I’m back at my computer later in the week and will see how I overcame the issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
If I remember correctly change your keyboard to US (you most lightly have UK) and this should sort the issue, when finished switch back.
-
Order it from Thrustmaster direct, I got one earlier in the year, see below, pretty cheap and hassle free The price is: - HOTAS WARTHOG STICK FEMALE DIN CONNECTOR: €6.00 - standard shipping costs: €2.93
-
It’s in GeForce experience not in the control panel, you most lightly have GE already as it’s used for updating drivers etc. simply go to settings and you can set up the FPS counter, if you want some better info, you should install MSI afterburner and you can display FPS, GPU, CPU etc all with the flick of a button, gives you a good idea of how hard your pc is working with DCS

If the base is not detected then one of the wires in the base could have come loose. The wires connected to the base DIN plug are fragile and pulling the stick in and out loosens the DIN connector and it can move. I had this issue, unscrew the DIN gently pull it up and ensure all wires are connected. It is a delicate solder but once connected it worked again. I used some superglue to ensure DIN was held better in place. Worth a look to see if this is the base issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok one more idea, change the keystroke you are using, sometimes it is ‘/‘ ; this also caused me issues, so I changed it to ‘z’ and it worked, Vaicom is the issue as it takes over your menu’s, so if you don’t have this then it is most lightly another issue, I would also run a simple Openbeta Repair.

Just wondering can you change the default load out ? I haven’t tried to date but in a number of missions, it would have been useful to have a slightly different load out
-
Greg, this makes sense and I never picked this up re Areas and sequence (even though they are numbered), just didn’t make the connection. I honestly think this explanation should be pinned under strategy section as how to progress the campaign. Many thx I will pick it up again and have another try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So let me see if I understand, Area 1 would be Larchwa and Area 7 Gub..., so I could target Area 1 & order wingman to 7 to push back the southern front and work my way up the map. If this is the case it doesn’t jump up as obvious until you pointed it out. I assume white means it has changed hands to the allies, does the intensity of the red mean anything ?

Thx for your reply, building on your points above, it would be more beneficial for the XO to stop telling us to do a SEAD every mission but is it possible to tell us what area to concentrate on, also I must be missing the frontline, is it possible for you to post a screenshot indicating what to look for. The initial setup videos where great but maybe something on how we progress would help us understand how to enjoy the campaign more. I know you have put allot of work into this campaign and for the most part (albeit minor bugs) it works flawlessly, voiceovers etc are excellent. A little bit more explanation of the above is maybe exactly what I need to get the most out of it.

Yep it’s a fault with DCS not the campaign, I ended up just manually inputting the freq, a bit of a pain as it goes back and forth quite a bit but nothing else can be done. Hopefully it’s fixed in future patch

Do you by any chance use Voice Attack or Vaicom add on, as I had the same issue ?

TM Warthog Base/F-18 Stick still worth it in 2021?
Oilman100 replied to dmwierz's topic in Thrustmaster
You use the Virpil software to reprogram the Virpil VID to be the same as the Thrustmaster one and thus Target doesn’t see any difference, so it only needs to be done once -
TM Warthog Base/F-18 Stick still worth it in 2021?
Oilman100 replied to dmwierz's topic in Thrustmaster
My friend has the Virpil CM2 base and came from the Warthog, all thrustmaster sticks are compatible with Virpil bases and you can also use the thrustmaster programming software which is extremely powerful. He is very happy with the upgrade which is what got me thinking about the same route. I think with the CM2 you will have your base for life, as it won’t wear out, with the Warbrd you may always regret not just pushing for the best option. You’ve invested allot already so a little more would be justifiable -
TM Warthog Base/F-18 Stick still worth it in 2021?
Oilman100 replied to dmwierz's topic in Thrustmaster
I have the full warthog setup with the F-18 grip, I have looked at the Virpil all metal base and I’m very tempted but the thrustmaster base is great (I have greased it) but I bought it when it first came out and it’s still working great after almost 10yrs so it lasts along time. I use a 10cm extension so movement is very smooth. The F-18 grip, again I bought it when it first came out, it is absolutely excellent, feels very solid and great tactile buttons, it is a step change from the original A-10 one that came with the stick (it also works flawlessly after 10yrs). I can’t fault the setup and as others have said it is down to price, my opinion, if price allows go for the Virpil base CM2 and F-18 grip from thrustmaster. -
I must admit I gave up as well, it all feels a bit pointless, fly same mission each time, knock out the assigned targets but get no recognition. No real frontline to attack. The Liberation campaign is much more immersive. I believe the ME is just too restrictive for such a campaign and for those looking an immersive campaign either wait for ED or try Liberation. The latest update solved the issue, thx for all the replies

There is a binding but I disabled it already, the only one working is the default one that you cannot edit or delete
-
Yep another random key press will turn it off again. The single line is not too distracting but the multi line one is, so I just manually turn it of with RCTL+Scrlck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

yes Did Mav Space Stabilize make it in?
Oilman100 replied to AvroLanc's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Does the stabilisation also work with the IR variant 65D ? -
No the first one line appears and some time later the second one appears. It seems like it is seeing the button press to cycle it but I’m definitely not hitting the keys
-
Since upgrading to 2.7 I am randomly getting the FPS counter appear, I initially thought it was a keystroke I had programmed but it happens randomly with no specific keystroke making it happen and it happens across all modules. Is there any way to deactivate this as I don’t use it, the one line counter is tolerable but then randomly it goes to the detailed display of about 8 lines. Any help appreciated

Connector cable TM Warthog joystick broken. Repair or replace?
Oilman100 replied to CooperS's topic in Thrustmaster
Same thing happened to me, bought a replacement DIN and cable with connector from Thrustmaster, arrived in 2 weeks and installed. Can’t remember exact cost but it was very cheap Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Operation Persian Freedom for the A-10C TK is one of the best campaigns I’ve played and is well supported, it is up there with Raven 1 and the voice acting and interaction is excellent. Highly recommended. OPF is very good but not supported now so allot of the triggers simply don’t work, these are detailed in the Forum thread, it has been updated by one of the forum members but due to recent DCS updates triggers need resetting again.

I had an issue with the Gun not firing, turned out I had assigned it to the Space key and because it is also used to advance some texts / commands in the campaign, there was a conflict. When I assigned it to another key all worked fine.
