For the people who only fly the Tomcat in SP and just enjoy dogfighting...then I can see this being a very big deal. If you're like me though, I fly in MP on the 104th server usually just flying CAP for the blue side or some occasional air-to-ground, it is really not an issue. Whenever there are reds on I usually get some kills, but about 80-85% are AIM-54 kills with the rest being sidewinder kills. Fights rarely get to the merge or a drawn out turn fight. While I also want all the bugs to be fixed, none of these current bugs affect me being able to enjoy flying and fighting in my Tomcat.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about...I use the F-14 on a daily basis on the 104th server against very good competition. 90% of the time I'm flying just BVR air to air and I have no problem. The radar and aim-54 work now and they worked mostly fine before this patch with the exception of the RWR warning problem. I have said this before but it remains true that most of the complaints come from operator error. Your missile is not going to hit every time, just like aim-120s don't hit all (most) of the time, but if you think the F-14 is not good at BVR...I'm afraid you may be living in an alternate universe.

I've seen you say this before on here...Downloadable content absolutely does work in MP and it is an option for almost everyone who flies in MP. If you are flying with a wingman or squadron, be sure that everyone downloads the same skins...another example is on a server like the 104th; the regular crowd downloads all the 104th skins so that we can see the members aircraft in the correct skin. The vast majority of people on the server are not going to be close enough to see (nor do they probably care) what is painted on your plane. I often use downloaded skins on MP just because I like to look at it and take screenshots, whether or not anyone else can see it. Skins take up a lot of drive space and Heatblur and ED are simply not going to force everyone in DCS to keep 500 different skins installed. Download skins...use skins...enjoy the skins

A request for the excellent skinners here: How about some high quality VF-114 Fighting Aardvarks liveries...both hi and low viz

The A is great but I was disappointed that it only came with 4 liveries. How can we use B skins on the A. I believe I read one of the developers here say it would be possible. I have a lot of skins I used with the B which were really intended for the A anyway.

Downloaded skins work just fine in MP (I use them all the time)...but you and the people you're flying with all need to have the same liveries downloaded. That being said, of course it would be more convenient to have at least a couple squadrons with dynamic modex numbers if it is ever possible.

A hotfix just came out but I didn't see anything in the notes about fixing the AIM-54 no RWR warning bug (unless I missed it)...

lol..I didn't see they wrote that before. I also expected some early skins, they're just not my favorites. I'm sure I will happily fly with any and all paint schemes they give us.

As far as the skins go, I hope they don't go with too many of the early paint jobs (think late 70's). As far as I have heard this "A" is contemporary with our "B" (using the Lantirn and such), so I'm hoping for some early to mid 90's looks (before a bunch of squadrons were deactivated..VF-114 Aardvarks, VF-33 Starfighters VF-51 Screaming Eagles, VF-154 Black Knights would all be good to see (plus any others of course)

Yes, I have also thought about this before. It would be great if we had this option either in the special options menu or in game through the ground crew menu.

Yes! I second this.. Jester is just a control interface so that you as the pilot can operate the radar. Jester has some bugs occasionally, but 95% of the complaints are operator error by the human pilots.

Your work is great! I've had your VF-143 and VF-102 sets since they were released and they are so nicely done. It's great to have a whole squadron set. Please don't stop there..How about some more squadron sets? Your work is much appreciated.

First use must bind the LANTRIN controls to you keyboard and hotas (the only thing you will do in the Jester menu is select your GBUs ....In the plane: 1. Lantrin power POD 2.put HUD in A/G mode 3. Change VDI to TCS then Toggle LANTRIN/TCS select..eventually you will see "not ready" 4. (8 min after powering up the pod) LANTRIN OPER/STBY (Unstow)..after several more seconds the LANTRIN screen should appear 5. LANTRIN mode A/G 6.Laser arm toggle 7.Check you laser code 8. Make sure you selected your bombs in the Jester menu and the master arm in on.......you should be ready to go

The Lantrin pilot mod still works fine in MP (and is even endorsed be HB until Jester has that ability) No Human RIO needed. I use the Lantrin pilot mod all the time in MP on the 104th

I actually prefer the later low-vis type line jets to the early A styles. For either the A or the B I would hope to eventually get some dynamic modex numbers..I have large sets for vf-213, vf-31, vf-102 (99 and OEF), and vf-143 and they do take up a lot of drive space.

Hey HB, I was wondering f you might show a little preview of some of the -A liveries. I'm curious about which squadrons will be coming with the A model. Also do you think you might add a couple more default -B liveries (I have tons of F-14 skins, but default ones are better so that everyone on the server can see what you're wearing)? Also, thank you for all the hard work on the Tomcat. I'm an F-14 lover since way way back, and I've been flying and fighting in the HB tomcat almost every day since March 2019 :pilotfly:
