  1. Some info I found here, looks like it was the KA-50N prototype that had A2A capability where as the production KA-50 could only use cannon and vikhrs to engage air targets. Maybe this is where some of the confusion lies. Might be wrong. :)

  3. There is a file in the bazar\temptextures called interleave.bmp Change this file to desired colour and your done ... worked for me :thumbup:
  4. Like all machines you need to treat them with due respect and keep them within certain limits. Any aircraft can be pushed past a "safe flight envelope". I would guess an event like this is the equivalent of a conventional helicopter boom strike.:)

  9. Obviously these speeds are ridiculous, i do not claim it to be a realistic dive speed... that is not my intention ;) Do we really need to beat the reality monkey? :P

  11. I do understand there is always a compromise in terms of "player detail" vs "external world" detail.. Just thought i'd post what i found just in case it was a simple fix.. :)
  12. I wouldn't expect the ai to run/process the same level of code as the players flight model but some basic parameters like- altitude = 6600meters = engine stall... surely not all that complex.. ;)

  15. Hi all.. I was recently tinkering in mission editor. I created 3 x Ka-50's starting at altitudes ranging from 6000-6600meters.... The fourth KA-50 was me (player) starting at 6600 meters altitude. Upon entering the mission my turbines immediately stall,to be expected without any anti-ice features switched on (ED.. hint.. nudge.. i did see the INU heater on tho:P) All the AI controlled KA's had no problem's with there turbines and safely desended... Hmmm ???

  19. astrospud: np :thumbup: Any tank can be killed using rockets or AP rounds in DCS ;) When using rockets you need roughly 3-4 direct hits.. Considering the in-accuracy of rockets you need to be very close. Fly low and fast and use medium salvo's, fire when your close. Love me rockets :P:D Edit: Just to clarify: 3-4 direct hits, meaning individual rockets...
  20. In case anyone didn't know, there is a rotary dial on the back right panel in the cockpit for selecting the type of rockets used.. Manual Page:2-92 This won't affect any launch characteristics but does align the targeting circle on the HUD for the specific rocket type used, if the dial is on the wrong setting, rockets will fly way off line.. :)
  21. From memory DCS uses the UTF-8 BOM format so make sure when in NP++ to save in that format.. ;)
  22. I got this too when i installed the different FARP pad texture.. Once i un-install the mod, problem goes away ;) If it still happens when you un-install the mod it may have corrupted some files somewhere.
  23. tonym: I assume we are talking about rockets.. If you find you have to push cyclic forward to line up the target, try lowering altitude.
  24. Interesting info there Speed 2.....:thumbup: I have always though A2A with cannon was abit out of sorts.. Will have to try this.. Cheers :P
