Been tweaking the timing of the mission and adding a few things, hoping to finish final tests this week.
-
Also, depending on what audio program you are using (I used Audacity to create/save the files and if necessary, dBpoweramp to convert) you may also have the option to select the kHz. I like GSM 6.10 at 22.050 kHz. Typical file sizes for a 3 second to 5 second radio call are 25-60 KB. You can save a little more file size using 11.025 or 8.000 kHz, but I think the quality gets too poor. I have over 100 sound files in a new mission, some up to 25 seconds/220 KB, and the .miz is 6 MB. Hasn't been a problem for anyone on our servers.

MP Mission: "FOB Vetka"...intense ECAS

You are welcome! -
Eno, I just need to find time to make some last changes and hope to release soon (possibly this week, if not next).

Loving the new A-10 NVGs. Makes me want to fly at night all the time.
-
An old thread on the subject: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1246262&highlight=binoculars#post1246262 paulrkiii says the pilots still use them. I would love to see it implemented in the sim - the "zoom" function, like the default NVG, is at least something but doesn't account for the optics/lack of peripheral vision when you use them.
-
A-10C pilots regularly still take up binocs. The TGP is not a good search tool, unless you already know where to look.

Ha, I literally just updated to the 306.97 this afternoon. I can't recall previous version # I had before today, but do recall it had a mid-July date (was not the September driver that was out).

I can't speak for ED's priority of work tasks related to the sim, which is the point of your post, but realize that a lot of people (including testers like me) are experiencing equal or better performance now than previous versions. It's highly system/GPU dependent - and I agree that it it's important to try to optimize for all systems, which they are always working on. Like any game/sim, DCS will continue to evolve graphically as will PC specs. 1.0.0.8 was a long time ago now - I wouldn't expect the required system specs to freeze for very long - no game/sim does that (except Falcon :)) Watching CBU and MLRS impacts are indeed a brief hit on the FPS, hopefully those things can be improved, but it's been smooth as butter with the recent updates for me otherwise. Just my 2 cents. I am sure I'd be frustrated if I was experiencing significant decreased performance and hopefully it'll get better for everyone.

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration

Appreciate all the hard work, Headspace! -
This is fantastic and will keep getting better. Thanks to all those involved (Speed, Grimes, Святой, and others at ED).

Snoopy has said before that the A-10 APU is indeed louder than the engines.
-
It's only worth doing if doing right! :)

Thanks, mnrty. I've got a newer version we've been flying in our group and hope to release it (with a few more changes) soon.

Dave - try this one (attached). I added 3 AI wingmen. Just had to do a little clean up some triggers that had leftover (unused) arguments when the other flights (clients) were removed from the mission. See if you can edit/save this version. Should work now. FOB VETKA_SP_4-SHIP.miz
-
Dave, first off - since Vetka is HEAVY on custom sound files (radio calls), make sure you've seen this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91666 I didn't have time to test your SP version out, but looked in the .miz and made a couple edits to clean up the triggers. File attached... Be advised, with a 2-ship you will likely need to rearm back at Kutaisi before heading on to FOB Vetka for the second part of the mission. :smilewink:
-
Dave, are you flying it in DCS World or DCSW 1.1.1.1? I have not updated the mission for World so that could be part of the problem. I looked at the triggers for the convoy part you are describing and it should work fine with conversion of any of the client A-10s to a multi-ship player/AI flight.
-
I think he's looking for some AI wingmen help (ie: more ordinance) flying it SP.
-
Dave - in the Mission Editor you can change your jet from client to player, and add a few A-10s to the player group, so at least you have some wingmen. Not sure how it'll play out with the AI-enemy-spotting and quick teamwork reactions needed vs. multiplayer, but would be nice to have the extra ordinance if you are out there flying it alone. If you need some help in the ME to set that up, feel free to PM me and I can walk you through it - it's quite simple.
-
Redfish - just saw this post. The possibilities moving forward for live FAC in the Vetka and Hacienda type missions is fantastic. Especially Hacienda given the long travel time of the convoy. Haven't tried to modify either to include a live body via CA yet, but surely it'll be coming soon once a few things are ironed out.
-
If you play MP with TARS. Won't even be loading 1.2.0 on my machine until TARS is compatible. ;-) Can't hurt to leave 1.1.1.1 on for a while, just to make sure - since they are parallel installs.
-
+1 for F-111. Gotta get the two-seater/WSO capability ironed out though.
