  1. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush. I don't doubt that the A-10 will come out, someday. It's just that someday has never been a reliable date. LOMAC was a few years late. Black shark released later than expected as well. This stuff takes time to develop and my sense is that entertainment may be secondary to a company that has government funded interests. I think we benifit greatly from ED having an inside track on military hardware and for that I am quite happy to wait and wait and wait. Until then, we've got a pretty darn good sim to keep our attention.
  2. I'd be delighted if I gould run A-10 Cuba, today, even. It may even have been marginally more complex than the LOMAC A-10, or at least it's equal. I should dig it out and see what I can do to make it run slow enough. That is what I remember being the death of the game. It became nearly unplayable on newer hardware because it ran too fast.
  3. Quality is free over time. Customer satisfaction warranty costs down repeat business referrals Lack of quality costs more over time. customer dissatisfaction warranty costs up no repeat business no referrals
  4. Now I feel old... thanks! Don't forget A-10 Cuba, another classic from days of old.
  5. Seeing as English is my first and only language, I am wondering if any non English threads can be masked. I don't see an option for this in my user CP but I may just be missing it. When I visit each day and hit the "new posts" button, I get a mix of English and other languages so there are many threads that I simply cannot read and must pick through them to find the ones I can. Thanks in advance.

    MW2

Anyone know how many copies of the original COD4MW sold for the PC vs. how many for the platform?
  7. Simming without TrackIR makes about as much sense as sitting in a stripclub, blind folded.
  8. Says he's a senior member so we'll just chalk it up as a senior moment.
  9. Are there a key commands that I am just not seeing that can change the course and heading settings on the HSI like I can when I am really flying or is it not that detailed of an instrument? Seems it does have a CDI but no way to line it up properly except to fly the aircrtaft to the intended course radials. Nothing in the key settings is sticking out and nothing in the manuals is, either.
  10. No hub, right out of mobo.
  11. Never had an issue with CH joystick, or throttle for that matter. Really top shelf stuff. Always thought they should put out a dual throttle, though. I am not even picky about it looking like something from a real plane. The Pro Throttle is not the prettiest piece of equipment and certainly resembles nothing in particular but it is very comfy and does the trick quite well.
  12. Any suggested sites for finding missions (lockon only, no FC). Yes, I've Googled and there's lots to find but I am hoping someone has a "better than the rest" site to reccomend. I am especially interested in those that are not classified (or at least the password is known) so that I can dissect and learn how to build my own. Thanks in advance.
  13. Strange. My disk has no such documentation. Only PDF files are keycard_a, keycard_b and lock_on_reference_manual. Keycards must expand out of some installation file as the only PDF on my disk is the ref manual and that is just a pdf of the paper one in the box. Thanks!
  14. I have Lock On (not +FC) and to this point have been unable to locate a mission editor manual in either the game director. Is there any such thing?
  15. Having been involved in online squadrons in the past, I have watched them all (sims) come and go. The Genre is not what it used to be. There is little new AAA content in the past few years. If it were not for Black Shark, I'd be convinced the genre was dead. Maybe I have just lost sight of where the "livey" spots are.
  16. Is there any modification that can be made to prevent the "following" imaginary HUD when looking away from the ironwork in front? A pilot isn't going to see pitch bars when they are looking anywhere but forward. I't just a little thing that kind of bugs me.
  17. This product is not initially for consumer release. Supposedly there will be a consumer level product but for now its for the Military.
  18. Umm.... i see the WARTHOG HOTAS teaser but no pix of any sort. Is this what you are referring to? I was thinking about the whole G940 thing last night and couldn't figure out why anyone in their right mind would manufacture a realistic HOTAS setup in this day and age of declining sims (DCS not included). Lets face it, there is one player these days and that is ED. As phenominal as their current product is, does that create a market large enough to support the manufacturing costs of multiple high end HOTAS setups? I am hoping that the industry insiders are on to something that we don't know about and that there is going to be a resurgence of our hobby.
  19. MIG-29 v. F-16, a'la the good old days of Falcon 3.0?... Sign me up, I'll take two!
  20. Lemmie get this straight... and forgive me for not knowing all the history... The US Army is using Russian programmers to create combat training materials that simulate US equipment engaging Russian equipment on the field of battle? I mean, lets face it, the last 40+ years of miltary doctrine on both sides has been based upon a conflict between the two super powers on the stepps of Western Russia and Eastern Europe. Quite the irony.
  21. It's impossible to get them to fly a mission after 430 PM.
  22. Anyone remember back to the days of Longbow and Longbow 2? Are you going to tell me that if ED came up with the modern day spiritual successor to the Longbow franchise, you wouldn't be delighted? I am not being a fanboi of US hardware here, or whirly-birds for that matter - Longbow was simply a stellar game/simulation that just happened to be based upon the AH-64.
  23. Are they horse whip weilding, dominatrix type moderators who look like Jessica Biel and dress in skin tight transparent vinyl outfits? Anyways, yes, could we? I still haven't seen a response from our Russians friends. Some insight would be appreciated.
