  3. Do DCS servers run OK on VPS servers? Sorry if this derails this thread, but I would be very interested in understanding other peoples experiences of using VPS servers, as this would be cheaper than dedicated hosting. I am also interested in looking at this solution for a dedicated Falcon BMS campaign server for my squadron. Thanks in advance!

  6. [OPEN] Shrek Squadron Server DCS Stopped Working Yet another DCS Stopped working message during a MP Mission with about 7 clients. We are getting used to them!:cry: Seemed to occur shortly after a trigger event announcing Enemy convoy inbound. I have attached all the files available. Crash 200813 MP server.zip

  13. Mission freezes I am continuing to try to understand why the attached mission freezes. I took out the Heliocopter (HAGx units) WPs with associated LAND actions and it still freezes at about 0728 hrs, mission start is at 0630 hrs. Any ideas as to what is causing this would be greatly appreciated? Shrek - Revenge for Grozny v1.12 no land sps.miz
  14. I have attached a mission I have been working on for a couple of weeks that freezes when a second heliocopter reaches its waypoint that is set to land. The first heliocopter lands OK and triggers an Spec Ops HMMW which drives to an OP (lazy bastards!). Is there a bug here? Mission is attached, the freeze occurs without fail when HAG1 reaches its SP11 which is set to Land. Any ideas as to what is causing DCS World 1.2.1 6288 to freeze, no crash logs as DCS just freezes!:cry: Shrek - Revenge for Grozny v1.12.miz
  15. Thanks for the various ideas and approaches, I think I have used something from all of them. As always there is always a need for compromise. I have managed to get a workable solution. I have attached the mission file for my solution in case this helps someone else. The WMD convoy (escorts and tankers) follow a predefined path with in this case 6 WPs. When the WMD escorts are destroyed, the tankers will continue to the next waypoint. The HazMat team (in this case 2xAPC M1043 HMMWV Armament with ROE set to Weapons hold) have the same waypoints as the WMD convoy but in reverse. A Flag keeps track of the WP the tankers have stopped at, this is used to Activate the relevant new combined HazMat/Tanker convoy when necessary. When the Hazmat team enters the moving zone associated with the WMD convoy this triggers the deactivation of the old WMD Convoy group and the HazMat team and activates the relevant WP new aggregated convoy that returns to the Airfield. There is other logic that keeps count of the number of remaining tankers, and activates the correct WP new HazMat/Tanker group with the right number of tankers. Phew - a bit convoluted but gets there! A major compromise is that a Russian tanker is not the same as a US one! I might look further at Grimes's suggestion 2. WMD Convoy Test.miz
  16. When I can get past the master server login, very rare these days! Its been over a week since I managed to get through to the server list, boo hoo!:cry_2: I get this same behaviour as well! No fixes anyone?
  17. Yes its a game breaker alright! Tried Tuesday night for an hour, but failed to login to master server. Same tonight but have only wasted 30 mins tonight! Patience is a virtue and mines running low!
  18. Simplified Scenario I have an enemy convoy, within the convoy there are two units (Fuel Tankers) hauling VX Nerve agent, the other units (BTRs etc) are escorts. So I want a friendly HazMat team (recently landed at a nearby airfield) to meet the Tankers along their path, but only once the other escort units in the group are dead, then escort the tankers back to a nearby airfield. The problems I have to overcome are that: I have no idea where along the convoy path the tankers will become unescorted; When the HazMat team meet the tankers, there will be a battle! Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

  20. Same here have now tried 20 plus times to logon to Master server no joy! This has happened before, any idea if ED are actually addressing the issues causing this? Guess thats my Friday nights squadron flying out of the window!!!!!!
  21. Thanks for the pointer Grimes. I used AWP hold and set to Custom Default and put the first waypoint just out to the front as suggested and this stops most of the movement if not all. When I want them to move I use a Trigger with Group Resume action as you suggested and it works fine.

Trying to Get Group to Stay Where they are put - 1.2 Using DCS World 1.2 and trying to get a Recce Pl to stay in the positions I have set vehicles until a certain condition is met but they will not hold, they move out of positions. I basically want the Recce Pl (screening force) to stay in the positions that I have set them in until part of an enemy group moves into a zone, then they need to move off. I have tried Hold in AWP and Hold in Triggered Actions with associated Trigger event to start Hold and a Stop condition associated with a Flag. Neither of these approaches are working!!! Is Hold snafu'd in 1.2? :( I have had this working in previous versions! Any suggestion, would be most welcome.
