I have spend the last week, after we finished the Alligator doing this, I think this is something that is missing from the ground support vehicles. Should be ready for release in a few days i should imagine A10C Munitions Loader Cheers Specter

If creating a model you want High detail on some parts, say a 4k map then i would suggest that you break the model down into what you want high and what you want low, then make the textures files accordingly. For the Alligator, I made a few 4k maps for say the hull and the deck, the rest ranged from 1k to 2k depending on the level of detail i wanted to show. Cheers Specter

Automod are proud to present Project 1171 HeliPad Variant (Just for fun and functionality) Tapir Landing Ship (NATO reporting name Alligator) our take on a modified variant of the Saratov. DOWNLOAD Many thanks (B/229) Specter

Automod are proud to present Project 1171 Tapir Landing Ship (NATO reporting name Alligator) based on the Saratov in active service Design of Project 1171 was initiated in 1959 by the Navy, while a similar dual-purpose Project 1173 was ordered by the civilian Ministry of Shipping. Eventually both designs were merged under Project 1171 umbrella, and the resulting ship was a compromise between military (speed, survivability) and civil (fuel economy) objectives. Design team produced four different configurations of the ship. The Navy selected the most powerful and fastest option, which was also least fuel-efficient, and the civil Ministry withdrew from the project completely. All production ships were made for the Navy and never operated on shipping lines. A total of 14 vessels were completed between 1964 and 1975; all were retired in 1992–1995. This has taken many hours or modelling, texturing and LUA creation, many trying to work out how something is done within DCS. I would like to give special thanks to a few individuals for their assistance during the course of this project: Pikey, Suntsag, Skatezilla and Joey45 for their advice and support during the project. We hope you will include this model in your missions and have as much fun with it as we have had whilst creating it. Hi All This is what i have tried so far: 1. created a rectangle in Max, positioned it around the light, setup a material with an already made texture "lz-light-bano-green.tga" a) set the the material to bano (ED make cool section) added TYPE="bano"; to the object attributes and set the mode to blend b) When trying to export i get the following error message Error: Unknown node type: bano.. Node: Rectangle001. File: .build\x86_64\vc120.release\Utils\NGModel_MaxPlugins\2014\Exporter\EDModelExporter.cpp:553. 2. Same as above but removed the object properties and also removed blend (so the object has no properties (this exports fine) but no light in the Sim So I am a little confused how to move forward with this as there are no guides to making lights in DCS If someone could point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated Thanks Specter

Hi Chaps, Well I am at a point were i need to do the lights on the landing decks along with the lights on the Alligator 1171 ship. Not sure where to start to be honest. I have modelled the lights and given them a basic texture, applied a Alpha to the light part but how do you get the lights to no look like a model and light up in the game? Any help would be appreciated Many thanks Sepcter

Made a little variant of the Alligator Landed the Gazelle on it no issues. Not really sure how to make it so you can start off any fly from the ship though. Any thoughts anyone? I did find in another mod GT.Landing_Point = {71.0, 16.26,-30.0} --{70.0, 16.26,-30.0} didnt work for me. Cheers Specter

HI Guys, A request if its permitted, would it be possible for ED to write a plugin for Maya as well as 3dsmax, this would, i am sure open up scope for more modding to be created for the already amazing Sim. Thanks (B/229) Specter

Just finished texturing and detailing the life rafts Cheers Spec
