it really depends on your budget.
imho if you don't want to spend that kinda money, the x52 pro is perfectly fine. overall the production quality is good and so far I didn't encounter any problems at all, neither hard nor software wise, since I bought some 2 years ago.
building a profile is quite easy once you've figured out the programming software. surely it's possible to get a real HOTAS setup; I build my own but it can easily take a couple of hours to get a well thought out profile.
