No, let's wait until summer. The sea is much better in the summertime

I feel you have done a good work in finding bugs. Start a new thread with your 10 biggest issues in priority, after your opinion. Then let's see the comment's from others. After some time, you can make a vote, to see if the rest of us agree with you. Purpose: To find the biggest and most annoying bugs.

Don't rush it, take your time.

[REPORTED]Sensors In The Game Are Cheating Against Helicopters! (updated)
Shuenix replied to Murey2's topic in Weapon Bugs
I just stumbled over this Grim Reaper video. -
It's simpel. ED have seen the testing was not good enough and opening a closed Betateam. So Flarpt is more or less correct with ED eyes. Let's all hope it get's better. I think it will get better.

I wrote it to support you. Off course no radar lock behind obsticles. I just added, that asfaik it's hard to get a radar lock on a low flying heli at all. -
[REPORTED]Sensors In The Game Are Cheating Against Helicopters! (updated)

Thats right, but the author says the have to come in with guns. If it was easy with radars, then they don't need to go in with guns. I don't know who is right, but it does make sense to me. -
Ohh, something I have missed, sry

Hi Could we have the control settings and maybe settings in general moved to saved game. I forgot to backup again :-( I know it's my own fault. But don't think it's too much to ask for. Other games have the setting secured. I have been playing a game with old warships since it started, several years ago and never lost my settings there. Please, please. :helpsmilie::cry_2:

[REPORTED]Sensors In The Game Are Cheating Against Helicopters! (updated)

I read somewhere, it's very hard to get an radarlock on a lowflying heli. For me it makes sense. A heli in 10 meter alt. How should the radar know the difference on heli and groundstructures. EDIT: It wasn't something I have read, it was something I have seen. Take a look here: -
Open Beta is fine. It has just been too messy, with way too many bugs. Therefore I greet the new closed Beta welcome. At least it gives ED good oppotunity to look into the MP part. I guess closed Beta will catch a lot of bugs, but they won't cath them all, thus open Beta will still be necesarry.

@Flarpt I have the exact same feeling as you and I only started Oct. last year. When 2.5.6 patch was launched it was enough. It was like "Why bother? it get's worse". I haven't played since. I realy would like to fly again, but a part of me have got enough of this half finished sim. When I started last year, I had the choice of buying The Hornet or the F16. I realy would like the F16. But I thought that the Hornet must be close to finish, since they had the F16 comming, so I chose the Hornet. Boy, I realy got disappointed, it was far from finished. I didn't make it better, when the accelerated the development on the F16, on the behalf the Hornet. At that point I felt I was scamed to buy the Hornet, I realy felt cheated. Now the two aircrafts is pretty much equal in development and it was the F16 I wanted most :-( All the small bugs is a pain in the ... I know it's Beta, whats the point if the bugs don't get fixed? I bought the FW 190 A, it is pretty much finished (I think), but we can't put a bomb on it. Again, one of the small things. I am not giving up on this sim yet. I have decided to give it a couple month more. If no improvement or sign of improvement, I think I will take some months on the sofa and just wait and see if another flight simulator will come my way this year, even a civilian one. I realy like DCS, but this half finished stuff is too much. I hope and think, the new closed Betateam, will end up in a much better product.

It realy doesn't matter if it's yesmen or backclappers or whatever they are, as long as the job gets done. If it was me, I would also decide who to take in. I would take the guys I believe in. So would you. You don't need hotshot pilots to fly from a to b and bomb some targets or whatever ED have in mind. As I see it, such a team should consist of veterans and newbies. Newbies often ask questions, that a veteran never will do. I hope we will get a productive Closed Beta team and may they have fun in doing their work.
-
I disagree. The point is that ED gets some testers they can and will work with on their termes. It doesn't matter if you the best pilot on on the earth, if you can't communicate as they want it. As I see it, they want a TEAM, not a bunch of hotshots :-)

I realy like the idea with the closed Beta team and I think it will be a big succes if managed correctly. Well done

Never say never ;-)

I can't see the big problem. Between dev test and OB, we need a new layer: Closed Beta. A group of players, newbies and veterans, playing on scheduled times, on a DCS server. Then ED have full control over the tests. The open Beta can catch the bugs, that slipped through Closed Beta. I presume it will be minor things. That's how I would have done it. Edit: Btw, I am happy to fly OB, but not this update. It was way too much trouble. I also thing that a closed beta would speed things up, when it gets in system. ED can see the bugs for themselves (on the server) instead of hundreds of weird bug reports. I am usually flying MP, but I lost mood. I have only been flying once since the new update.

Present I have an Intel and it have served me well. I have started my long proces in investigating an upgrade. So far I think it will be AMD. The upgrade possibilties on the AM4 platform is looking nice for the future.
-
It's not unknown. DCS has officialy said they are working on Vulkan. So I think it will be wise, to calculate with that. Actually, I think it will be unwise not to.
-
You have to factor in, that DCS going to Vulkan API. It could benefit AMD with all the cores. I know that AMD people was very happy when Truck simulator implemented DX11. But I am no expert at all, but you should investigate Vulkan and its ipact on processors. Actually, it would be nice, if DCS gave us some info, on what to expect. I am also about to upgrade. Good luck

Look at Linus's video 18th February this year. "Does a Faster SSD Matter for Gamers??"

I like the idea and let's call it closed betatest. I might even sign up myself to help.
