  2. Running triple screens with a GTX 1080ti @ 3072x768. game works fine in this resolution. Testing however running at 1080P 5760x1080, and upon startup I get the following error - going back down to a lower resolution fixes it - is there a limitation or workaround for this that anyone knows of?   3. Thanks for the feedback, good info. I also am going to pre-order the G2 and just wait keeping my CV1 for now. the 3080 TI is not even available for pre-order yet is it or can you not disclose :music_whistling:
  4. Good point, I was aware of it also have a 1080ti card and like you planning to upgrade to the 3080 when they release. May OC the 1080ti as needed to get by in the interim but read from 1070 and 1080 owners they were running the G1 and Index OK, based on the specs the G2 resolution looks the same but better panel and lenses so would assume about the same performance from the GPU.
  5. I did not know about the Reverb G2, so thank you for that great info. Just found a some videos of people doing comparisons on the G2 vs index and rift s and the center is much more clear but looks like they not been able to do much around the edges. Certainly G2 looks the best followed by index. youtube had a great comparison video "OCULUS RIFT S VS HP REVERB G2 VS VALVE INDEX - Through The Lens Comparison! Which VR Headset To Buy?" , based on that info sounds like I'll preorder the G2 and many already have gotten proto-types and echo what you stated above, also sounds like it may release next month (maybe).
  6. As someone with an original Rift I'm in the mood to upgrade but can't find a definitive answer on whether I/we should .... and to what. It seems everyone has different opinions, the rift is not great it's rather blurry IMO so like everyone else looking for the headset with the largest clear sweet-spot and good image quality without a performance hit. Does it currently exist or should we wait?

  9. 2nd these comments , please don't change the map around and remove things or give us the option on which version of the map we can fly if you decide to change it. This is the best map so far, very happy with it.
  10. The problem I had/have with Normandy map is it's boring, it all looks the same to me. I'm very pleased with the channel map it's the best so far. There's a couple things I hope for. Don't remove houses and objects just to improve performance, my performance is good if you are going to remove stuff please make it opt in/out. Having all these house/buildings and variation while flying is very nice. While I agree some of the modern assets detract from the WW2 feeling , here again please don't remove them and leave the spot empty - replace with a ww2 asset. I know everyone has different opinions on have an accurate map vs having a fun to fly map so maybe have two versions one for people like me who love the new variety and one for who want true WW2 accuracy.
  11. RESOLVED After a complete uninstall and reinstall and using the oculus tray disable ASW option again, now getting over 45FPS. I've not uninstalled DCS for a long time, so appears at least my issues was related to something in the DCS files / saves / configurations or something. Problem now solved.
  12. I don't think so because I'm literally locked at 45, if I start one of the campaigns it drops to 10-20fps . In Il2 at ultra settings with ASW off I'm getting 60-88 FPS. I've seen the numbers change in DCS but never over 45 and even changed everything to very low settings. Hoped someone had also experienced this and found out why ASW was still on, just uninstalled and reinstalled the program, waiting on that to see what happens

Hello all thanks for the replies, when I look at the sky or the ground or swtich to another view the frames stay capped at 45, most definitely ASW is on as that number is not changing but I can't figure out how to turn it off. Developer tool - disable ASW no change download and use oculus tray, setup profile for DCS - disable ASW no change Control - num pad 1 - does not appear to do anything running standalone version not through steamvr.
  14. Downloaded new oculus beta , turned off disabled ASW however DCS still is capped at 45 FPS. Anyone know how to turn this cap off, checked it against IL2 and after disabling I'm not longer capped at 45FPS in IL2. Pressing CTRL num pad 1 does not do anything

  16. In the new release today it listed the fa18, su33, and supercarrier as the last chance to buy before the price goes up. These appear to be 99 dollars in the store, what are they talking about last chance to save? Was this not 60 dollars just a week or two ago?

  18. Like many here I was never really happy with Normandy terrain, also have been hearing about updates to the map for months now without any news.   19. OK thanks I was referencing the changes to the Normandy map upcoming, at the top of this forum they said open beta release for today, just assumed that was for the Normandy map changes. Regardless will be worth the wait.     Got it working Finally got this working with rift VR. Uninstall Rift, reinstall, a new version of rift was installed, when starting DCS the new version told me it was not DCS was not authorized to run or something like that, even though I had Unknown Sources turned in the prior version I was running. Turned it on in the new version and DCS is now working. If you were block oculus through your host file or advanced firewall rules, unblock to get the update. Might be worth uninstalling and reinstalling as well, it would appear whatever my prior version was it was not utilizing unknown sources correctly.

    Thanks to all for the help here's some more details but still no luck - uninstalled steam vr but like the other guy says above nothing getting sent to rift so cant use vr - waited 20 minutes still nothing - tried another game with rift and it works fine - it worked in openalpha2 without issue but no go in the new version - tried full screen, 1 screen, 3 screens, check the enable vr box uncheck check. Predator no luck with any of the other tips from the forums you posted above.

    Yes unkonwn sources is on in oculus settings page. When I start DCS Steam VR start even though I don't have steam running nor do I have DCS installed on steam, the I just see the white screen with the grid on the floor and the picture of the black receiver in front of me.
