  1. My experience has been that spending the time to learn the calibration process is well worth the effort. And yes, PointCTRL is a game changer.
  2. Hi, I would like to develop a TARGET profile for the F-16 simply because I want to program vPress to talk and VR functions. Any good text or profiles to detect a short press or a long press of a button. Also, since ED did some direct mapping of functions to the HOTAS, how do you remove that so there aren't conflicts? TIA
  3. What is "Relry's upgrade package"? Got a link or web page? Thanks
  4. It won't power off if you hold the on and off button for more than 4 seconds?
  5. I should have stated that I do run with a PD of 1.4 Didn't notice any real diffence between that abnd 1.8 but was a large fps hit. Life in the slow 1080 lane. :-)
  6. Thanks all for responding. Guess I will tweak the PD some. IIRC PD and super sampling are one and the same.
  7. Thought about it, but not sure that my 1080 would run the reverb with any decent framerate. Plan is to stick with the 1080 until the next Nvidia cycle. And yes, it does say a lot that you found a HMD that you like!!
  8. OK, I just got the Rift S after having the Rift CV1 for a couple of years. I have been doing some testing between the two over the past few days. Trying to evaluate it to see if I want to keep it. I thought about the revierb, but will have the 1080 until the next gen Nivida and just don't think that the 1080 will push the reverb at a decent frame rate. Anyway, back on subject. I know the You Mileage May Vary applies, but what are the main areas of improvement in the Rift S. Here are the things I noted. 1. The SDE is noticeable smaller but still present. Overall the cockpit looks a little better but the gages still are not crisp. There may be one or two things that I can read now without having to zoom, but there are not many. 2. Some words/gages are slightly clearer but not jaw dropping 3. the MFD labels are a little clearer but still a little fuzzy. 4. the mini-mapo looks better 5. the aircraft looks better in external view (that doesn't matter much as one doesn't spend a lot of time outside the cockpit) 6. I can spot some at 8500 feet (S) instead on 6500 (CV1). 7. In testing with a friend that has the O+, I would judge the Rift S as comparable to the O+. So after reading all the post in the other thread, I have to ask, what am I missing Thanks for any and all input.
  9. Do you have to "bake" the clay? Could it be sanded? Thanks for the idea
  10. @deno87 GREAT info. I will have to test as well. :-)
  11. I am 96.5% sure that I saw a post that he has a reverb mount. Besides that mount it should work just fine. The reverb has inside out tracking like the Rift S which is what Miles has. EDIT: The post below indicates (stress INDICATES) that it should work with the reverb. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3982946&postcount=1410
  12. Yeap, the upper right hand corner is where Miles has it go until it times out. With Miles latest procedure I got it fairly close and then used Edge calibration to refine. As far as where my arm is point , just so it feels like I am point at the switch.
  13. I haven't used Reddit much so couldn't find your thread. Do you have a link?
  14. I'll look for it. I also added a thread to the discord channel just for sharing such stuff.
  15. OK, The PointCTRL Discord server is up. It is still a WIP but should be a start. There are several different chat channels and a couple of different voice channels. Miles said that he would try and monitor the voice channel when he was on. I have Discord up when I am home and will try to monitor it as well. https://discord.gg/eDMbrz Suggestions for improvements are always welcome.
  16. It isn't "live" yet but should be soon. As soon as that occurs, Miles, Deano87, or myself will post a link. Here it DCS allows it. If not then we will figure something out.
  17. Miles has responded, but I thought I would add in my 2 cents worth. I don't think that setting up or managing the site will detract Miles from production or firmware improvements. Deano87 and myself have volunteered to help at least to get it started. Yes there will be questions asked on it, but hopefully as here, the community will pitch in and answer when they can. I also think that it will help to make problem solving and communication easier. Got a problem with first time calibration? Jump on and ask. If I am on, I would be more than willing to jump on Discord comns and talk you through the process. Anyway, my experience with discord is that it can make communication easier and you can get input from multiple people.
  18. Can someone tell me what this does, the advantages and disadvantages of doing this. Or point to a thread. Thanks,
  19. LOL that the problem with making assumptions. I ASSUMED that since it rolled over I didn't need to go back and look. I'll let Deno87 run with it. Don't hesitate to ask for help.
  20. If his son doesn't have time, either Deano87 or I can set it up and then pass ownership over. What ever works best for Miles.
  21. I too use all three and Mumble as well. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Deano87 is correct the Discord is probably the easiest to setup and work with. It is also a place for more "instant" chat like interaction. That could be helpful in trouble shooting things and getting other people up to speed. You can setup different channels assign different roles. I run a channel for our Combat flight sim squad, so let me know if you need help. As for flight nights and scenarios, the number of people interested will really determine on how to do that. I would suggest a different thread with a poll to determine that.
  22. Skate, Thanks very much for this fabulous utility Salute Sur!
  23. I have no idea, but have you tried to make sure the right FCU was completely out of the picture?
  24. Nope, it doesn't interfere with operation of the TM Warthog HOTAS. I dont use all the switches on the throttle, but I haven't noticed any issue after 2 weeks of use (say 5 hours gameplay). If you hold your hand in the vertical position, the FCU button pad is on TOP of your index finger. All that is next to the grip is the elastic strap. I have noticed a few cases where the joystick hid the FCU from the HCU. That was in the Ka-50 and the joystick is on my right side.
