business perspective, they've achieved what they've set out to do. However, the rabid ED haters out there, and there's plenty, keep saying ED promised this, ED promised that, they're no good, they can't deliver blah blah blah. Then there is this nonesense "No question ED took a big hit from this, but all 3rd parties are also burnt with the ensuing distrust " And you know this because you've presonally spoken to all of their CEO's and Business managers to come to this conclusion?
  12. NOBODY wants to see modules abandoned, irrespective of the developers. Is there a dislike towards Razbam, yeah mostly from those familiar with their abandoned products in FSX... can you blame them?? There's equally a dislike towards ED, some justified, a lot not, if ED dissapeared, there's ZERO alternative out there that comes remotely close to what DCS offers. If Razbam dissapeared, it's move along, nothing to see here... Pesonally, I love my F15E and Harrier, they're good modules, as is the South Atlantic map..
  13. Ask Razbams and ED's lawyers for a copy because it does exist, I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige divulging legal contractual matters to some random nobody on an internet forum..
  14. A "deal" outside of contractual obligations and stipulations had the issue of the breach of contract not arisen? I'd like to see proof of this "deal" otherwise its hearsay..
  15. Nobody outside of the legal parties involved knows at what stage things are, there may well have been progression, and there may well have been setbacks, the realists here knew this was never ever going to be a quick fix, and it hasn't even reached a courtroom yet.. But lets see where we really are shall we? The F15E which is the main module of concern for 90% of consumers still works as it did day 1 of release.. so are we really nowhere? The only thing affected is the roadmap. Personally I think ED should not update modules as regular as they do, but go for a singular annual update, which gives them way more time to put it all together... I also think that ending early access needs to be looked at, and release in a more complete stage.
  16. They have. I think you're view of being public, and mine may differ, when I refer to things being made public, I mean that companies have directly made statements to the general public. I believe you're looking in a broader context, in that whats now in the public domain, not necessarily approved by the main parties. The problem with leaked documents/messages/emails etc is that real way of telling if they're genuine or not, I can photoshop a letter to me from Donald Trump to say what a good, no wonderful, no magnificant man I am, I could convince some people it's genuine, after all, me and the Donald go way back, I played gold on one of his courses, so we're best buddies.. Now, the burden of proof always lies in the accuser, and all the evidence presented has to be verified, cross checked, and all the t's crossed and the i's dotted in order to make a compelling case/argument. All of this legal stuff gets dealt with at boardroom level 99% of the time, rarely are factory/floor level workers involved, even to the extent most would not have been aware there was an issue. They would become aware if their management puts out a pubilc statement.. There's no doubt that this shytshow is messy, and stinks, but when both CEO's have put out public statements to say they're working on a resolution that's in best parties interests, that's pretty positive, but when a very bitter and disgruntled 3rd party sub contractors starts leaking sensitive material and information, then the trust is gone, and there's never going to be a mutually favourable outcome. LIke I said, when both CEO's seemed to be on the same page a path, it was encouraging, but those 3rd party devs want blood, they're going scorched earth in the hope the court of public opinion will favour them.....it will in some quarters, in most cases, it never ends well for them, I get their grievances, I totally do, I have known blokes to have not been paid for 4 months, because their CEO withheld their salaries because a client was late in payments, they actually withheld payment due to breaches in the contract, and it was stupid stuff too, and they were all on 5 figure monthly sums, and they also made threats to their employee, and to the clients directly, not only did they lose their well earned money, they lost their jobs, and were blacklisted. The business world is ruthless, especially at corporate levels. I wouldn't expect ED to behave any differently when they believe there's been a breach of contract.
  17. Again, why would it be public? The whole shytshow unfolded when RB went public, and then the alleged IP abuse counterclaim was made public by ED to counter what RB announced, at this point ED went silent based off legal advice, and to be fair, pretty much so did RB corporate, it was their 3rd party Dev's who have been systematically leaking confidential documents, with the intention to garner public support, which to a degree did exactly that, but it's also divided the community, which in turn has turned into levels of toxicity that's reminded me of why I left the ArmA scene. The situation has been poorly handled (from a consumers persective) right from the get go by ALL parties concerned.
  18. Why would it? It's not a common practice for companies invloved in contractual disputes to go public Sure there's the reddit platform where it's selective snippets of leaked information are available, where again one side has said it hasn't come from them, and well, it's well known that several RB Devs have been providing selective private conversations, with a clear intent to stir up emotions, a clear case of "schadenfreude" . One party has kept to their narrative, and said very few words, the other, albeit it not from their corporate team, constantly throw gasoline on the flames. As much as I feel for them having not been paid by their employer, RB, their public comments are not helping their situation. The suggestion that paying RB half of what they're owed to semi resolve this could have been a decent thing to consider had both parties kept the dirty laundry out of the public. The behaviour of their devs more or less would have ended that option, there's no winners in this situation, ED, RB and their consumers have lost out.. Even if ED and RB resolve the situation, those devs have burned their bridges publicly, so who's going to pick up the reigns for the F15E, which is everyone main concern?
  19. Yeah, clearly you don't have a business to run.. and speculating and adding nothing of value either.
  20. Indeed, RB devs are their own worst enemy, and definately not helping their CEO's situation one iota. Loose lips sink ships, and less said soonest mended spring to mind..
  21. I doubt that ED would aquire/require the source code unless the situation deteriorated that the contract between RB and ED was absolved, and the parties went their seperate ways. However as the legalities are still ongoing, with the aim of a resolution that put both parties back on the same path, and developlment of all RB modules, to include the F15E, then there's no requirement for ED to obtain the code, as then they could quite easily tell RB .. to go forth and muliply as they're not needed anymore, which would be a massive dick move by ED if they did that.
  22. HMS Gloucester in rough seas. Points to note, HMS Gloucester's funnel badge was an actual shield shape, but the 3 other ships in this class had a round funnel badge, also HMS Edinburgh had hers mounted on the funnel, and not on the gantries like her sister ships, but for simplicity all are the same shape and location.... I'm away to Thailand on vacation next week, so looking at pushing this out when I return, she's definately going to be released in 2024.
  23. HMS York in bad weather... think I'm almost done with this Destroyer, messed around with the SeaDarts, if I use the default, they hit nothing and detonate 3-5NM from the ship. Using Beldin's code which is basically the SMR2 with the seadart model, it's deadly.. Now......it's a big mod due to textures (1.5GB) so the ED file location isn't going to cut it, so will need to find a decent file hosting site, that's not going to cause any issues. There was only 4 batch 42's for the Royal Navy, all represented here. HMS Edinburgh HMS York HMS Manchester HMS Gloucester
  24. A couple of cosmetic touches.. (funnel crest) and ships names plaques
