  1. Viper: Yes i'm quite sure. One of the first things i tested when the patch come out :D
  2. astrospud: np  Any tank can be killed using rockets or AP rounds in DCS ;) When using rockets you need roughly 3-4 direct hits.. Considering the in-accuracy of rockets you need to be very close. Fly low and fast and use medium salvo's, fire when your close. Love me rockets :P:D Edit: Just to clarify: 3-4 direct hits, meaning individual rockets...
  3. In case anyone didn't know, there is a rotary dial on the back right panel in the cockpit for selecting the type of rockets used.. Manual Page:2-92 This won't affect any launch characteristics but does align the targeting circle on the HUD for the specific rocket type used, if the dial is on the wrong setting, rockets will fly way off line.. :)
  4. From memory DCS uses the UTF-8 BOM format so make sure when in NP++ to save in that format.. ;)
  5. I got this too when i installed the different FARP pad texture.. Once i un-install the mod, problem goes away ;) If it still happens when you un-install the mod it may have corrupted some files somewhere.
  6. tonym: I assume we are talking about rockets.. If you find you have to push cyclic forward to line up the target, try lowering altitude.
  7. Interesting info there Speed 2..... I have always though A2A with cannon was abit out of sorts.. Will have to try this.. Cheers :P
  8. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=44400 In this mission, there is a unit near the start of the mission (can't remember type) where once destroyed it's occupants all flee .. Nice touch :)
  9. Yeah low ping is always what you want.. seems like a weird odd ball problem.. Do you have another modem you could try? I'm only guessing but maybe your modem is playing up..
  10. Servers with low pings..hmm weird ..Sounds like a network prob from your end... You got ports forwarded.. 10308 etc ? What sort of connection & router/modem do you have?
  11. For sure  DCS really gets the flight skills honed.. :)
  12. I hear what you say ericinexile.. Thx for your comments.. I think it's important to note that max heli speed in forward flight vs max speed in a survivable dive are two different ball parks... I've seen RC heli's dive at a much greater speed that they can physically fly forward.. i feel there is more to it than just a black and while label of max heli speed.. In reality, 661kph in a KA-50 is a little extreme obviously, but im sure any heli can speed dive past its max speed as long as rotors stay within there envelope.. this is just my opinion anyhow :)
  13. When you are going 500+ the heli is roughly pointing straight down and rotor rpm is very low...This is what saves the rotors... On the decent i'm constantly holding full cyclic forward and the slow pitching up of the heli as is speeds up and slows is done without intention... If at any time i release pressure on forward cyclic rotors pop straight away... It may be totally unrealistic to be able to do this but only because no pilot would ever try something so stupid in real life.. We have the benefit of pushing this thing to the limits... I bet without doubt somewhere in the world this has been done on a military heli simulator with similar results. :)
  14. EtherealN: Point definitely noted  Would be cool to know the top speed of the Lynx in the test without doubt ... Way above Katrina50... :disgust: :P:D
  15. JimMack: Wow.. Thanks for the info...I was looking for exactly that sorta info, top flight speeds etc... :D 400kph is a whole lot fast!! :cry_2: My Katrina50 will only hammer going straight down!
  16. Ahh... ok cool... thanks guys
  17. Hello KA50 nut bags :), I have a question, i thought the hydraulic pumps on the KA50 are powered by the main turbines? I don't understand how the KA50 continues to fly ok when the main and common hyrdo systems are shut down... Just did a quik mission from 2500metrs alt, did the auto shut down at alt ( Win-End Keys).. i managed to auto rotate without any issues and with good hydraulic pressures... Both main and common system pressures were still good after i landed at the airport ... Is there some sort of "pressure backup system" which lasts "x" amount of time when pumps are lost.??? :music_whistling: Thx for reading Any info appreciated... Cheers
  18. Russian ballistic missile.. That is nutz!! :surrender: I've been trying to get my best dive speed with a safe pull out and the best i can do is 661kph (661 not related to my previous post!!) without doing any damage.. :P I was going for the 700 mark :hehe: but i cant max 661 without disaster striking.. Come on gents get ya speed skates on!! I'm sure this bird can get there with the "perfect" conditions etc.. :P
  19. Military action = Corporate interests.. Sad situation if you ask me..
  20. If you can, get to a hover to lock up the target, makes it alot easier... Otherwise flying directly towards the target will make it easier to lock up... Use your HMS to point the shkval in the rough position then manually slew to target from there.. Can be difficult here chasing the bandit with the shkval... :P Zooming out on the shkval will give you a faster slew too.. So use this if you can't catch that speeding heli..:smilewink: Overall it is a tough gig...:joystick:
  21. Really good stuff Fahrenheit.. Big effort of your behalf.. appreciated here.. ;)
  22. This is an effort i'm very proud of... :D 620+kph in a dive & landing with tanks :joystick: 26-J39-620dive_land.trk
  23. hehe :P gotta love a good challenge :)
  24. Ahh negative...... rotors blew just after :Do
