When you are going 500+ the heli is roughly pointing straight down and rotor rpm is very low...This is what saves the rotors... On the decent i'm constantly holding full cyclic forward and the slow pitching up of the heli as is speeds up and slows is done without intention... If at any time i release pressure on forward cyclic rotors pop straight away... It may be totally unrealistic to be able to do this but only because no pilot would ever try something so stupid in real life.. We have the benefit of pushing this thing to the limits... I bet without doubt somewhere in the world this has been done on a military heli simulator with similar results. :)

EtherealN: Point definitely noted  Would be cool to know the top speed of the Lynx in the test without doubt ... Way above Katrina50... :disgust: :P:D

JimMack: Wow.. Thanks for the info...I was looking for exactly that sorta info, top flight speeds etc... :D 400kph is a whole lot fast!! :cry_2: My Katrina50 will only hammer going straight down!

Ahh... ok cool... thanks guys

Hello KA50 nut bags :), I have a question, i thought the hydraulic pumps on the KA50 are powered by the main turbines? I don't understand how the KA50 continues to fly ok when the main and common hyrdo systems are shut down... Just did a quik mission from 2500metrs alt, did the auto shut down at alt ( Win-End Keys).. i managed to auto rotate without any issues and with good hydraulic pressures... Both main and common system pressures were still good after i landed at the airport ... Is there some sort of "pressure backup system" which lasts "x" amount of time when pumps are lost.??? :music_whistling: Thx for reading Any info appreciated... Cheers

Russian ballistic missile.. That is nutz!! :surrender: I've been trying to get my best dive speed with a safe pull out and the best i can do is 661kph (661 not related to my previous post!!) without doing any damage.. :P I was going for the 700 mark :hehe: but i cant max 661 without disaster striking.. Come on gents get ya speed skates on!! I'm sure this bird can get there with the "perfect" conditions etc.. :P

Military action = Corporate interests.. Sad situation if you ask me..

If you can, get to a hover to lock up the target, makes it alot easier... Otherwise flying directly towards the target will make it easier to lock up... Use your HMS to point the shkval in the rough position then manually slew to target from there.. Can be difficult here chasing the bandit with the shkval... :P Zooming out on the shkval will give you a faster slew too.. So use this if you can't catch that speeding heli..:smilewink: Overall it is a tough gig...:joystick:

Really good stuff Fahrenheit.. Big effort of your behalf.. appreciated here.. ;) -
This is an effort i'm very proud of... :D 620+kph in a dive & landing with tanks :joystick: 26-J39-620dive_land.trk

hehe :P gotta love a good challenge :)

Ahh negative...... rotors blew just after :Do

Chip: Some very well thought out comments there.. ;) I have only played with a minimal amount of mods with MS-FS so i don't have the experience to comment on such but i have seen amazing things done in MS-FS. I'm betting we'll see some major improvements when the A-10C module comes.. :)

Operational costs go sky rocketing in the desert. Sand chews out blades... Maybe this is why no desert area.. :P :D

Sunjah, quite clearly your post has been moved to the appropriate section of the forum. :blow:

DCS: Black Shark - Q&A **READ FIRST!**
26-J39 replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Might be a question of WHEN cable cutters become "standard" on attack heli's... Or, if, oh i don't know .....:helpsmilie: -
Well said....... There are a massive amount of variables to evaluate when it comes to a crash... its not just a matter of how hard you hit the ground...

DCS: Black Shark - Q&A **READ FIRST!**
26-J39 replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I have always wondered why the KA50 has NO cable cutters... Way beyond me :noexpression: Look at the Apache its got em all over the place + deflector plates etc so the wires don't get hooked on any gizmo's attached.. It doesn't bother me, the KA50 is what it is, but i do wonder why such a simple engineering process was skipped.. -
I cannot argue your honour :)

I like your post twoarms... Never let it beat ya  :megalol::megalol: :D

Well explained.. ;) One point: All simulators are produced to suit a market... obviously the "programming companies" need to make money.... They do their market research just like any other business if not more so... DCS was made for all us nut bag aviators so we can FINALLY jump into a cockpit (regardless of the airframe type) and be overwhelmed with the functionality of ALL that is simulated.... Personally I've been wishing for this for years and years.... ( Thx ED!!!!!) At the end of the day there are sim's to please the eye and there are sim's to please the mind.. :music_whistling: If ya know what i mean ;)

I'll put my hand up too... I've always though it was a bit odd that there was no external temp indicator... I love my KA-50 and it don't talk to me
