More VRAM helps a lot with DCS VR performance
AKA_Clutter replied to RealDCSpilot's topic in Virtual Reality
AS I have a 3080 on the way, I hope I'm not too disappointed. That or the 3080 20 GB comes out within 90 days. -
Hi, I am starting to setup of TARGET profile for my TM WARTHOG HOTAS and in doing so I have a question on the key commands in the file associated with the dogfight switch. Can someone expli9an the difference between the following commands. Most are not bound, but I would like to know the differences, so I know which ones I need to define. Thanks DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_CENTER DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_Cycle DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_Cycle_Inboard DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_Cycle_Outboard DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_DOGFIGHT DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_DOGFIGHT_CENTER (3 key) DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_MISSILE_OVERRIDE DOGFIGHT_Missile_Override_Switch_MISSILE_OVERRIDE_CENTER (4 key)

How to assing actions to Mouse buttons.
AKA_Clutter replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not sure. That would be work around, but would like to use the buttons directly. -
I have a Logitech G903 mouse. It 6 button in addition to the normal, left, right, and wheel. I would like to assign some controls to hose, but it looks li9ek only certain functions (a very few can be assigned commands. Is thee something I missing? Do I need to try to load it as a different device? Or is there a work around that is easy. Thanks :joystick:

So my oder just shipped. I know that it comes with a round plate, and a square one. What is the difference in use and which one do most use? Also is one better for certain applications?
-
That is what I did for a long time (mouse) Tried the head move and HOTAS button click but never really got used to it. I second the recommendation for Voice Attack and ViaCOmm(?). I did end up going with a third party add on, called Point CTRL and it works well for me.

Given that Black Shark 1 came out in 2008, that doesn't surprise me at all. And yes, VR users struggle more than most. One thing that has me more frustrated than usual is that my impression (no numbers to back t his up) is that the 1080 FTW performed better than the new 2070S, IN DCS. You mentioned "varying various settings" Can you name a few for me to try? I assume they are both in-game and out of game settings. TIA :pilotfly:

OK Here is the issue. Last night I was on DCS multi-player with two friends. First run through I had 30 - 40 fps. Not the best, but what I have come to accept in DCS and VR. the host's game crashed so we restarted. I got the same plane with the same loadout at the same place. This time I have 20 -25 fps. WTF. Of late I have been running HWMonitor and logging the files in different sessions. I noticed that from the first runt I had CPU usage ~ 30% (AVG = 26%)and GPU load bounce between 50ish and 75ish (AVG = 56). The second run had a CPU usage AVG 20% or and a GPU usage of 40%. In both cases I hade expected wither the CPU or GPU to be close to 100% (90% plus) given. Any clue as to what may be going on? I've attached a PDF show the runs. the Blue Orange are from the first run, when the other (Yellow/Gray) two are from the second run. I was running Precision X1 with a GPU overclock. Thanks for any help. Oh, CPU is not overclocked and am now running a Rift S. DCS GPU-CPU Chart.pdf

Question: In your template, you have "//Configure(&Joystick, MODE_EXCLUDED);" I understand that this does NOT exclude that control from the script. I don't see a corresponding line for the TM WH Throttle. Now since it is comment out, it probably doesn't matter. Is there a reason NOT to have //Configure(&Throttle, MODE_EXCLUDED); in the template? TIA

Looking forward to try the template out> Thanks for all the work.

Looking to develop a TARGET profile for F-16
AKA_Clutter replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in Thrustmaster
Humm, not sure exactly what this means or the impact. However, I will play around with this and see what I can do. Typically I have used TARGET to setup profiles based on Macro files. I don't change the axis, but will swap the keyboard commands around some. Thanks for all the input. Be prepared for more questions. :-) -
Looking to develop a TARGET profile for F-16
AKA_Clutter replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in Thrustmaster
OK, I was just using DMS as an example. I think there was one in the A-10C but it has been YEARs since I have flown that. With this, I would not need to use the Script Editor. I think I will give it a spin anyway as I think it may be easier. Next question. Can you use an editor like, Notepad++ to edit the SE files, do you have to go through TARGET SE? Oh and another question. What is "Implement CW and CCW keyboard commands for the encoders!!!" TIA -

Just to make sure I am reading this correctly, for DMS up, I could replace that with ALT D, and and DCS would then determine if it was Short or Long. Is that correct? -

LOL. "Easy" is in the eye of the beholder. I do use the TARGET GUI and do use Macros but haven't used the script editor before or try to set it so that it would recognize the difference between DMS short and DMS long. It will be interesting to see how that is portrayed in the macro file. -

AKA_Clutter replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in Thrustmaster
This thread did start with a specific question for doing the F-16 controls setup, but has yielded me MUCH MUCH more information. I greatly appreciate all the responses. I may give Hoe Fires setup a try, but I do like what SGT Coyle said. If I build it myself, I will KNOW exactly where the cont0orls are. I can also set it up as I like it and try and maintain some consistency between DCS modules, IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad, Elite Dangerous, and ,,, ,,, Again, thanks for ALL of the responses and help -

Your granny? No, but maybe your grandpa! I though it would probably have to be through the scripting. Do you know if you can start a profile in the GUI and then switch to the script editor. I know you can't go the other way around. As for the embedded maps, when I looked Thursday night, I could have sworn they weren't under the TM -joystick column. They were last night so I think I have that sorted. Thanks for the responses.
