A little question about the Rudder Trimmer...
PeterP replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
No, apparently not. It's physically more realistic to keep your feet where they are when hitting the trimmer (same what a RL pilot is doing), instead to re-center them. Read more about it here >>> Can we have this little Huey feature in our BS? -
No it isn't . FFB for the Mi-8 is set-up differently as the other modules. >>> Inconsistent FF Tune setting across modules that leads to confusion

A little question about the Rudder Trimmer...
PeterP replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
This is what happens when you trim with force-trim rudders , they hold their position without the need to center them: The same happens with the cyclic: -

How-to: Reducing/editing the ETL main-panel vibration.
-
Whoever thinks too that the visual feedback of the shaking Main-panel is still a little exaggerated in Beta 1.2.6.18651 can make following edit to the ..\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Uh-1H\Cockpit\Scripts\mainpanel_init.lua with Notepad++. This edit Reduces the shaking of the main-panel by 50% while the shaking of the fuselage and FM is untouched: You can try different values between 0.0-1.0 . 50% of the default just looks/feels plausible to me (and I don't fear any more that the main-panel will suddenly break off). The shaking of the fuselage and the sound (and my butt-kicker) is more then enough for me to get a reasonable feedback what's happening.

Made a Video that shows it - no mod installed - it's a clean 1.2.6.18651 installation. Used HDR setting Normal and original res is 1600x900 - windowed. But it happens also in various other resolution and aspect-ratios , windowed/full-screen. System and In-game settings: Sys: Win7 64bit, Intel i5 3570K@3,8 MHz, 8GB RAM 1333, Radeon 7950 In-game settings: all high, traffic low, water medium, heat blur off, 1 screen 512, MSAA 2x, HDR normal, clutter 250, trees 15000, pre-load radius 150000m, just VSYNC and cockpit shadows on. I used the original track from Wodan an took over the camera control with the mouse. Download the re-recorded track with zoom in/out is >>here<<. - you will have to un-pause the track after loading .- It is a MP recording and you will be in the cockpit after approx 40 seconds. And I bet that this happens to many of you also all the time - but you barley notice, as the default HDR setting is anyway overdone. But it gets a big problem when using a reduced set-up like this: HDR with a 'D' like Dynamic for DCS 1.2.4 Known Fix/workaround: You can Alt-Tab to the desktop as long you are running in fullscreen-mode when this happens. After you enter DCS again the shaders will be reloaded and it's working again. And it's almost instantly broken in the Huey cockpit. - so there is a shader-bug somewhere that let the HDR darkening/changing get stuck in certain conditions. And it's totally incompatible with the Huey cockpit.

HDR with a 'D' like Dynamic for DCS 1.2.4
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
First the good news: I could easily reproduce this bug witch your track. And it's not my Mod. Now the bad news: It happens also on default HDR settings. Made a Video that shows it - no mod installed - it's a clean 1.2.6.18651 installation. Used HDR setting Normal and original res is 1600x900 - windowed. But it happens also in various other resolution and aspect-ratios , windowed/full-screen. I used the original track from Wodan an took over the camera control with the mouse. The re-recorded track with zoom in/out is attached. - you will have to un-pause the track after loading .- It is a MP recording and you will be in the cockpit after approx 40 seconds. Known Fix/workaround: You can Alt-Tab to the desktop as long you are running in fullscreen-mode when this happens. After you enter DCS again the shaders will be reloaded and it's working again. Edit: Bug-report >>> HDR fails and got 'stuck' bug -whatever- My mod looks better, even if stuck/broken , as the default HDR that is still working. HDR fail bug.trk -
Use this one and point it to the SweetFX_settings.txt in the DCS bin folder. SweetFX Configurator_1.3.3 - installer version

Click- and Customizable Radio Menu for DCS World
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This means: There will be no new version as long I or someone else discovers a bug and/or discovers a incompatibility . So: Current version (3.1) is working in 1.2.6.18651 (within the limits that are mentioned in the annotations of the ClickableRadioMenuConfig.lua). About JSGM: Yes, you can install it with JSGM , at least the files that have to be placed into the DCS directory. The package works 'out of the box' as long you have your JSGM install in the ..\Eagle Dynamics folder (the one before 'DCS World'). You can also place the "Clickable Radio Menu for DCS World" folder into DCS to keep all at one place - but this isn't really necessary. Please Read the JSGM documentation for further assistance. -
The f10 map is Hard-coded and I don't know a way to change it and no DEV ever placed a hint at the English forum. The Only workaround is to use SoftTH - so you are able to squeeze all the render-contend into your mainscreen (Appkey+S). This will will make the Map maybe a little fuzzy and show it not in the right aspect ratio , but at least you can use it again.

HDR with a 'D' like Dynamic for DCS 1.2.4
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I don't worry and never did... But (!) , don't buy these models with a scratch !! - As I wrote: Foretelling and mind-reading becomes a gamble and the projections are very blurry (and even can drive you insane..). Don't mess with quantum-effects with a scratched crystal ball ! There is a good reason why mine is in the repair-shop. -
Use one of these pre-sets: >>> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.ph...11#post1541311 BTW: all the links that I have posted up to now can be found in post #1 when following this sticky right here in this forum section: Sticky: Unofficial "Dummie's Guide" to Multi-Monitor Setup Hmm..., seems to be a good idea to actually really read them when running into problems.. ;) - seems some of them are really useful and not only placed to use up some web-space.

HDR with a 'D' like Dynamic for DCS 1.2.4
PeterP replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Sorry , No. I deeply apologise, I normally use a crystal-ball to answer questions like yours. But it has a little scratch and I gave it in to repair . It will not return until next month... So I have to ask you for more information. Please post your general system information (GPU/Driver) Please post a track and tell when it happens. Please tell me all your in-game settings and your exact monitor layout and I need also your used SweetFx settings (txt), so I can replay your track in the same conditions you have recorded it. Sorry again, I know how inconvenient this is. I also miss the times when I was able to write people a PM with the answer just before they have posted the question..., *sigh*. -
Problem downloading .miz from "user files" website page using IE

Phantom Monitor Fix This script measures your total desktop and pulls the window to the left-top most possible position - even when it's a negative value. And it does it only with that DCS.exe process. Download it here:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37983 Start this small script before mission start. Tip - place the exe or a shortcut of this script it in your startup folder , C:\Users\>User Name<\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup to lower your workload . So it is loaded when your system boots and you don't have to manually start it any more.

Do whatever you like - just make sure that in the end the files will be placed in the Bin folder of DCS.

FFB Input delay fix: Some notes on v.1.2.6
-
start here > BIGNEWY'S Collective project 2013 and here > KA-50 collective: another picture-tale to get some inspiration how to solve it easialy with a counterwight and implement even a functional collective-brake/twist-throttle.

I always use win-merge to compare changes whenever a new update hits the surface , so I have a estimate what mods are save to use and work after updating and which will probably broken and need a edit . And I made a research about the FFB functions. The FFB functions are probably hard-coded in some DLL files and not accessible by the end-user. Just swapping some files will not work. So we have to wait till it's got fixed by ED to get this functionality back:
