Super Carrier - Holding Hands with Wingman is going to kill me
Toni Carrera replied to Toni Carrera's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Am I being stupid, i did not see that command in the radio menu? -
Hi All, I have a mission that I have created that results in a Carrier landing. I was about to land when I glanced Right, and my Wingman was beside me, about 150 feet in landing configuration. I aborted the landing and he stuck to me like glue Is there a way I can get him to land first or behind me? Thanks

Immortal On/Off Command - Disable after time or Trigger
Toni Carrera replied to Toni Carrera's topic in Mission Editor
Hi Chump Thank you, and yes, I would appreciate some help as offered Thanks -
Hi All, I have setup a carrier fleet (CVN-72) with 6 various escort ships. They have a waypoint where I have set a 'Fire at Zone' action, which then 'Stop Condition' after 3m30s. I have tested the WP and actions and all works fine What I want it to do though is not take this 'Fire at Zone' until such time as I enter a zone in my F/A-18. I thought I might use a trigger of some kind and a Flag Number, but I seem to be having an issue with the 'Fire at.....' starting, despite me having entered the trigger zone and 'FLAG ON (19)' Obviously, I just want to get it working, but down the line I want to be able to use the common method that people seem to use which is a Fire Command via the Radio F10 menu section, but I have never even looked at that, so I would just be happy with triggers and detections all happening without user intervention So, anybody understand what I am trying to achieve? CVN Group to fire at point only when the Player (Me) enters a trigger zone (in a nutshell) Sorry for all the preamble

Probably goes without saying, I certainly won't. I guess I am one of the lucky ones who through sheer annoying him with increasingly frustrated E-Mails, to the point of calling B/S on his answers, I did finally get a replacement unit that 'appeared' to be brand new and working Anyway, lesson learned, I will go the Wonwar route if they do an AH-64D product

Immortal On/Off Command - Disable after time or Trigger
Toni Carrera replied to Toni Carrera's topic in Mission Editor
Thank you Chump. I assume this goes in a trigger script, or does it go in the LUA Predicate of advanced waypoint actions? -
Hi Fellow ME's, I have Immortal set to on at mission start for an AI unit. What I want to be able to do is after some time, or by way of trigger entry of a different aircraft, remove the immortal from the other AI unit Anyone know how I can achieve this without MOOSE or MIST, I have not cracked either yet Thank you
-
Nevermind, I have found the videos by the guy who wrote MOOSE and his 100 million videos, including a '...for Dummies' set of videos Thanks Toni

Hi @Sedlo OK, so I downloaded the latest version of MIST I think (mist_4_4_90.lua). is there like a MIST training course? It has just dawned on me that I used to design very complex missions in ARMA3, and that was all lua code, and I had no problems there, so I guess the mental issues I am having are having a much bigger effect than I thought If you know of anything that may help Mr Stupid here, who did not even twig that I used to spend hours in LUA, scripting everything, and yet now I look at it and it looks like some form of oriental language I do not mind if the training is written or visual, nowadays though I tend to pick up things visually. Either that, or is there other lua programming options utilising a different type of MIST etc. I assume that Moose is also an option??? Thanks Toni

Hi Sedlo, I think I am going to create a signature that says; ------------------------------------------- Hi Sedlo/Rudel, Thank you for your assistance, I will go check out that thread now ------------------------------------------- in all seriousness, thank you for the link Toni

Hi All, I lived in Cyprus (Limassol) when the Greek / Turkish war broke out in the 70's. I am looking to create a sort of modern day mission based around that fight way back then What is the best way to create a 'detailed' and 'accurate' friendly / hostile border that split the country between Greek and Turkish sides? Thank you Toni

Hi All, I thought the idea of prepare mission was so that you can setup a bunch of mission related stuff, say my F/A-18C's Configuration, so that when you start the mission, everything previously configured, would also be so on mission start When I do this, and and then go back to the editor, and save and 'Fly Mission' from the ME menu, it just launches the mission as if I have not done anything, everything is back to default Thanks Toni

Hi All, Is there a way that I could be notified by way of a 'Message to All'' when a specific named unit launches his AGM-88C. I know I can do Missile in Zone, but I am looking for a specific named unit fires his/hers AGM-88C, not just when an AGM-88C in the designated trigger area Thanks Toni

AH-64 Mission - Desert Storm Beginning (Reference Resource)
Toni Carrera replied to Toni Carrera's topic in Mission Editor
Hi All, With regard to the radars of the enemy, and the famous start of the war, I know these Apache's punched a, I think, 20 mile wide corridor for allied aircraft to proceed with their sorties throughout the rest of the night My question is, what line up of Radars would they have that linked back to the Iraqi Command and Control, as well as 7 airfields. How would it be laid out, such that a group of Apaches, would be relatively close together, approx. 4 miles away from targets, for a synchronised volley of Hellfires? Thanks -
Hi All, I am sure for some of us Mission Editors will be already way in to the mission ideas for the upcoming release of the AH-64D. Although, in 1991 the 'D' variant did not exist, the 'A' certainly did For those that are looking for some more details of the opening salvo of the initial Air Campaign, here is a useful (to me) article listing the units in play on both sides - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_War_air_campaign I am not looking to argue about historical accuracy, or whether this size socket set was used to fix a certain bolt deep in the bowels of the gear box, it is just a guide for how the war kicked off and the units involved, which may be useful to some If this has already been posted, I apologise, I am not looking to steal anyone's thunder Toni

My Wingmen - Restrict After-Burner Usage
Toni Carrera replied to Toni Carrera's topic in Mission Editor
hi @Rudel_chw I considered it, but I wanted them to use it for take off and combat where appropriate, and from what you have just replied with, I should have just used that option any way Thanks, oh, and wow to the mission A-4 start-up missions, I know this is the wrong thread, but just wanted to say thanks and wow Toni -
F/A-18C - Trigger Actions on Mission Start
Toni Carrera replied to Toni Carrera's topic in Mission Editor
Hi @Rudel_chw I do not have the bottom two options as per your image in the A-4E-C Any idea why not? Perhaps have a later version than you, 1.7 I think Toni -
Hi All, I have a 4 Aircraft Flight, and obviously I take off, then 2, 3 and 4. We are at the northern most airport of the Persian Gulf, Khasab I think. Due to the fact that to take off, go down the runway, turn around and then take off, it takes a while for 2, 3 & 4 to get airborne. Once airborne, they burn so much of their fuel trying to get back in formation because of constant use of After-burner. We are all light fuelled and heavy loaded with weapons, as short distance to targets and a shortish mission, however 4, 3, and then 2, all RTB because they spent so much fuel just trying to get in formation, even though I ATTH orbit until they manage to reach me, but 4 barely makes it because he spends 10 minutes, or so, with his A/B full on So, is there a way to stop them using A/B for such a length of time, yes for take off, and here and there is fine, but not for the first 10 to get to me. I kill my A/B within seconds of wheels up Thank you Toni
