Hi, I noticed in the planned load out thread that laser guided bombs would be available in Phase2 however you've already released a video for it, so does that mean that it is available in the Phase1 EA launch? Also mentioned from Phase2 is the Mavericks, are they remaining as planned for Phase2?

There's still more videos to come before launch though?

Operation: Blue Flag - Official Tour (Sep 2019)
JamesRothwell replied to xcom's topic in Tournaments & Events
Very interesting post (I didn't want to quote the entire post in my reply though), personally I find that the Phoenix is a good missile to get the Hornets to go defensive and try and go for a closer kill with a Sparrow or SW, rarely does a Phoenix actually connect as they can be defeated quite easily. Occasionally get lucky though especially if fired TWS at a couple of guys in formation (managed to plink a couple of Harriers out of the sky the other day like that!) It would be a nightmare if both sides shared the same airframe, already ID'ing targets is difficult. I'm terrified of firing on a friendly and spotting a Tomcat and then having to figure out if it's a friend or foe will not be nice. I find Red seems to have a numbers advantage, there is also more flying on red than blue (currently 6 red to 2 blue for example), so it's not the airframes that make it unbalanced just the number of players. I just think having the F16 on Blue might draw more players to Blue and balance out the numbers on each side a little bit. Obviously it won't work if loads of Hornet guys abandon it and go for the Viper. It's interesting to discuss though. I'm sure whatever the admins do with the server it will be great, currently it's my favorite pvp server. -
Looking forward to the next installment. It seems like the module is quite far along, but then again I really know nothing about the development process. I feel like we're probably less than a month away from EA release, I know the videos you show that you are showing only areas that are stable and usable so there's way more to be done that we don't know about. Also side note, anyone else very tempted to get VR just because of how awesome it must look and feel with this bubble canopy and detailed cockpit?

Operation: Blue Flag - Official Tour (Sep 2019)

Then blue will have F14,Hornet, Su27 together, that's quite a powerful combination. I think a lot of players would migrate sides in order to keep flying their favorite airframe. -
Operation: Blue Flag - Official Tour (Sep 2019)

Yes I've always flown from the Iranian side in my sporadic and brief times on this server and never found the odds to be stacked like this before. Quite proudly I did manage to get 5 kills last night but it's difficult, they're coming at you from all angles and the SA abilities of the Hornet make it hard to beat. I'm really hoping the upcoming F16 goes onto the Blue side and gives us an edge and helps balance things out. -
Well whatever you can push out next I am looking forward to watching, but cold start being nearly ready for EA sounds promising and gives me hope that the F16 isn't that far away from being accessible.

Just for my own curiosity I'd be interested to add a MiG19 to that just to see.

What's next, Mavericks perhaps?

I didn't think "coming soon" meant coming that soon. New video dropped chaps.

It's been a week I think since last video? T R I G G E R E D

How long has the F-16 been under development?

Interesting thread, I would like to know more about the module creation and development process. How much works goes into each module and how the data is collected etc. -
Another Viper video tonight! I'll be watching the premiere on YouTube hopefully.
-
I used it yesterday and was working fine after I replaced the mod file again.

There is lots to do with the Tomcat, fit the LANTIRN and help out some ground units with a precision strike on some bunkers or perhaps tanks. Help with a SEAD mission by flying towards the enemy SAM site and drop some TALDs (once ED fix it) in their direction. Try some long range ship defense with the Phoenix missiles, keeping the enemy at bay away from the precious ships. I find that the Tomcat in SP is pretty boring, but in MP especially with a real RIO it's an amazing experience. It certainly has a place on the battlefield, especially if you team up with other people with different aircraft, go along with a couple of Hornets and protect them from any enemy aircraft while they use the TPOD and take out some ground targets etc.

Yeah, was happy to see that this morning! I think they've got a lot of work still to do in the background but the visuals look great. I'm guessing still a lot of work to do with the sound hence why the videos only have Wags voiceover. Enjoying the hype and great following the progress. Looking forward to putting the Viper to use (in between smashing it into the tarmac and/or mountains as I learn how to fly it).

Nice surprise to see this video when I woke up this morning. The cockpit looks excellent! Looking forward to the next installment.

Looking forward to this whenever it's ready, the waiting isn't too bad once we know what's in the pipeline and kept informed with your updates.
-
I keep checking their YouTube account in case I missed the next video. I'm enjoying the hype, never really got interested in a module prior to its actually release. Only bought the Tomcat on launch day because there was some on the server and it looked so cool.
-
Great first introduction to the new aircraft!
-
But you can use a mod to control the LANTIRN pod as the pilot which I have been using a lot and it's really great for when I don't have a human RIO.

/Dire Straits/ I want my F-16 /Dire Straits/

I don't think it's going to be that early in September, otherwise the academic videos would be well and truly underway. I think the steam date is just a placeholder. I'm sure as they get close to finalising something suitable for beta release a bug or two will appear that will delay their planned date. But it's certainly soon. Soon enough that we better go to DEFCON 3...

VR or not, a decent replay system would be really great.
