Hi mate Hi from Brisbane, Australia, sorry I cannot recall that game. My first ever computer was the Commodore 64 (with the 1st floppy drive, very modern as my mate only had the tape drive LOL) anyways yeah your right, always loved the Microprose Apache. You ever play it? Cheers:thumbup:

I only want one Sim Yes you all heard me, one Sim. Apache remake (the original from Microprose) I mean come on they have released all the others, Railway Tycoon, Civ, Col, Pirates, where is my beloved Apache? I remember loading that disk the size of a small dinner plate and waiting, waiting, waiting, LOL and then playing for hours, days, weeks, months on my ol 64. Oh well to dream... Cheers all

I have done several missions choosing not to use any autopilot options at all and have flown well, landed etc. Well not more than one hour ago, I decided to use alt hold and route and no sooner had I engaged these options my chooper flight became a nightmare. As I disengaged these options things went from bad to worse:cry: the BS adopted a slight drop to the left and stayed there. No matter what I tried my BS was handling like my joystick was not calibrated, even on landing the "old bouncing and trying to kiss the ground on the left side" came back, even as i shut down i had to hold rudder to the right and hold the stick to the right to stop this from happening.:joystick: I have to ask, what did I do wrong, auto pilot even after disengaging shouldn't have an impact on the BS or any A/C for that matter, or am I wrong? Sadly I lost several A/C to enemy fire thanks to me realizing to late, that I was of course and to far away to enagae the threat. I lost 2 choppers that I was suppossed to be guarding. I am thinking I might just stick to manual and "visual". To make matters worse, (and you know I don't complain about DCS BS that much, hell I love it) my wingman suddenly became void of any commands, only replying with "negative" overall my worst mission ever. p.s. that lean and sideways movements is a real pain, corrects to some point as speed increases but, yeah, well, you get my point I am sure. So should I just leave "anything autopilot alone" and revert back to manual as I had previously done?:helpsmilie: Back to the manual and the classroom, flight 101. LOL :book: Cheers all:thumbup:

Well done. A big thumbs up on giving up smoking, excellent. You should let ED know they found a way for smokers to quit. As I work for ATODS here in Oz, I am always happy to hear someone has given up one substance or another. 10 out of 10 mate.

Thanks I will do as you suggest, look it on the pdf. I did print the whole manual so i will use the pdf as a search option in the 1st instance. Again thanks :)

Huh? you don't like helicopters... You don't like helicopters, what's wrong with you man? they are awesome although I am probably a little bias as I spent three years of my life flying around as a passenger just skimming the tree tops in the old huey.:pilotfly: Awesome experience, (in real life) love the sound, the thrill of flying just over the canopy of the jungle, looking accross at your mates in the other hueys, remembering the feeling of "I think this old bird is going to fall to pieces as it banks hard and the blades cut into the air and the sound, well you can only imagine. As you can tell, I was hooked and miss those days. Much later got to ride in the back of the Blackhawk, sadly just not the same experience. Anyway, only having a stir with you, if you don't like helicopters, hey, that's cool. As I said I am a little bias:music_whistling: When I left the ARA in 89 and joined the RAAF same year, was lucky enough to get posted to ARDU (excellent squadron) and in my three years there was lucky enough to get to go up in several Australian A/C but that's another story. On a final note, I am hoping one day that a re-release of the 1st ever Apache flight sim by microprose gets done. Sid Meier has revamped his old classics and although microprose no longer around, would be fantastic to see the old apache sim make a return. Anyone else remember Microprose and Apache Gunship Sim? they also did Pirates (another classic that was re-done) still no Apache? Ops, I went of on a ramble...need to get that 2nd coffee. Until next post my fellow BS pilots.
-
Thanks Yep got that, thanks, see what only one cup of coffee will do for you when it comes to posting a thread:megalol: it is also why I have a huge dictionary on my desk at work LOL. Cheers

I agree 100% When I look back and see how much I have paid for a lesser sim. I agree, I would have still paid more for this sim and not complained. Here's hoping they do another. I do miss the old Apache Sims. Cheers

Just last night, I was flying around and just moving from waypoint to waypoint and I started scanning around the cockpit and looking outside the glass to the world below and suddenly realised what an awesome game this is. Don't worry, Ol Le'Roy has not gone mad, but I have been playing this Sim on and of now for months but never really (for the use of a better word) "stopped to smell the roses" and I thought I would just share my thoughts with you fellow pilots (virtual). For the 1st time in many hours of game play, I actually just sat back and enjoyed the ride and may I add, I decided to fly real low about 100ft and wow, it is not only beautiful grahpically (did I spell that right?) it is very fast. All in all, for me personally this is by far the most polished Sim to date.:pilotfly: I can only imagine how the next game will be if it is looking at jet aircraft, awesome, I suspect. Any virtual groups out there using this Sim that I could join? Cheers

Thanks Thanks, I will explore that option, I am seriously going to have to read the wad of paperthat comes in the shape of this huge manual.:book: Cheers:thumbup:
-
Thanks Yeah I guess that is a logical choice, I have been looking at the map and that gives lots of info. Cheers:thumbup:
-
Love your opening line Yep, now I understand, it is clear as ... mud  however your opening line I thought was very funny.
-
Thanks Yeah thanks, I printed it at work, I had to print it in two halves as it is so large, but like most I jump right in (me bad LOL) I will go pick up this wad of paper and scan through, huge manual though, A4 paper pages ran into the hundreds from memory. Thanks for the suggestion, I am not being lazy but the manual is huge and in my case in binded in two halves. Couldn't find a binder big enough. Cheers:thumbup:

Can anyone explain to me why on Cam F2, it says my Alt is 124ft but I am sitting on the ground?:helpsmilie: When I am in the cockpit, I cannot work out what height I am at (apart from visual) is there a "true height" indicator in the cockpit (for say night time flying) because if I go of what CamF2 says I am going to be crashing alot. During the day it is resonable as I can visualise (did I spell that right? LOL) but as I said in bad weather or night I have no idea (in cockpit) of my actual height? Thanks to anyone who can help me with this.:pilotfly: Cheers
-
Thanks anyway Yeah, I agree it is a very open question, I guess I was just seeing what the default might be, 1920 x 1080 runs fine I was just wondering if the game might have had a default max, opt performance. Again thanks anyways.
-
This question is more for interest than anything else, I am running DCS BS at 1920 x 1080 (widescreen) but am wondering what people recommend as say a default? I do realise this is a very general question and it depends on individuals pc.:music_whistling::music_whistling: Cheers:thumbup:

Thanks To all that replied, thank you. JLZ your advice worked fine (seems you were the 1st to mention it) thanks to your replies I now have it working. Again thanks

I wish Hello, I wish it was that easy, no it does not :( Cheers

Hi Guys, I have asked before (ages ago) and cannot find the thread which answered the question before. I am trying to assign collective up and down to my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro but do not know which command to select from the list. Anybody else got this joystick as I am sick of using Q and A.:helpsmilie: Cheers:joystick:

Hello all, been a while but been busy, however recently re-installed DCS BS (as HDD died a few months back, I got three years out of it so I cannot complain to much). Ops, back to reason for post, I installed the latest patch and started getting error messages as game starts and also in game, however does play, only problem is I can no longer get into options. Anyone know how I fix this or do I simply uninstall and go back to the patch I was previously running?:helpsmilie: Cheers all, I hope this finds you all fine and well.
