  1. I actually prefered the placeholder rwr sounds.
  2. Trying to drop in CCIP and holding the trigger doesn't seem to work nearly as well as the low altitude drops like before, the bomb seems to be way off target when it opens up and then the cluster munitions drift even further away. What's the optimum way to use this weapon on a group of vehicles?
  3. I liked the low alt drops before, overflying enemy units fast and low rippling off those cluster bombs was really cool, I hope once we can adjust the HOF ourselves we can use them in that way again.
  4. What fuse setting should be used for low alt drops?
  5. Yes exactly. Need some more tinkering to learn how to use this weapon properly, maybe tomorrows patch means we can adjust the burst altitude which would be great.
  6. I've been having a great time with that weapon, it's hilariously destructive. I tried tossing them and dropping them in a dive but they don't work, as others mentioned it seems they hit the ground too fast. Dropping them from 2k ft at around 350-400knots seems to work very well. Hopefully burst altitude will be fixed at some point, tossing 10 of these into enemy area will be rather interesting.
  7. It's great and it will only get better as the module fills out and gets developed further. I don't think of it as paying for an unfinished EA product, I think of it in investing in the future of DCS.
  8. Excellent, thanks for the update!
  9. Yes lower speed and somewhat low altitude CBU97 drops in CCIP are absolutely brutal but it puts me at risk of AA fire and naughty manpads etc, I wanted to drop them from pretty high up or toss them into the area. Being able to adjust the dispersal alt seems like it's the way to use them in CCRP. Thanks for your feedback.
  10. It certainly adds the location onto the HUD when in Nav mode and it's there as a target in CCRP. If it makes a difference I overwrite an existing steerpoint, the MP mission already has five or six steerpoints already included from the mission editor and I just edited steerpoint 1 to the location I wanted.
  11. I also find it very difficult to take off safely with a crosswind. The same circumstances in a Tomcat (with two huge tails) doesn't have the same feeling. Different aircraft, different devs I know but still.
  12. Hi, It's probably me doing something wrong, last night in an MP pve server I was trying to CCRP bomb with CBU97 in a ripple to decimate a load of vehicles spread over an area. I used the F10 map for the coordinates and altitude of the biggest group of targets, entered that manually into steerpoint 1, I had some trouble getting to accept, according to the F10 map the co-ords N42-35-39.05 E41-47-14.06 wouldn't be accept I had to enter it as N42-35-39.05 E041-47-14.06, I again presume this is normal and just my knowledge it lacking as the target pipper was in the correct area and the time to target and bomb release countdown was working fine. I tried dropping from 5kft, 12kft, 2kft, even tossing them (which was cool) but in all the times I tried the bombs didn't hit their target, I dropped 10(! - yes really, just to test) CBU97 each run and I either hit nothing or maybe one vehicle so I'm guessing I'm going something wrong. Dropping them in CCIP was highly effective and every drop from one bomb guaranteed to damage a lot of targets. Am I using CCRP wrong? Entering the data for the release solution wrong? Is it bugged? Or not even implemented yet? Not complaining or anything if it is WIP, I'm very much enjoying flying this bird around and learning it as I go.
  13. Ah ok, thanks for the info. I didn't realise. I spent some time last night inputting several coordinates in a MP server to do a bombing mission but didn't get chance to try anything as the server kicked me out. :(
  14. When Wags did the CCRP video he had a steering cue on the HUD from a steerpoint. Is this something that he did from the mission editor and not yet implemented so that it can be input into the DED?
  15. Is this something that will be implemented in future, has that been confirmed anywhere? I would be good to be able to switch to Sidewinders without having to take my hands off the HOTAS.
  16. I had no idea about this 'Shift Y' function on the F10 map, I was having to tab out and use a website to convert the units. Thank you for that information!! #newb
  17. Which part are you getting stuck with? I was able to manage it last night but it took some patience to enter the co-ords as it didn't seem to always accept them and I am not sure why.
  18. Missed that from your post. Now I look like a right dick.
  19. Ah ok, good to know, thank you.
  20. You can do it with the canopy closed too, but you need to select 'hot mic' on the switch.
  21. On the MFD there is something that defaults to 10FT. I presume this was it, but haven't experimented with it yet.
  22. I used it yesterday and was working correctly. Try it with another Tacan perhaps, maybe an issue with that particular one? I used it with Kolki. Were you in MP? I've had issues before in MP with failing Tacans for some reason.
  23. Got it set correctly on the DED? Sorry if I'm stating something obvious, I'm at work and not with the sim, just running through it in my head. Edit - I mean you've got the right tacan freq and have it set to T/R etc.
  24. Did you follow the video from Wags? There is a button below the HSI, maybe it's that step you are missing.
  25. It's very early access. I know I'm to blame, I was one of the ones begging ED for such early access. I'm happy with its current state. I'd rather fly it now in the current state instead of having to wait another 6 months to get more development.
