  1. Yep I agree, I'm a VR newb, I setup DCS months ago to run great in VR. I just changed all the settings in DCS to very low distance, low textures, pixel density to 1.1 made no difference in my frames.... Might be some setting in steam vr. Regardless of what I changed in DCS it made little to no impact on my fps in the apache.
  2. I lowered textures to medium but made little difference, lowered PD from 1.7 to 1.5, again little difference. I maxed 13 frames but mostly stutter, close it and start charnwood and I get 45. I don't know what the problem is either,
  3. 63 dollars spent I can't even fly the Apache, I get 11 FPS. Play the Charnwood campaign and constant 45, on a 3080 with reverb g2. Not happy
  4. Waiting for more news on this, it is keeping from DCS frankly, I tried liberation a few months back but could not figure it out in my short time with it and it required more effort than I could put in at the time. Anyone have suggestions on what the best dynamic campaign is, if it's liberation I may try it again as I have a little more time now. Thanks
  5. Thank you finally found it under the aircraft selection instead of controls. On the tomcat it was in the controls section, appears this now set it for multiple aircraft.
  6. Recently setup the tomcat for VR zoom using the layer menu, I can't find this in the Huey, how do you setup zoom in the Huey for VR?
  7. Recently setup the tomcat for VR zoom using the layer menu, I can't find this in the Huey, how do you setup zoom in the Huey for VR?
  8. I'm not sure if it is a limitation of my neck or VR to be honest. While I can look to the side in order to see the panels on the side of the tomcat clearly requires very uncomfortable positions, I literally can't read these panels without twisted my neck to one side and trying to embed my chin in to my chest to get the switches within the sweet spot to see it clearly. Using a reverb G2. Going to play around with snap views again today to see if I can figure out a better way to do this.
  9. Question snap views in VR are supposed to work, correct? I setup several in non-VR but they did not work in VR, if I understand I need to stand up and literally walk around to set the snap views in VR and then they should work. Does that sound correct?
  10. Thanks I may check this out when I have more time, pretty much spent all day trying to do the f14 cold start tutorial but can't see anything in vr if it's on my side. Is there no option without having to install more stuff to be able to look at the various panels and interact with them? I can see the ones in front of me just fine.
  11. Are you guys playing at night? I had this issue until I turned on a light in the room then 100% better, appears it does not work in the dark
  12. I can't move my head around enough to read the panels on the sides, example I can't see any of the text in the f14, can't possible move my head enough to see the oxygen switch either. Tried to setup snap views but these don't work in VR? I've spent most of the day trying to figure out how to fix this and can't find a solution could some nice person point me how you would setup different views in VR to be able to see and interact with each panel?
  13. ^ Just tried it got it running OK around 85%, thank you for the suggestion
  14. Hope someone could give some quick guidance I started using DCS Liberation 4.x and i've set the income rate and starting money very low in a WW2 scenario on the channel. It runs pretty bad in VR almost unplayable and I assume it's due the number of assets and missions going on around me. I let the AI assign the missions and I see dozens being simulated. Is there a setting somewhere to limit the activity while still leaving the AI on? Is VR possible with Liberation? I have no issues running VR with DCS, however the Charlemagne campaign is a little hard no the FPS. running an rtx3080 with reverb g2. Thank
  15. aleader can you provide a link on where you found instructions, have the same questions and see no where to link anything to an account. Thanks
  16. Syria map looks pretty good in VR, the colors are nice however the Normandy and Caucuses map look really bad. The trees are so green and bright it's ugly. Can't use reshade to change the colors when using a vr headset, someone said use Ansel (tried this tonight but does not appear that's for changing colors in the headset). Does anyone have a way to improve and enhance the colors in VR?
  17. Thanks for the tips, I think I'm good now - need to research a bit to see what other FPS people are getting with similar setup. My PD was set at 1.5 lowering it to 1 get me 70+ FPS but it's a little more blurry. Something else now going on where DCS is both in the Windows MR screen and on one of my monitor windows and the mouse no longer works in the VR headset but on the windows MR screen. What a PITA this is but I think you guys resolved my FPS issues. Much appreciated. Also I just found that if I set the oculus client .exe to compatibility mode run as admin it no longer starts the oculus when starting DCS, so now I only have steam vr and windows MR starting. no winwing stick, have a warthog
  18. I think I found what you were talking about it's called Render Resolution : Mine was set to auto - so I change it to 50 and immediately getting 45-50FPS, then changed to 100 still getting 45FPS, set back to auto and back to 11FPS. So this looks like it's the big fix I was looking for thanks FoxTwo - Assume it's being set to 50 because we are trying to match the resolution that the G2 is per eye correct?
  19. I'm not seeing a vr scaling option in steam vr, checked under developer settings and regular settings
  20. So the other part of this is everything is very jerky, even after I close DCS my pc is very slow , when I type it takes 3 or 4 seconds for something to appear and the mouse wont move around, it lags. So I don't think it's DCS causing this. I don't want to uninstall oculus because I use that for other programs, I don't want it to start with DCS though either. When I shut down all 3 my pc returns to normal. Checking Steam scaling now. Yes meant windows mixed reality that's the 3rd thing that starts up. By the way I'm running DCS non steam version
  21. Had high expectations that I'd just plug all this in and it would work, but appears we need a master degree from HP just to even get the Reverb G2 working. They told me I had a bad headset but after numerous times of unplugging and plugging back to the USB 3.0 port it finally came on - no further issues as of yet with this part. I'm coming from the original oculus and amazed at the quality and clarity of the picture, however I've got major FPS issues. Running an i9-10600, with EVGA RTX 3080 Ultra, and the Reverb G2. 1) When I start DCS Oculus software opens, then steam vr, then mixed reality - do I really need all 3 of these running? How to stop that without uninstall oculus as I still will use this for beat saber. 2) I'm getting 11 FPS in VR, with the oculus I was getting mostly above 40 - not sure what I need to do to tweak this -
  22. Got my G2 today came from the original oculus rift, wow what a difference - it's as clear as looking at it on my monitors. I wish I could use reshade though, having some issue getting it to run right though will post in a separate thread. I've only seen oculus cv1 and reverb g2, no comparison the g2 blows it away beyond any expectation I had for clarity.
  23. Well I just a reverb G2 in the mail today and wow is it clear, might be easier to read the guages in the headset than on my triple screen setup. I came from an original rift, just upgraded and despite some initial problems I can tell you based on what I read the G2 is far clearer than the quest 2. Can't really advise on the specs part though will have to leave that for someone else.
  24. I just setup CQ32G1 - triple screen 32 inch monitors , these are 1440P and I'm amazed at the quality. The only complaint so far is the brightness but with some adjustment can get it to the correct level. If you are gaming only I highly recommend the AOC 32" monitors on amazon or 27" if 32's are too big for you, they are curved and wow what a difference that makes in immersion in triplescreen. Running them in 1080P or 1440P I see no ghosting or clarity issues
